When I started using the feed it was obvious that the hole was from a rodent, the feed had paper shavings from the bag, and other questionable debris. I'm sure it's OK but makes me wonder how old some of the things they're selling are, and if outdates are checked. I always want to support local business, will probably still shop there but will pay very close attention to what I buy.

But there's something about being around plants that makes me happy. My mom has the most beautiful garden, so when she came to Chico to visit me, I thought she'd love the Plant Barn. It turns out, we both did! I appreciated the welcoming employees, but they also didn't hover. We were able to stroll the property, and admire all of the beautiful plants. It was really peaceful. Although I didn't buy anything, I spotted a few things in the gift shop that will likely bring me back. I've returned a few things like a bed frame for a twin bed (around $130, unused and box was unopened which made the return easier), and some reflective heat shields for insulation and weatherizing homes that I returned (around $50, unused so the return was easier). There were a few items I wanted to return but didn't or it was too late.
