The owner really cares that you get a very good hair cut. I always get the hot towel and shampoo. I can't say anything bad about the place. Well you do need an appointment. But this is a good thing. I recently moved away from Houston, but this was my spot for the last year or so of being in town. Miriam is amazing and is so sweet. It was always a pleasure going in to see her and catching up where we had last left off. She remembered exactly how it liked my haircut and was consistent every time. Absolutely horrible! This review is coming after visiting Executive Choice for the second time. I was looking for a new barber and found them and gave them a call asking if they took walk-ins, to which they said yes. When I arrived, the place was empty aside from the 2 barbers and one customer getting a cut. The guy who cut my hair spent half the time talking on the phone, while he cut my hair. This could have easily taken 20ish minutes, but turned into 45. I didn't think much of it since he did a pretty good job. Fast forward to today. I arrived, once again under the notion that they took walk-ins. This time, there were 3 barbers (2 ladies and 1 gentleman). All 3 were in the process of cutting hair. The same guy who cut my hair last time was on the phone, on speaker for the whole shop to hear his call. One of the ladies greeted me and told me to sign on the list. I thought the wait wouldn't be too long since I was the only customer waiting. Man, was I wrong. For an hour and a half I waited to get a haircut. I watched as 2 other customers came in after me and got a haircut and the one guy barber talked on the phone and to other barbers. He seemed to care about doing EVERYTHING else BUT cut hair. I received no communication from staff till 45 min after I arrived. It was only then that the lady mentioned the girl at the front would get me next. The girl at the front had been shaving the same guy in her chair since I walked in and continued to do so as I got up to leave an hour and a half later. It was only then that anyone seemed to care and mentioned the wait wouldn't be much longer once my hand touched the door. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This was the worst barbershop I've ever been to and everything that went down was totally inexcusable. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere instead of dealing with the incompetency that is abundant at Executive Choice. read more

Excellent barber shop held together by two gorgeous women (Miriam and Veronica) and a cool dude named Antonio. Today was my first visit to Executive Choice and as I was waiting for a haircut I observed the barbers at work. They all took their time and made sure that the cuts are all perfect. The precision they used with the straight razors was amazing. There's no rush here and the hospitality is there. As soon as I walked in Miriam greeted me and asked me to sign in. The TV was set to ESPN and college football was on. When it was my turn I was also offered a cold drink. The haircut was great as I expected but what really surprised me was the extra services including hot towel, straight razor edge ups and full head massage (Veronica has magic fingers) that was included in the price of only $15. A tremendous value, I felt very relaxed and pleased that my wallet wasn't molested. I loved this place, and you will too! read more

Finally!!! I've been in houston for 9 years and have been on a quest for a great barber shop that doesn't gouge you the whole time. I've tried salons , cheap and expensive barbers, and everything in between. I had conceded to keep going to cut throat bc they give great cuts without a doubt, but at 35$ + tip every four weeks it's a little pricey. This place gave me an excellent cut for 20$ + tip. The wait was a bit long but I didn't set up and appointment and came after work like Everyone else, So just plan ahead. read more

This place is terrific! Miriam is the best! You can get a quick inexpensive haircut or you can get the works! I prefer the latter, which for me, typically includes the cut, wash, and a shave. Haircut is fine, but what's the point of taking appointments if you're not going to honor it? I made an appointment this afternoon for 6 and they took somebody else. The reasoning was because he was waiting. I understand that but shouldn't you honor an appointment? What a joke. Just spent 25 mins at this place and the owner just lets some guy cut the line because he gave her a five star rating on Facebook. I've been here a few times and the last time I was here they did a full service shave and haircut and was really disappointed in the shave must of had four or five cuts on my face. I've been coming to Executive Choice Barber Shop for about two years. It has been a staple in my weekly routine. In the past I didn't have a regular barber as I wear a buzz cut, but Miriam and Antonio changed that. They are incredibly sweet and positive people. I enjoy their company and the way they make me look. Service is above and beyond at their place. Although I don't ever partake, they offer beverages (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) and a wide variety of magazines. The massages are great as well. It is the absolute best haircut experience out there. They are also very polite and go out of their way to make me feel welcome even though they don't cut my hair. Very detailed attentive staff. On my first visit Sarai took care of my haircut, and it turned out very well. She took a lot of time to be sure it looked good. I brought in pictures from my last haircut which I thought was excellent and I received at a very high end barbershop. I think that Sarai did an even better job. Miriam was very friendly and seemed to care greatly for her customers and strives to provide top-notch service and experience. At the end of the haircut I got a shampoo and massage, I was getting worried that the final bill would have gotten really high with the extra services but they were all included in the $25 total. Went there for first time this week. Got a great haircut but was overcharged by Miriam. I was charged $20 (plus I left a $10 tip) for a regular men's cut...no washing, no extras. Next day, I called to ask the price of a haircut and was told by Miriam that it was $15, so Miriam got $30 for my $15 haircut. Congrats to you Miriam but I won't be back,as your dishonesty is revolting. I'm sure that you were just building in a $5 tip since I looked like a bum and you were afraid I wouldn't leave one. And by the way....I'm not really just visiting Houston, I just moved here and was looking for a regular barber....you won't be the place. It has nothing to do with the cost,but everything to do with your dishonesty. All for and extra $5......so sad. read more
