Hugh's Body Shop

Hugh's Body Shop

Hugh's Body Shop repaired my Nissian after a front end collision. They staff was professional and…read morepolite, they answered all my questions and finished the job quickly, returning my vehicle much sooner than I expected! They even washed my dirty car, I hardly recognized it. It looks great and I'm so pleased! Thanks so much To the Hugh's team!

Let me just say this was an absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. I don't want to…read moreexaggerate or be dramatic, but I want to strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. If you're already dealing with the stress of a car accident, the last thing you need is a shop that adds more stress, confusion, and pressure to an already difficult time. Here's exactly what happened: I chose Hugh's Body Shop after getting several quotes. On the surface, their shop looked clean and professional, and although they were the most expensive, I figured quality would justify the price. Unfortunately, that assumption could not have been more wrong. From the beginning, I explained clearly that I wanted to keep costs down by handling all the interior work myself -- things like reinstalling the seats, airbags, seat belts, and trim. I only needed them to handle the door and corner of the cab. The quote I was given was high but still within reason, so I agreed and scheduled a drop-off date about a month out. After dropping off my truck, communication and timelines completely fell apart. A job that was supposed to take a couple of weeks turned into months. Every time I checked in, I was told "just a little longer," but progress was always delayed. When I finally went to pick up my truck, I was shocked to find a significant upcharge added to the original agreed-upon price. When I questioned it, Jared reviewed the charges and admitted to me that I had a point -- so he initially agreed I could pay the original quoted amount. But when I handed him the check, he refused to give me my keys unless I paid the extra balance. That kind of behavior -- holding my property until I paid more than we agreed on -- felt like bullying and intimidation. I was stunned and just wanted my vehicle back, so I reluctantly paid the additional amount. The justification for the extra charge was "additional frame time." But I had personally measured and photographed my truck's frame before leaving it with them, and when I got it back, nothing was different except a bit of spray paint. On top of that, there were new issues with my truck that were not part of the original damage. Jared told me in person that he'd fix those, but when I followed up by phone, he refused. This experience left me extremely disappointed and concerned for others. What looks like a reputable business seems to be run by someone unprofessional, dishonest, and unwilling to stand by their word. Please -- learn from my mistake. There are plenty of honest, competent shops out there. I truly regret trusting Hugh's Body Shop with my vehicle.

Their communication was on point. We took a car in that was in a minor fender bender that turned…read moreinto a lot more than just a dented bumper cover. Although it did take longer than expected for the repair, we understood and appreciated their attention to detail. Shoutout to Charlie who stuck with us through the whole process. Car looks 10x than it did before the accident. If you are in the Roanoke area and have collision repair work needed to be done, definitely consider taking here. They'll text you with updates and won't leave any stone unturned.

Horrible experience. My car sat in their lot for 8 days while they said they were waiting for my…read moreinsurance to agree to their estimate, or so they told me. They never bothered to tell me that the estimate they sent to my insurance specifically stated that they would not guarantee their work. So it sat there, while I played text tag with them for a week while they failed to give me the full picture. The entire time they played it off like as soon as my insurance approved, they would get to work and fix it. My insurance finally called and said they would not cover the costs because Caliber would not guarantee their work. When i went to get the car, the guy i had been dealing with said he was surprised to see me and didn't know why i was there. When I said they sent an estimate to my insurance saying they wouldn't guarantee their work, he clammed-up and started talking in circles. The estimate they sent to my insurance was for just over $7,300 for some chemical etching on the paint on one side of my car. When i asked how much it would be to sand, strip, and repaint the entire car, the guy wouldn't give me a clear answer, but eventually said around $8k. How is "buffing and polishing" (his words) to remove etching that they won't guarantee to work seven thousand, but an entirely new paint job a thousand more? A giant mess and a waste of time, stay away TLDR: these people wasted over a week of my time, were not forthcoming , shady pricing estimates, and didn't seem interested in actually trying to help fix my problem. I'd never recommend them to anyone
