I drove from Detroit, MI to Cleveland OH to look at a vehicle at Exclusive Auto Group LLC. I looked at a Chevrolet express G2500 van. This was the vehicle that I was initially looking for and I had found one at their dealership. I was reluctant to make such a long trip but hoped I would find that the vehicle was a good deal and that the dealership would be honest and trustworthy.
The vehicle on the outside looked pretty decent and it seem to run OK with the exception of a whining noise whenever the car was being driven or in gear. I asked the sales person as well as their mechanic what this was and they assured me that it was not a big deal at all and there were no issues with the vehicle.
Unfortunately, I made a poor decision and purchased this vehicle. $5700.00. I drove the van back to my home which was approximately three hours away after purchasing the vehicle. Immediately when I arrived home the check engine light came on. Unfortunately there are no mechanics in my area that are open so I wouldn't be able to bring the vehicle anywhere until a normal business day to have it looked at. Additionally, I really shouldn't even have to be dealing with this since vehicle was purchased only three hours prior. I was hopeful that this would be something minor but of course I was already disappointed and concerned.
Less than 24 hours later I attempted to start the vehicle and it wouldn't even start. At this point, I decided to reach out to the salesman via Facebook messenger which is how we had been conversing so far or at least prior to me actually purchasing a vehicle. I asked him if the extended warranty that I chose to buy covers a tow service because unfortunately the vehicle is dead and will not start. Keep in mind, this is still less than 24 hours since I purchased the vehicle and drove it home.
Essentially, his response was "it sounds like a dead battery check that". My response to him was basically " I am not a mechanic and I do not have any means to check the battery, didn't your company check out this vehicle to make sure it was up to par prior to selling it to me?"
His response at that point was, "yes we did, you wouldn't have made it home if we hadn't checked it out". I proceeded to tell him that I find it very ironic that three hours after buying the vehicle the check engine light came on and now less than 24 hours after having the vehicle it doesn't even run. I told him that I wasn't happy and I was hopeful that this extended warranty that I purchased would be able to solve these issues."
I waited for a response (anything) from him however instead of responding he literally left the market place private group between him and I discussing this problem. So another words he walked away with no response.
I'm going to have the vehicle towed to a local mechanic and have it checked out. Depending on what I find I may have to file a lawsuit. Additionally I will definitely be contacting the Better Business Bureau. I do not find this to be acceptable practice for any type of business. Perhaps I wouldn't be so irritated if he hadn't disconnected the conversation and walked away. In my opinion, this says a lot about how he does business.
I want anyone who is even considering purchasing a vehicle from this car lot to go the other way. Do not waste your money with crooks. Do not buy a vehicle from this dealership. The sales persons name that I dealt with is: M.C. Yilmaz at least that's what it says on my bill of sale.
In conclusion, I made a horrible mistake and I shopped at the wrong car dealership. He's quite the salesman, but he is a crook. Do not waste your time or money here. If I could give zero stars with this review I would. I'm very disappointed. read more
