Botched brake repair jeopardized the life of me and my son. When confronted about the negligent…read morework, the owner, Peter became defensive and belligerent. I am sending him a demand letter (see pictures) today and am prepared to follow up with a complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair and file suit. Other work was ok, but not problem free. I see that the owner responded to my review. My friend did indeed work on my brakes. He replaced the rotors and the brake pads. He didn't touch the hydraulics. Sunrise Auto did the work on the hydraulic lines for the left front wheel brakes. The failure of my brake system occurred because the brake line work was not properly done. Sunrise Auto placed the flexible brake line where it would rub on the inside wheel well, ultimately causing a break in the line and a failure of hydraulic pressure. As I said, this botched repair job put my son at risk of serious bodily injury or death from traveling in a vehicle with no brakes. Here's my personal message to you, Peter. You evidently ignored my demand letter because I didn't receive payment. The next step is the Bureau of Automotive Repair. And after that I will pursue other legal remedies. I hope the readers of my review and your response will take heed and will take their business to another mechanic who performs reputable work.

After the first check, they said everything was fine. The brake sensors said they needed replacement but were actually wrong. I appreciated that they didn't just replace my brakes and take my money, honestly means a lot, especially in the auto industry. I still felt like there was something to be looked at and they had me come in and drive with their technical manager, Lorne. They were more than accommodating, Lorne was very thorough and talked me through everything and showed me what I needed to look for when they will need replacement. I appreciate that. They stand by their work and we'll make things right if someone doesn't feel like it is. I now feel safer and reassured that my car is good to drive. I told them I was going to try and find someone that could arrive sooner than that and I'd call them back if I couldn't find a faster alternative. They called me less than 5 minutes later with a "cancellation" and said they could be there in 20 minutes. They said they needed to do a "diagnostic check" first for $250 to determine the issue. I told them that the issue was that I needed a new battery and they said that they needed to decide that themselves and ensure there was no underlying issue. I had already found another mobile mechanic that could come out for $150, so I told them that and they said that they could apply $200 of the $250 to the labor cost should I use them to fix the issue. They showed up 20 minutes later as promised and looked at the battery, said it was 6 years old and needed to be changed. I already knew that!! They did not look at anything else, test anything else or do any diagnostics. The didn't even test the battery. Even though I told them the battery was the issue and they had my car's make, model and year, they didn't bring a battery with them so they had to leave and come back. That took around 45 minutes. He came back with an estimate of $850, with a $200 credit bringing it down to $650. The cost of the battery on the first estimate was $350, so $350 battery +$250 service call - $200 = $400, not $600, so I asked about the $200 credit. Well, guess what, the labor cost for the 7 minutes he spent installing the battery was an additional $200! I also googled the cost of a battery and found it was not more like $250 rather than $350, so he gave me a $50 discount on that and in the end, I paid $600 for a new battery. After thinking about this and talking it over with several friends and family members about this, I feel like I was ripped off by this company and won't go back or recommend them.

Well, this past Saturday my car wouldn't start, so I was told by a very good friend that I take it to TN3 Automotive, which I did (Had my car towed) on Tuesday. I'd previously contacted the owner, Tom, informing him my car was being towed to his shop, and so he took basic information regarding what types of issues I'd been experiencing, which I provided. I met Tom the following day, and he was genial, kind, listened intently, and just a solid individual through & through. He exudes honesty & integrity, and assured me he'd locate the issue, and he did just that. The thoroughness of his Teams assessment of my vehicle, every part captured by clear photos that included a specific narrative of my car parts issue, and whether it was deemed an emergency fix, or just watch & keep an eye on it was noted, & reassuring. Not once did he advise that I needed this or that done to my vehicle, but clearly enunciated in line of priority things I should take care of. Richard (the owner and mechanic) was super responsive to my calls and texts, even on the weekend. He went and picked up all the parts from the dealer and then came straight to my house to do the work. I had my thermostat, thermostat housing, and water pump replaced all in one go. With kids and work, taking my car into a shop is always a pain, so having him come to me was a huge plus. His prices were about the same or cheaper than other quotes I got, which was awesome because it's basically like DoorDash for a mechanic--except he doesn't upcharge just for bringing the service to you. You can tell he really cares about doing quality work too--he even spent extra time cleaning up all the old oil and grease. No waiting rooms, no rides back and forth, just easy and stress-free.
