Went to pick up the completed rear wheel, and there wasn't a rotor or cassette on it...-1 point. Its like you take off the rotor and casette to build a wheel..you put 'em back on... Anyway, the owners are really friendly and having once worked in retail I hate writing reviews like this but the bill just don't fit the job IMO. When I returned to the shop, Steve and "Mother Theresa," as I call her, showed me true compassion. They listened, understood, and worked with me to find the best alternative. They got me into a new moped that didn't require the same licensing. On top of that, Mother Theresa generously gifted me an $80 helmet -- completely free -- just to help ease my burden. They even went above and beyond by writing a note for the DMV to simplify the process of switching from motorcycle to moped plates. During a time in my life when everything felt like an uphill battle, Steve and Theresa treated me with unmatched kindness, patience, and heartfelt compassion. I truly can't thank them enough. I didn't feel pressured, I felt like the person was really interested in helping me find something that would suit me. It was a very good buying experience. We came back about a week later to look for a bike for my wife and were helped by a teenage employee. We said our budget was X and he showed us a couple of bikes. My wife tried them both out and liked one. So we said we'd like it. Came inside to buy it and at the register he said "Oh, the price is actually Y", which was 300 dollars over our range! That was really frustrating. I suspect this might just be a training issue, but that was a serious disappointment on that second visit. I will definitely still come back because I liked the shop, but be careful about who you get to help you.

Their customer service and knowledge of all types of riders and bikes is why I choose to patronize them, as well as why I will send all my friends who I try to convince to get into cycling. They truly just want you to get the best bike for yourself. Not the most expensive or the flashiest bike. They know their stuff and they truly just want to match everyone to a bike that will make them happy and give them the best riding experience. Their repair staff is also top notch. I have had some whacky issues with my bikes over the years and they have solved them every single time. Several years ago, I purchased an Orbea mountain bike through them. Unfortunately, there was a manufacturers defect with the dropper post (not Papa Wheelie's fault - a manufacturing issue). The staff at Papa Wheelie's took my bike in and took care of the entire process in dealing with the claim and getting the part from the manufacturer and got me back on my bike quite quickly considering many of the parts were coming in from Spain. I am always team support your local bike shop, but I am specifically team support Papa Wheelies as your lbs, because they truly care. Yes, you can order a bike online direct from manufacturers, but nothing beats the experience of going in and working with the people at Papa Wheelies to figure out what bike works for you and making adjustments to that bike or getting a bike fit to make sure that it is the best possible machine you can ride. It's an investment and Papa Wheelies makes that process 100 times easier. Lastly, I'll add that bikes can be expensive. Tax on expensive things can be expensive. New Hampshire doesn't have taxes. Are you doing the math with me? If you are buying a bike for several thousand dollars in other New England states, you can end up paying several hundred dollars in taxes. You can avoid that by heading on up to beautiful tax free New Hampshire and buying your bike at Papa Wheelies.

I decided to shop local instead and after a lot of research, I thought that it would be worth my while paying a visit to Seacoast e-Bikes. Wow!! Am I glad I did. The lady that assisted me was not only very knowledgeable but extremely patient and made sure that my questions were answered. She pulled no less than a half dozen bikes for me to try and seemed vested in making sure that I had the right bike with the right fit. She wasn't pushy or even tried to oversell. You could see that she had my interest, just like if she was the customer. The service didn't stop there. After picking my bike, they made sure that it was well adjusted and road worthy. The owner even checked up on me to see if everything was in order. While waiting for my bike to be ready, I also witnessed how returning customers were treated ... It reassured me that I made the right choice. We have another bike to buy for this upcoming season, and we are heading to Seacoast e-Bikes without even looking at other dealerships because they do customer service the old fashion way. I have put over 400 miles on it and it's going strong. I bought the bike from a dealer, Seacoast e-Bikes, because it is a fairly complex piece of machinery which requires some amount of care and feeding. Just about the time the bike was ready for its' tuneup (free at Seacoast), I got a flat tire. The flat was in the rear wheel with all sorts of connections to the chain, motor, gears etc. I dropped the bike off at Seacoast and the fixe the flat, and did the tuneup for a total of $50. If I had bought the bike via mail order I would have paid a lot more. They even dropped the bike off at my house free of cost. Shane, Frank and Steve and the rest of the staff really care about their customers, and know bike maintenance and repair cold. There is no reason to buy an e-bike mail order, because sooner or later it will need service and maintenance. If I could give 10 stars on this review I would. s

Even though we were visiting fairly early in the year and before the real tourist season began, Leah and her staff at Lighthouse Bikes were nice enough to let us be their first official tour of the 2026 season! We had a lovely private tour through the city with Ross, who was as passionate as ever about the city's history even despite the cold temperatures we biked in. I definitely recommend everyone stops here for a lovely bike stroll through the city and various residential neighborhoods - beautiful views and great company all around. Watch out for dog walkers who don't use leashes. I've had near collisions with dogs. Most people are friendly and respectful. Local advice: park in the tiny lot by Chase Lane (look for the white fence along 33). It's a nice ride from there. Cool fields and a few narrow bridges. Most trails are on trailforks. Most fun trail is Dead Fish, perhaps USA Today too.

Trying to keep up with three teenage boys who didn't show any sign of exhaustion (youth is a wonderful thing), it was great to get outside, chalk up some moderate exercise and take in the views. Stratham Hill Park has one of the largest town fairs in the state the third week of July that partially funds the City of Stratham's volunteer fire department. Mark it on your calendar for great food and family fun for an important cause.
