We…read morearrived late in the evening with our tour group, and while it took a bit of time for everyone to get their bags to their rooms (the elevators are very small), the welcome was great and the rooms were fantastic. While the rooms might be considered on the smaller side, they were clean, comfortable, and had great bathrooms. Each one also had its own AC unit, meaning we could sleep comfortably at our chosen temperature that evening. While the hotel is a little ways away from downtown Rome, calling a taxi was very easy. My group wanted to go to the Vatican City early, and when we told the staff at the reception that morning to call a taxi, someone was there within 5 minutes to pick us up. It could not have been easier. I cannot speak to the hotel bar, but the breakfast was amazing. The room is rather small, but since the hotel is small it never truly filled up, and the options were plenty. Anything you wanted for breakfast they probably had, and it all was fantastic! I have nothing to complain about in regards to our stay here. The hotel is great if you're looking for something comfortable for your trip to Rome.

I gave it 5 stars. A couple stay in Rome should try this hotel, I saw family checking with their children

This hotel was chosen as the place to stay one day prior to a cruise. While I have experienced…read moreplaces that I rate higher, this was not at all a terrible choice. I arrived about 8am and check-in isn't until 3 p.m. Beatrice was the person to assist me - she verified my travel documents, briefed me on the hotel amenities, explained the shuttle, put my luggage in the luggage room, looked to have my room expedited and let me know where I could wait. At noon my room was ready and I received a key. One of Beatrice's counterparts, whom I shall not name, wasn't as pleasant to work with. Their demeanor wasn't as helpful or pleasant. My roommate felt the same. We had to request a second key only to later discover the 2 keys were deactivated (I presume accidentally), after we were exhausted from a day of exploring. However, a third person assisted with correcting this issue. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport but I believe that my driver made it in about 15 minutes. It has a restaurant on-site for lunch and dinner and also a breakfast buffet which offers a 2-option buffet breakfast. There is a swimming pool, a small gift Shop which also sells passes for attractions and a shuttle that has 3 stops: the city center, The Coliseum and Vatican City. It is also host to a Conference Center. The overall decore is simple and elegant. There are lots of places to lounge which is great for socializing. I imagine that it was absolutely gorgeous when things were new and shiny, however, the current "aging" and ambiance gives it an old charm feel. The buffet breakfast is either Italian style - pastries, yogurt, cereal, toast, etc. or American style - includes the Italian options plus bacon, sausage, 3 styles of cooked eggs, pancakes, cheeses, smoked salmon, salad, fresh fruit, etc. And of course there are coffees, juices and water. The buffet is 7am to 11am and can be included with your reservation. Otherwise, the Italian style is 12 euros pp and the American style is 20 euros pp; this can be charged to your room or via credit card at the hostess counter. I found the menu to have a good selection and variety. Gvansta was working the days that I was here - she is nice and very patient especially when eager guests flooded the counter for check in. She remembered guests as they returned for subsequent dining. The remaining staff that helped with tables, bringing coffees, etc. were all very pleasant. The room itself was ok. The temperature was too cold for our liking. My efforts to adjust the heat and have house keeping assist didn't work out as we had hoped. Eventually, we settled with just turning it off completely. If the stay was longer, I probably would have sought additional assistance from the front desk. The room itself is modest with the basics and has a covered balcony adorned with 2 chairs and a table. The view was okay, mostly beautifully green grass and trees with buildings in the background. The bathroom is spacious. Overall I didn't find the place to be glamorous yet it has sufficient amenities, reasonable accommodations, mostly a good staff. It is airport accessible and the low-cost shuttle makes it attraction accessible. For a brief stay pre-cruise it met expectations and I would consider staying again under similar circumstances.

That made the location extremely convenient. The hotel sits a short walk from Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope Francis is buried. Some areas near the main train station are often described as unsafe by Italian standards. We did not experience that near the hotel. Tourists and locals were out late, and the neighborhood stayed active into the evening. Rome is compact and easy to navigate. Most major attractions felt reachable within about 20 minutes by taxi, bus, or rail. We tried to visit the Trevi Fountain at 10:00 pm to avoid crowds. That plan failed completely(see pic). It was packed. Locals eat later than in the U.S., and many parts of the city stay busy well into the night. Restaurants remain open late. A note for U.S. travelers. European hotel rooms run smaller for the price. Even using Hilton points, our room would have cost close to $700 per night USD and felt small. The hotel offers a pleasant rooftop bar and a spacious lobby with multiple seating areas. The buffet breakfast was a solid, comfortable way to start the day. It was included for us as Hilton Diamond members. I am unsure of the cash price. Overall, the location and amenities make this a smart pre-cruise choice, especially for travelers relying on rail connections.

You just call the front desk and I suggest as soon as possible to ensure availability. If you're going to city centre, please book round trip. The first day, we made the assumption we could just get back on. The driver penciled us in because there was room. I wish I could include pics of our room but I accidentally deleted them. I'd recommend this hotel over and over.

Roma on via Giorgio Zoega is a testament to that tradition among next generation hospitality service entrepreneurs. In fact, if not for the extraordinary 5-Star and Michelin hotels I have enjoyed over the years in Rome, Venice and Florence, A.Roma would have earned a 5th star from this reviewer. This hotel sits on a campus consisting of several buildings, all of which enjoy common amenities. For the spa lover, and I am certainly one, Hotel A.Roma has a wide variety of body treatments and massages at reasonable cost administered by very capable massage therapists and practitioners. The restaurant associated with these premises is excellent in its own right. The housekeeping staff are careful never to disturb anyone who is asleep, and the management seems to know when you and your guest have left the hotel for a walk or a trip to one of the many sites to be seen in Rome, and when you return, you will find your room has been expertly attended to. The critically important front desk staff are well-versed in transportation, cultural offerings throughout the city and surrounding cities, and are always very well mannered and very efficient. They go out of their way to offer to arrange tickets and taxis and just about anything you can think of. Had this hotel been just about anywhere in the United States, it would've earned a fifth star.

After my hospital visit was over and we went back to the hotel the staff helped translate my order and prescriptions. They were so helpful with everything else. They gave us a very good walking map of Rome with highlighted routes, a list of restaurants that they recommended and we were not disappointed in any that we went to, they scheduled taxi pickups, had umbrellas for the rain a great breakfast with awesome cappuccino and lattes and a happy hour. Our tour guide was great and we were able to hear him speak with the headphones they gave us at the beginning of the tour. St. Peter's Basilica is gorgeous! So much history and detail to it. We were lucky to have visited it during the Jubilee year which only happens every 25 years. We were able to walk through the Holy Doors. It was very crowded because of the Jubilee year and in some parts of the tour it was difficult to walk because of the crowds. You can also see St. Peter's tomb and take pictures of it from outside of the glass that is protecting it. I think that even if you're not a religious person it's still worth visiting St. Peter's Basilica for its history.
