My fiancee and I are in the market for a new car for her, and had found one we were interested in and was in our budget online at this place. We called way ahead and spoke to Anthony, who said the vehicle was still available and that he would have it ready by 4:30PM that day for us to look at.
After leaving work early and driving clear across town in rush hour traffic, we arrived at 4:30 right on the dot. We walk in and are greeted by Anthony who immediately says he is busy with another customer (not like we made an appointment or anything...) and that another associate would take care of us and that he would come join later on. Fine. We sit down and this kid is like a deer in the headlights with no idea of what to do. He was a super nice kid, but was not ready for this and had no idea what was going on or who we were. (I felt bad for him honestly). after about fifteen minutes of awkward digging we find out that the car we were promised was "in the shop being serviced" and "we don't know what's wrong with it"... Finally, a man who identified himself as a part-owner of the business went to the shop and came back claiming it just needed a new battery and we could test drive it right away.
The car comes out and it is absolutely filthy. The inside was clean, so, whatever. We take it out and immediately I hear scraping and grinding coming from the rear of the vehicle, and the dash has warning lights on. This car is far from ready. Unacceptable. So they find another car, same model, similar price, and after 20 minutes of waiting, they bring it around... It has HUGE dents all over, like someone took a bat to it in places, and a huge crease through the hood (as in the metal was bent longways). I point it out and the salesman actually says to me: "oh that'll buff out". I thought, surely he's joking, and turned towards him. No, he was serious. He was trying to tell me that severe body damage to metal would "buff out". He then goes on to tell me that, "all of our cars are in outstanding condition before they leave the lot". I said, "that's great and all, but, loud grinding noises isn't really what one wants to hear from a car they're about to buy". This elicited a chuckle from their mechanic who was standing nearby. He then actually says this, "oh, well, when I say outstanding condition, I mean they all pass state inspection."..... WHAT?? So you're saying your idea of "outstanding condition" is that it meets the bare minimum requirements by the state for it to legally be allowed on the road?? That's a really low bar, bud!! Doesn't make me feel any better about buying a car from you!
At this point, we were pretty upset. We were lured out here for a car that was in no shape to sell, and everything else they're showing us is filthy and beat up. The 'part-owner' apologizes and tries talking us into a more expensive vehicle. Now it's starting to feel like a Bait-and-Switch. We said no, out of our budget and left.
We were lied to in order to get us out there to waste our time and try to upsell us. The more senior-level salesman, Anthony, immediately dumped us off on someone with no experience because he was "busy". And I should note, that every time I looked across the room, I would see Anthony messing around on his phone, or showing videos to other employees, and never with another customer.
Also I should note that the first two cars looked suspiciously like they had had previous damage and body work, yet they swore up and down that there was no accidents. Looking at the other reviews on here (some by former mechanics for them). Looks like they're trying to swindle people.
It's fair to say we felt brushed off the second we walked in and it only went downhill from there. It seems others had a better time here. I don't know what to say, but this was our experience. Extremely unprofessional. We only have so much time to spend each day looking for a new car and playing games like that is totally unacceptable. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
