Friendly, educational. But most importantly, flawless oral surgery. We wish Dr Chan could be our regular dentist!

It is a challenging choice to write a review for a healthcare provider with your real identity, and…read moreit's doubly challenging to do so with a healthcare provider who has a partnership with the SB sheriff's department. Sellas is a very available dentist and saw me within a week of my referral; something I assumed was coincidental but quickly learned was a result of his loss of composure and professionalism. If you were booked for a procedure without consultation, that isn't convenient or a mistake. That is an intentional process so that you are prepped for surgery and then rushed for the bill before anything can go forward. The staff, particularly one individual, is VERY pushy about the billing. They will attempt to get you to sign up for an aggressive credit card to pay the bill. Additionally, if you don't have a good relationship with your dentist, you may fall for their predatory desire to go for more procedures than are needed. His inappropriate bedside manner began when he was going over the procedure with my partner and me and didn't end when I had a conversation with him on my post-surgery check-up. I have not and probably never will be an oral surgeon, but I know it's not okay to tell male patients that they're lucky they're not a woman because oral infections are more likely for people on their period. He also made snide remarks about my career and my income in both of my meetings with him. In fact, it was that 2nd time that made me pull him aside and discuss his unprofessional language, but it's probably all for not, as you can't teach an old dog new tricks, especially if that old dog was doing very well for themselves in regards to number of patients (He'll tell you that he's done +100,000 surgeries). I wondered how he was so successful in his practice by referrals alone, but he didn't let me wonder long. He's happy to tell you he's the oral surgeon for the county jail. If you're unfamiliar with that type of work, it's a very lucrative career move that isn't a result of effective and good medical practice. Lastly, if you're on his staff, what you think he's probably saying about you when no one is listening is what he is probably saying. TL;dr: CONS: Sellas is not afraid to bother and annoy you once you've paid him. He will attempt to do unnecessary procedures. He's a jail dentist with a cop attitude. He has issues with communicating to-and-about women. When given a chance to discuss his inappropriate manner alone he proceeded to double down and tell me about his relatives business on giving "boob jobs" and how the credit card partnership is on behalf of his "women" (staff). Pros: Widely available for all reasons mentioned above.

The greeting from the women when you walk in is so warm and welcoming. Everything was explained so well. Dr. Sellas was kind and straight forward and my wisdom teeth extraction was scheduled for the next week! The day I got my surgery I walked in (a little loopy from the Valium) and they took perfect care of me from the start. The day of surgery, the numbness was the worst part! The next day I woke up feeling great! Barely any pain! I didn't opt for them to take my blood and spin it and get the stem cells (I think) out to inject into the holes where the teeth were. I'm not sure if that was the saving grace, or just that Dr. Sellas is that good! Haha. But either way, it was fantastic and two days later it was like I never even had surgery. I will be taking all my kids here for their wisdom teeth! What a wonderful experience from A to Z!

I went here in 2024 after being referred by my dentist for a root canal. I typically tolerate pain very well, but my experience here was off the charts excruciating. The dentist who treated me stopped in the middle of the procedure to give me "a break" because I was in obvious agony. I was actually sobbing, the pain was so bad. The dentist even gave me additional local anesthesia. The dentist and her assistant were not empathetic at all and continually carried on a casual conversation with each other during my whole procedure. I just kept hearing, "We're almost done." To add injury to insult, they overcharged me and I took my complaint to my insurance company, who by the way were not as helpful as they could have been. Make sure you get an explanation of benefits (EOB) from your insurance. I discovered they had billed me for a service not received. It took me over a month to get a refund because the person who handles accounts kept telling me they only reconcile the accounts monthly. I followed up with a complaint to my insurance company and to my dentist. I also ended up with a drippy sinus afterwards for at least 10 days following the procedure. In my own personal opinion, I would never go back to this office.

They use digital ex-rays with the newest equipment. I went in for a crown because a tooth had fractured. It was a very relaxing trip to the dentist especially with the tranquil view and adept staff... Afterwards I went to a dental school thinking I could save a few bucks, so I signed up to be a patient for one of their student's exam. During the exam, as I was being shown to the instructors for grading: each of their first words were, "That's a really nice crown you have there." I would love to keep Dr. Gallion as a dentist no matter where I go! I've had some bad experiences recently. I'm really thinking of making a trip just to keep him as my dentist. ..Dentists are scary..I went to a dentist who was teaching his assistant. He was helping check on a filling he had put in. He started flossing and the filling popped out. As he explained to his assistant what to do he took a drill and started 'cleaning the area' around the hole.. No notice, nothing to numb the area; was in and out in 80 seconds..

I feel bad saying this, but I regret that I went to Dr. Lu for three years. The best thing I can say about her is that she is very thorough. However, here is a list of just some of my issues with her: -the tremor -she was often late for appointments, sometimes over an hour -she told me I needed a root canal when I didn't actually need one. She told my husband he needed one too, but he was smart enough to get a second opinion who said he definitely did not -the color she recommended for my root canal's crown does not match my natural teeth (see pic) -the crown itself was inappropriately sized and ground down the enamel on my bottom tooth, which I now need another crown for -she recommended my husband and I get a $150 gum treatment once a year. Every other dentist we've gone to previously and since has applauded our gum health and hygiene habits and has not recommended gum treatment. I really do feel bad for posting this but I know Dr Lu sees a lot of Loma Linda students and residents and I don't want others to get taken advantage of like I was :(
