Avoid this place at all costs. HEY! LISTEN TO ME! You think "But no, Parker, they are giving me a great deal!" Listen to me. Avoid this place at all costs. Including the cost of the discount you think you are getting. Don't be an idiot.
Did you get that? Avoid this place. At all costs. Don't do it. DONT. Just don't. I often see reviews like this and think "yeah they're just so upset that they are exaggerating the facts."
But it's been 2 years since my experience with this used car dealer, and time hasn't given my experience a nice fluffy silver lining. It still goes down as one of the worst experiences I've had with other humans. Rough stuff. I learned later that this is a type of used-car-limbo where cars that have been on other lots go to get one last chance at being sold before being auctioned off for parts. (Yes. They are one step away from being parts).
But you say "Yeah but I'm really in a tight spot and they have the car I want in my budget!". Well listen here cowpoke, I'll bet you a dollar that you're going to spend a heck of a lot more on that car than just the money you give them. There's a big reason the car is cheap.
Are you getting my point? I had a bad feeling from the start of things after talking to Todd on the phone who gave me a bad vibe. By the way he spoke it seemed like he was the type of guy who didn't give a damn about other people. I thought "maybe this is just a tiny dealer because this guy doesn't know how to deal with people and I'm about to get a golden deal!" I had a friend take the car in for an inspection. The mechanic found lots of body and interior damage that Todd didn't care to mention, and conveniently left out of the pictures. I was buying the car for fuel efficiency, not beauty, so I booked a flight to get things moving on the car. Right before my flight when I asked for a copy of the title for my bank I was informed that they didn't have the title FOR THE CAR THEY WERE SELLING. I had to cancel my flight and lost 200+ dollars. I'm an idiot and continued on.
Finally got the title issue worked out, flew out to finish things up and drive it back. (and saw their "lot" which is just their cars parked on the side of the road in front of their fly-by-night office.) I Had various issues with my bank, and Todd patiently waited for my money (+filled out a form they sent him, so there's that positive!). I gave the car a test drive for about 10 mins and it seemed OK.
Money came through, and I got on the road. After 5 mins of driving the electrical system started flickering, at 10 mins of driving the coolant system started making noises, and at 15 mins the dashboard simply displayed "STOP" in red letters. I pulled over and steam poured out of the overheated engine. After threatening to report the dealership to the Auto dealers Association, Todd agreed to take the car back (on my dime to tow it of course), and promised me that he wouldn't sell the car to another consumer, but would send it off to auction (where parts cars go.)
I didn't wait to see if the car made it back to his shop, my friend and I just got the first flight the hell out of Denver.
The car went back on their listings the week after it was towed back to their "lot".
Don't.
I created this yelp business page for the company shortly after my experience and wanted to leave it up for a while to see if anyone else had a similar experience, or if mine was just a fluke. And after a couple of years there is only one yelp-unapproved review, from Todd himself. "I had such a great experience with Todd at Executive Group. There was no pressure, he did'nt make me feel like I had to buy right then he just made it very easy and the price was the best by far for the value!!!"
For Todd: Bygones are bygones. You did let me test drive this car and take it in for inspection and were probably doing a victory lap when the shop didn't find the many issues with this car. But it's your responsibility to sell solid cars, not the buyer's to not get swindled. The lesson I painfully learned through this experience is the vital importance of a man's honesty. So I'll be honest: You swindled me man. You are a swindler. Please don't contact me. read more
