The bar tender Jamie was rude and impatient. She appeared to be very irritable every time folks went to the bar. She told me that she usually closes the bar around 12:30 or a little closer to 1am during weekdays. She did a "last call" at 1am tonight and got upset when I ordered a tequila sunrise just briefly after. She said that last call wasn't for mixed drinks. I used to love coming here back when the male bar tender worked here about 8months ago. Now, my buddy's and I will not return. Not very welcoming or homey these days. This place seems like it has seen better days, but has a ton of potential. I enjoyed the pool tables. Also, there's a great space outdoors. Huge patio and basketball hoops too. However, the bartender seemed extremely intoxicated, slurring words, and acting like he had a few too many. Also I was standing at the bar to order, bartender and I eye contact, and then he watched someone walk up next to me and quickly went to serve them instead. I have been going here since my young 20's. I was recently in town back in November with all my sibling's and our spouses to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday. Our husband's all arrived first and were hanging out. When my sister and I arrived we were Id'd and both had out of state ID's. I am 34 and she is 30. The bartender was extremely rude saying she can't accept out of state ID's. We both had a wedding ring on and a full wallet of other cards to show our names but yet were denied being served. Out on a Sunday at 6pm with the wife looking for a place to grab a burger and a beer. Let's give this place a try we said, we never been. Sat down at the bar, ordered some beers, then went to place a order for some food and was told the grill was shut down for the evening. I don't know if this is standard procedure for Sundays for what's listed as a bar and GRILL, or if the bar maid didn't want to get the grill dirty. Either way it's Sunday at 6pm and your grill is closed, yet your facility is equal in size to that of a family dinner. I think I have been here only once. I was unimpressed to say the least. The outside was essentially a giant ashtray and the inside was like a fraternity house. The lack of cleanliness is appalling for somewhere that serves any type of food or drink. If I recall correctly, the drinks were served in plastic cups and the whole place had a cheap vibe. My husband and I ride our bikes here often. This place definitely has potential, but it's lacking its luster. They have several pool tables and bar games. There is an outdoor bar with a patio that is quite roomy. There's corn hole and basketball hoops on the outdoor patio too. My only complaint is that the drink prices are rather steep. My husband and I ordered two vodka/cranberry drinks and they were $15 for both. They were served in small, plastic cups. Other than the drink prices, this place is fun. We make it to this bar every time we are in MI without fail. And why wouldn't we when it has a little bit of everything. Latest and greatest version of Big Buck Hunter? Check. Pool tables? Check. Huge patio? Check. Outside basketball courts? Check. Cheap drinks? Check. The only thing this place is lacking is a cab when you are all said and done for the night. But since they don't seem to come within a 10 mile radius of this bar or neighborhood... you can't hold it against the place. They will at least gladly call one for you. read more

When we first started dating, my now husband and I would show up early Saturday nights, order a pitcher, and commence to play game(s) of pool (coin operated!) It got so that Neil, the Saturday evening bartender would pour a pitcher of Labatt when he would notice us walking in. Over the span of years (yes years) we were regulars there and we loved it. Once in a while, we'd bring along our friends and family and shoot baskets in the back. Everyone always had a good time. We still go back from time to time when we're in the neighborhood. I love this bar! Cheap drinks, great burgers, what more can you ask for? One great thing about this bar is the hours they keep - open around 8am, you can go in anytime for a meal. The daytime bartender, Hazel, is especially fantastic, and so sweet. She's worked there for forty years, and is one of the nicest bartenders you'll ever meet! I would be lying if I said this isn't my second home :) this place has thee BEST mozz sticks. I mean have you ever bit into something so crunchy with oozing cheese melting right into your mouth while tastebuds just dance within your mouth!? Such a beautiful moment. The outdoor pool table is awesome, and any bar that lets you play basketball for free gets a +1 star out of me. :-) Great fun atmosphere. Drinks are kind of pricy, but don't be surprised if by your 3rd drink you're not charged every time you order, or not charged for everything you order. Their food is good, their portions are huge, and their prices are more than fair for food. They only take cash so stop at the ATM before you arrive, but it's a good bar. read more

This is a very good sports bar that is hidden away in GPP. Since my alma mater is in the Pac 10, it's very difficult to see their football games. This place will forever have my loyalty for having a west coast feed of FSN so that I could watch the Big Game! My point is, if they can pick up a low-profile matchup like that, they'll have just about any game. read more

Let's start with the cool things , this place has a room with a pool table and it's private In the back. My wife and I like going here to play pool by ourselves . The outside has basketball hoops and corn hole. The issue is if u are not a smoker which we are not it smells horribly and it sucks to play. The drink suck, they are over priced and come in a small plastic cup. We ordered two vodka and cranberry's (Tito's vodka) and it was 15 bucks. I was blown away . The decor looks like it has never been updated and it is definitely in need of a deep cleaning . This bar has so much potential , it's big, has a huge out door space and is in a great location. I hope someone takes this over and really puts some love into it . Go during the week during the day to avoid all the smokers and smell. Also it only takes cash . I literally stay close enough to use their WiFi which is named "gloryhole." Strike 1! So every weekend since I've been living close by this place,it is almost always crowded. They have a deck and you can see the smoke clouds for blocks from the cigarette smoke. That's OK so I finally get the courage to stop in 1 night despite all the previous reviews I've read I figured they were all 3 years old I'd give it a shot for myself. I walk in and the bar wasn't crowded at all. No greeting from the bartender or waitress. Seated myself at the bar and me being a beer drinker I look for the taps. Almost none existing. So I said to myself "1 shot and I'm leaving." Bar tender just looked at me said what can I getcha? A shot of fire ball. It came to me in a plastic cup and looked like 3-5 drops and he says $5. For a plastic cup of fire ball? I paid and thought that's that. Looked around and seen some video games in the back. As I made my way through the old decor( in need of a good cleaning just like every other yelp review) I noticed all kinds of empty cups and bottles everywhere. It reminded of a college frat house with no den mother. I get to the games that was so out dated I couldn't even remember playing these games as a kid and I'm 43. Needless to say after I realized I had been in awe over this ancient game,I slammed my few eye drops and left. My wife and I were here for a birthday party this past weekend and had not been here in a while. We were amazed at how this place that we frequented a few years back has gotten so run-down. With the exception of some newer looking TVs everything else is old, worn out and looks filthy. The dingy carpet, dust clumps and stains on the ceiling, the nicotine film stained walls, the worn out and banged up furniture, the shabby looking bar, the cigarette butt covered patio. The server behind the bar did a great job however. She was very busy keeping up with our large party as well as the customers at the bar. But Excalibur you could do so much better.
