My first time going here was with a Groupon, $37 for a one-hour Swedish massage. I went in, a man at the desk greeted me and had me fill out a questionnaire about my health, why I came for a massage, etc. and everything seemed fine. The guy took me to a room, and I was a little confused because I knew I had specified twice that I preferred a female massage therapist.
So, I got undressed and on the table and then a female massage therapist comes in. She does not introduce herself and only says hello. She never once asked me why I wanted a massage, if I was in pain, had any injuries, how the pressure was or anything. Then while massaging me, she kept putting the sheet over me and rubbing my skin with the sheet in between. I have never had this done before and it was pretty unpleasant. The whole time I could hear employees outside the room talking loudly, which was not relaxing at all. When she was done, she said thank you and walked out. I looked at the clock and my 60 minute massage had really only been 40 minutes!
When I walked out, the same guy at the desk asked if I wanted to leave gratuity and I explained that since I paid for an hour massage and got 40 minutes, I really didn't want to. He told me that anywhere you go, you will get a 50 minute massage when you pay for an hour. I told him I have been getting massages for years and never has that happened to me. I felt horrible about not leaving a tip, but it really was a bad experience. read more
