The dispatcher reported me for "fraud" to AAA after he harassed me, telling me to "go complain to AAA like everyone else".. he then got my AAA account red flagged as me being "abusive to the driver"... Too bad the cameras, with sound, pointed out his nonsense, AAA IMMEDIATELY unflagged my account, as it never happened, proof provided. Called triple a for roadside assistance technician from excel came and told me he couldn't do the service we pay for. Why do we pay for the service if u can't do it. Then called the company to find out why and the owner Larry was disrespectful from the gecko. I will never be using excel roadside again. read more

He ran a test on the battery which he showed to me and explained, and offered to replace my battery on the spot with my AAA discount. He emailed my receipt and discussed the warranty with me. I hopped in the car this morning and it wouldn't start which set off a feeling inside me that today was off to a bad start. I called AAA and put in a request for assistance. While I waited, I called my normal service place and was told that they could probably get it to it today. I know how long it takes to change a battery and was not impressed by their response. I called two other place and got the same non answer about how long it would take to get a new battery. When Excell arrived, all I was expecting was a jump. When the gentleman asked if I wanted to replace my battery, that he could do it then and now; I was in. The thought of waiting around all day for a complete service department to change my battery and depending on others to shuttle me around for what should take 5-10 minutes was already making my blood boil pressure rise. Instead of having to deal with that nonsense, Excell replaced the battery then and there, no muss no fuss. My day that I thought was heading downhill fast, was saved. I'm very glad that AAA sent Excell my way, the arrived and took care of everything in under an hour from when I called. I'd definitely recommend Excell Road Service! read more

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!!! First let me say that I rarely post a review, whether it is positive or negative. Having said that, I am compelled to write this review. Excell Road Service responded to a call for a jump start. The service guy was hooking up the cables for a jump start. As my particular vehicle has the battery under the rear seat, I could see and hear all that was going on. I heard and saw a spark, like what usually happens if the charger cable clamp is not on the proper terminal, like positive to positive. After the guy was finished, I looked at the car radio clock to note the time. and the radio did not work, so I called attention to this. The service guy just said something like " he didn't know" and left. Several weeks later, I had the occasion to use the A/C, and it did not work either. The repair shop had to install 7 new fuses, which I attribute to the service guy hooking up the charger incorrectly. In addition, the blower motor module had to be replaced, at a cost of over $600.00. I filed a complaint with AAA. The owner of Excell called. He basically said it was not his guy's fault, that the equipment used would not have allowed such a thing to occur. The owner, Michael, was combative and condescending. He basically said that it was not his equipment that caused the problem and disputed my claim to AAA. In looking at other reviews, I find it strange that in most cases, the service guy ended up selling the customer a new battery. Most peculiar, in my opinion. And I see other complaints about this company, and the owner's refusal to accept responsibility!!!!! I would NOT recommend Excell Road Service. I am still pursuing a complaint with AAA in regards to this incident. AAA needs to remove this business as a provider. read more

I believe a previous review that said the owner called and berated him. I logged a complaint with the motor club, as days after this company installed a battery my service electrical system light ASAP flashed on dash display. The dealer service dept. reported the installer of the battery damaged a sensor and wire, costing me almost $300 to repair. The owner of the roadside service company Excell called me, very combative, disputing my claim. He asked for old damaged parts, refused to call the dealer service dept., said why should I take their word for it; he just was an all-around jerk. I would not use this company again. read more

We had a car that had been sitting unused for quite a while and needed a jump. The driver was pleasant and helpful. Our concern was his frequent insistence that our (nearly new) battery was basically dead and probably wouldn't hold a charge. But of course, he just happened to have a new battery on his truck that he could install on the spot for just $135. When I declined to buy his battery, once I was out of earshot, he twice tried to persuade my wife to buy it, without telling her that I'd already said "no thanks." We got our original batter tested later, and found that it worked just fine. I don't appreciate trying to up-sell equipment that doesn't need replacing, just to make a few extra bucks. read more

Do not use this shop. if you happen to use them because they are one of the AAA member service providers, make sure to call AAA to dq them. They ripped me of two weeks ago as a AAA member service provider. Specifically, my car newly replaced battery, which was replaced by an AAA member service provider about 12 month ago, was dead again on 2/14/24. So we called AAA and this shop came and replaced the battery with the charge of $234.99 without checking how long the bad battery was in service and if it's covered by AAA discount policy, given such a short time service window. read more

I used AAA to get a jump service. This company dispatched a driver that had awful communication and customer service skills. When I was asked to fill out a survey on the experience I gave my honest assessment of what my experience with the technician was like. Within one hour the owner of the business called to argue and berate my survey response. As if he was only concerned about the poor rating and not my poor experience. For an owner to act like a literal child in response to customer service survey and call and argue with the customer about their feedback is the absolute wrong way to do business. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. My only complaint is that they are only available through AAA because I would like to be able to call them whenever I have car issues. During this epidemic I've very rarely used my car and for the past two months I hadn't used it at all. On Sunday, December 6, it wouldn't start. I called AAA and was prepared for a long wait for service. Instead of that, a truck from Excell Road Service in Buffalo Grove arrived within 15 minutes of my call. The mechanic, Nick, could not have been nicer. In addition to a dead and unrechargeable battery, an animal(s) had torn the insulation from the hood and tightly packed in all around the motor. Nick cleaned this out and checked for damage. He installed a new battery and was on his way within an hour of my call. I'm so glad I renewed my AAA membership and was fortunate enough to have Nick from Excell Road Service come to my rescue. read more
