My pre-surgery AHI was around 35, and after surgery my follow-up sleep study showed an AHI of approximately 2.9. The improvement was dramatic, and I'm extremely grateful to Dr. Choi for the surgical outcome and the impact it has had on my health. More recently, I needed mandibular hardware removed, and Andrea was excellent throughout the process. She helped get everything scheduled quickly, kept things moving, and also helped sort out the billing issues. That made a stressful situation much easier to manage. In addition to the standard costs associated with treatment, I was informed of a $7,500 "surgical planning fee," along with other charges that are not covered by insurance. As a result, my out-of-pocket costs for an otherwise covered jaw surgery would exceed $10,000. None of the other surgeons I consulted with assessed similar fees. I am also disappointed by the delays surrounding my imaging refund. In March, I was advised that the imaging costs would be refunded once the insurance claim was processed. I received confirmation is was processed in April. It is now nearly July, and I have been told that it may take an additional 30 to 45 days to receive reimbursement.

### An Exceptional Dental Experience with Dr. Chan!…read more I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with **Dr. Chan**! I have a **serious dental phobia**, so having a tooth extracted was something I was extremely anxious about. However, Dr. Chan completely changed my perspective and made the entire experience **pleasant, comfortable, and virtually stress-free**. He extracted my tooth, and I experienced **no pain or discomfort** during the procedure. He took the time to make sure I was properly sedated and comfortable throughout the entire process. He even started my IV himself--and as someone who knows a thing or two about IVs, I have to say his skills were **almost as good as mine! ** What really stood out to me was Dr. Chan's **excellent bedside manner**. He was patient, reassuring, professional, and genuinely caring. Even more impressive, **he personally called me the day of my surgery to check on how I was doing**.
