It is located in a former motel spot & stretches all the way to King St. it's stunningly beautiful with gorgeous Magnolia Trees & Crepe Myrtle's. It has lots of seating areas with magnificent flowerbeds and a large green space with two very large fountains. Music drinks/coffee dogs & people. They have some areas that are shaded and from what I understand will have shade umbrellas in the summer time. From what I understand, The park was a gift from Ben Navarro of (Charleston Place Hotel) to City of Charleston. Stunning.. do not miss.

But once you walk past the entrance, the place opens up into these incredible, huge live oak trees forming a canopy over a dirt path. It looks like something that's been there forever, without anyone messing around, nature is the master. They've built these wooden boardwalks that stretch right out across the marshland and over the still, dark water. The water reflects the green trees so clearly it looks like a painting, though half the people pushing strollers across the bridge are too busy taking photos to even look at the trees. They've also got a statue standing in the woods of a Native American holding a club, just standing there among the bare trees, which gives the whole woods a quiet, sort of eerie vibe. Up near the water, you can even catch a glimpse of the tall wooden masts of that old replica sailing ship they keep docked there. It's actually a pretty good place to walk around if you want to get away from a bunch of phonies for an hour, provided you just stick to the boardwalks and watch the trees instead of listening to the tour guides.

This year was a little different in that they changed up the place where you get your tickets for the train which was a nice change. Like always the park never failed to bring a smile to every child's face and we look forward to being back there next year.. our trip there though was a whole lot better then two years ago which took us 4 hours to get in versus the 18 minute ride this time.

Super fun activity for fall!…read more I came by with some friends on a Sunday morning. The tickets are well priced at about $15, and this includes entry, and access to the corn maze, hay wagon ride, petting zoo, shows, and vendors. We didn't catch any shows/performances, but there was a trapeze and pig racing area. The animals in the petting zoo were really cute, and the wagon ride was very fun and well designed. We found the corn maze a little underwhelming and it took a long while to park and enter, but we still had a great time! We got some cider and apple cider donuts while there, and they were amazing

Why 5 stars? Because this was the perfect venue for a festival…read more --- --- --- I attended the Charleston Beer Garden event in 2016, and really loved this spot. We have similar outdoor event spaces in Tampa, but I really loved the Grove. It didn't hurt that the weather was as nice as humanly possible. Parking was ample, though I will admit I arrived very early before the major rush. It can definitely be weird and confusing if you're coming here for the first time, so don't rely on Apple/Google maps as your sole informant. For the CBG event, restrooms and cold water were not hard to come by, though I know that's more of an event-specific thing. As for the park itself, the views were beautiful, and it was a nice mix of areas for sun, and shaded spots to hang in. It's tough to review a park in great detail, so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. But I do know this: my experience was nothing short of 5-stars.

The young female instructor gave the group very clear directions & spelled out everything in concise, easy to understand language for kids. She explained the gear & the importance of taking good care of one's "koala," (the metal toggle attached to the thick metal zipline.) Before I knew it, my son was off & running. He did the first run, the second, then completed the whole circuit. He did it over & over, & even opted for the next level up! I saw the owner actually work one on one for over 30 minutes with a boy who wasn't ready to do the zip line but wanted to try the rock wall instead. This is a really fun concept & I love how each person does the course on his own, with the guides present mostly for encouragement & for keeping things running safely & smoothly. It is a great outfit for a celebration like a birthday, team building for professionals, or simply for some family bonding. It's very clean, well-run, & the guides are top notch. I highly recommend it!
