Had my haircut with Jasmine today and it was exactly what I was looking for! In fact I almost didn't want to post because I want to keep her as my secret :) She understands curly hair!! She took her time, cut dry and diffused my hair, and patiently made small changes I requested afterwards. If you have naturally curly hair, go see her, you won't be disappointed. read more

Too expensive for a strip mall salon, with absolutely no ambiance. The music was so loud it gave me a headache. They messed up my appointment, so I had to get just a cut, and come back for the color. Stylist left me sitting and waiting for her several times. When she put the color on, she went into the back room and didn't come back out for 40 minutes. Not that I expect her to chat me up, but she certainly could have checked on me a few times. I was starting to worry about the color processing. Not impressed. Most of the stylists were under 30. Definitely caters to a younger clientele. One of the worst salon experiences I've had. Don't waste your money. read more

I am new to San Antonio and have only had one person cut and color my hair in for the last 6 years, so find a new hair dresser was really scary to me! I came in for a test run and had Sarah cut my hair. Nothing crazy just a trim and some layers! And it came out amazing so I'm so pleased. I will be going back I am blonde and she even recommended some products for me to use that I bought and absolutely love! I'm Hoping to get in soon so we can freshen up my color, I haven't had highlights added or anything in about a year so I'm looking forward to going back and seeing her! Thank you Sarah!!!! read more

Eunice is the best! A true professional! I have gotten so used to stylists not actually listening to what I want that I've kind of given up on being happy with a haircut. I have learned to settle for "OK" haircuts. Eunice asks questions about my hair I've never been asked before and she keeps asking until she understands. I love her attention to detail. Because of it I have a haircut and color I LOVE. Give her a call, you won't be disappointed! read more

Ive been going to evolve for about 3 years now and every time has been great. Marigold has been my stylist for awhile now and she is AMAZING!!! She truly goes above and beyond for her clients and knows exactly how i like my hair. She really makes the haircuts compliment my face. She is so compassionate and you can tell she loves what she does. I havent worked up the courage to dye my hair yet, but when i do im for sure going to her! Her work is amazing read more

I have not had my hair cut in 2 years since moving back home from Mesa, AZ to San Antonio, TX. I loved the way the stylist did it so much that I did not want to go to anyone else (I was even planning a trip back to AZ to include a trip to the stylist in addition to visiting old friends). But, after Marley Lopez took the time to talk to me like a friend (not just a customer), and getting to know her more, I feel comfortable coming back. She was extremely personable, a great listener, and passionate about her job. Marley is a genuine individual who took the time to pay just the right amount of attention to me from the moment she walked me to my seat to the moment I left the salon. She explained every step of the hair treatment, hair cut, styling devices, and conditioning sample instructions afterwards. Thank You Marley! It was very nice to meet you! Go Mavs Go! read more

I went to my first appointment at Evolve salon and the apt was just okay. They had blaring music that was kind of annoying but I was overall okay with how my hair was done until I got to the checkout and it was $300 when I was quoted $214. As I was checking out she suggested a product that I was interested in trying but before I bought it I asked if I'm able to return it because I know I'm really sensitive to smells & get migraines easily. I was told yes no problem. Fast forward and I ended up wanting to return it. Drove to the salon (30 min away) on a Sunday at 4 pm and they were closed (hours on the door say open until 6 pm) so that meant I had to make that drive a second time today and was told that no I cannot return it because I didn't keep the receipt. The salon is able to look up and view WHEN and WHAT product I purchased but yet I'm not able to do a return ..I was told I'm able to exchange for something else. I feel like they should have told me their policy when I specifically asked them at checkout especially since it was my first visit there. They also refused to give me the difference in change from the product I was exchanging for. I feel like I spent $300 on my hair to be treated like garbage. read more

I saw Sarah for a color and cut in March and really liked her. I'd been seeing the same stylist for a few years and getting the same result, so I appreciated Sarah's suggestions for new ways to style my hair and new products to help manage it. The salon was spacious and clean, and located right off 1604. I would recommend Sarah to anyone! read more

Shawna R has been styling my hair for at least 4 years. She is amazing & so professional. I usually get highlights & low-lights. She blends the color so beautifully that it looks natural. Highly recommend her & her salon. Evolve is very clean & everyone is so nice. They have handled the health restrictions with Covid with the utmost cleanliness to ensure the safety of their staff & their customers. Highly recommend Shawna R! read more

I have had great experience at Evolve! After searching the internet and Yelp for a new salon I decided to try Evolve based on reviews and location. I started with Marley and always loved what she did even when I wanted to chop my hair off and go for a pixie-ish cut. When she moved I started going to Katelynn and I love the color she has done on my hair too! Super friendly and helpful when I describe what I want to try. So glad I found this salon and stylist! read more

I first started going to Jasmine because she is a certified Devacurl stylist, and have never left disappointed. As many curly girls know, finding the right stylist is very tricky, because not everyone really understands different curl types and how to cut and style properly. I feel like every time I go, she just keeps getting better. I would highly recommend her to anyone, curly or not. read more

I made an appointment here after seeing a friend's haircut that I loved. Eunice cut my hair and did a fabulous job! I've been looking for a new salon near my home and everything about this visit was perfect. Love my cut! Love the service! I will be returning! read more

Kaitlyn has been doing my hair for almost a year now and every single time I go she amazes me... my hair is long and I don't take a lot care of it and when I leave everytime it looks amazing for months! Love love this place! I go to Jasmine and she has done nothing but amazing work on my hair. I've gotten balayage and cut about 12 inches off while going to see her- never disappointed. I've started referring my friends to her too and they are all so happy with their hair! read more

Go see Marley! Went in for cut & Balayage... color is beautiful & best cut I've had in a vet long time. I have curls & love them but it's very hard to find a good curly hair stylist. Marley even taught me a few new techniques to take care of them. read more

Marley did an amazing job with my cut and full highlight. The price was extremely reasonable. Very nice Salon filled with wonderful people!

This was my first time and I was very happy with my results. I saw Kaitlin and she listened to what I wanted and delivered excellent results. She was very friendly and also the front desk receptionist was very friendly as well. I had an 11am appointment, I arrived around 10:50 and I was seen right away. I was very pleased with the results of my haircut and I will be back. read more

I had an unfortunate experience at Evolve Salon. I was scheduled for an appointment with Jasmine, via a friend's referral. I arrived early and waited for her to finish with the client prior. This would be my first visit with her. At a few minutes past my appointment time, Jasmine greets me. She asks me to follow her back to her section and offers to put my belongings up in a cupboard. She then proceeds to sit down in front of me. I found this odd, but figured that it was potentially a consultation prior to her cutting my hair. Jasmine proceeds to ask me "what I had in mind for my hair today". I explained how I typically wear my hair and what my ultimate goal was. After this, she asked what guidance I was given by the receptionist when I booked the appointment. I replied that I had not received any guidance. She looked annoyed with my response. She then asked if I got a name when I booked the appointment. I replied that I had not. She then asked, if they had an accent. I replied that, they did have an accent. She rolled her eyes, and exhaled loudly with annoyance. She explained that the "receptionist should have told me that I shouldn't have worn my hair like 'THAT'. (Let me be clear in that my hair was down, and brushed back off of my face, with minimal product, soft to touch.) I was taken aback, but continued to inquire. She explained that in order for her to do a good job, that my hair "couldn't be crispy or worn like that. It can have product in it, but it cant be crispy or slicked down." This was off-putting for several reasons. 1.) She only asked 1 or 2 questions about my hair which is the point of my visit. She was presumptive, and did not touch my hair or partake in a hands-on inspection. 2.) if there is disdain for your coworker, as a client, that is not something you should display in front of me regardless if she did or did not follow protocol. 3.) She was blatantly condescending. And the more questions I asked, the more annoyed she became. She was presumptive in that I should have automatically understood what she meant, though she was vague in her responses. She proceeds to tell me she cannot see me today. She said "sorry that the receptionist didn't tell you, but she's new." And she walks me up to the front so fast, she doesn't bother to provide me my belongings. While at the front with the receptionist she just shamed and disrespected in front of me, she books a follow up. I ask her to reiterate her instructions so that I can make sure I properly plan and also because I was not sure I totally understood. She looked at me with disgust, and proceeded to provide a vague explanation on what I should be doing. She reiterated that my hair should not be "crispy, slicked back or look like 'that'." And if I have any further questions, I can "youtube DIVA cuts. I don't have any video of me cutting hair, but you should be able to find other diva cuts." I said thank you and walked out. I got in my vehicle and was stunned by the experience. Above all else, Jasmine was unprofessional and lacked effective communication skills. Rather than disrespecting her coworker and myself, she could have 1. washed my hair that she assumed was the derogatory way in which she described 2. educated me properly if she felt I was ignorant about her, her profession or the services she provides. Unfortunately, none of that happened. I called back to cancel my appointment, because a haircut is not worth my self respect. read more

Love getting a haircut from Sarah. She is a great listener to what I need. For the first time in 3 years I think I'll be able to let my hair grow out thanks to her skills read more

I was in search of a curly girl to cut my hair so I stumbled upon Jasmine to shape my 3c-4b natural hair. I showed her some pictures of shapes and she executed perfectly. Started coming here on my sister's recommendation. The staff is very friendly and the place is well kept. Eunice is my stylist of choice. She talks to you to understand exactly what you want before starting. I've gotten both color and textured haircuts and have always been highly satisfied. I recently moved near Castroville and refuse to change stylist so I still make the drive. This salon gets five stars. read more

I have really enjoyed this salon! Jasmine does an excellent job listening to her customers concerns and making sure that they are satisfied with their hair. She encouraged me to communicate with her to make sure that I really was comfortable and liked what she was doing to my hair. I have very curly hair and she was the first place I've gone to in order to have the Deva Cut done on my hair. I don't typically trust just anyone to cut it, therefore it was huge that she cut and styled my curly hair just the way I had imagined. She is very knowledgeable in her line of work and will answer any questions you may have about the texture, or how to achieve the look you are wanting. I was extremely pleased with the line of products she recommended to use depending on your specific hair type and I have felt very comfortable going in and trusting that she will take care of me. I have and will continue recommending this salon to friends that are looking for a reasonable price and great customer service. read more

Disappointed..... :'( I first came to Evolve in Feb. by recommendation of a friend. I had color done by Marley. As she was recommended. It was not exactly the color I was expecting but was told it was because she wanted to keep the integrity of my hair. I understand that but at over $200 a wack that's just NOT in my budget. My regular hairdresser lightens my hair with no issues. So went to her for a few painted pieces BUT wound up with a FULL lighten job on bottom of hair which destroyed my beautiful hair :'( She should have KNOWN better. As it took me several years to get healthy. I was really upset at the job she did and what she did to my hair!!! I did NOT want to go back to her to even let her do a treatment or cut. I felt being a hairdresser she should have known better and asked more questions. So there was NO mix up as to what I was wanting! So , I came here again to Marley for her to cut it and see about fixing what was done. I knew it was to over processed to fix the this at this time. I showed her a picture of how I wanted it cut and told her how I wore my hair. It was longer in around the bottom / back than the front. I wanted it cut to my shoulders or just below. Well when she got done I was mortified to say the least. It looked NOTHING like the pic and was not attractive on me at all. It was longer in the front and shorter in the back and just slightly above my shoulder. I pointed this out but she said it looked good. Well, that's NOT what I asked her to do. I got home and fixed it up a little and noticed it was longer on one side than the other in the front so called back. Said to come back the next day. I again showed her the pic and told her it was not the same. Told her it was dragging my face down. So she textured it a little around the bottom back to make it a little less heavy. I still really wasn't happy but didn't want her to mess it up any more. I told her it still wasn't loving it but she said if she textured it anymore it would be cutting into the length. That is NOT true!!! It was not what I was asking or what the pic looked like at all! So I again left disappointed. I honestly at this point didn't even want to go out in Public I hated my hair cut this much! :'( So I researched another Salon because I had really good results from them in the past before moving here years ago. I went there on 4-24 and showed her the pic of how I wanted it cut and how it was cut. She agreed. It was NOT cut the same. It was cut in a Bob style cut and longer in the front. It drug my face down and not attractive on me at all. Also due to the fact that it had been cut TO SHORT it could NOT be cut like the pic. :'( She did give it shape like the pic but it will have to grow out a lot in order for it to look like the pic. I have NO length to pull around the front. I'm so UPSET because I paid $95 for service there in total with tip. Also $90 at my old hairdresser and then another $70 yesterday to correct the BAD haircut Marley did here.... read more

Cool place and amazing customer service! I went in for a balayage, and played it safe with the color. I wasn't happy with it, even though it was what I requested, and Eunice took me back the next day and made it AMAZING! Marley, Marley, MARLEY! She is so talented. I came to her from a referral from a Great friend. I called the Salon and told them that I wanted to book an appointment. You can tell they value their customers. I checked in early to my appointment, as soon as I checked in I was greeted with a smile and a delicious Cucumber infused water. As soon as Marley was finished with a client she greeted me. We both noticed that we were from the same sorority so that was cool having a sister work on my hair. I immediately let Marley know that I was super nervous. I let her know that I had been seeing the same stylist for 13 years and since I moved I can't go back and see her. She calmed me with ease and a smile and welcomed me into her chair. I showed her what I wanted to do and it was a complete transformation. Marley truly knows how to treat her clients. It also helps that she works in a very supportive and fun environment. The conversation that we had just flowed. She is so easy to talk to! She gave me a beautiful rose gold color and the perfect cut. You can tell those stylists are good friends. They all support each other! I loved this Salon and when I went to pay for my services, I was greeted with coupons that was the greatest. I definitely found my new hair stylist and ! Anyone that is looking for a salon with excellent accommodations and service go to Evolve. If you can get into her booked schedule definitely ask for Marley it will be one of your best decisions! First time i saw this place was on a Monday, needed a haircut so called and scheduled an appt for same week on a Friday, thinking I'd be served at the time of scheduled appt and not have to wait, NOPE Waited 15 mins then while my wife waited in the waiting area my hair was cut by a woman who was wearing something I would consider WAY too revealing, more like lingerie. VERY uncomfortable! Her breasts were showing, all but her nipples, her skirt was entirely too short! I normally like to have a shampoo when I have my hair cut but I skipped this time because I was so uncomfortable. This woman was practically nude with exception to her apron. I will not be going back. I would NEVER say this is family friendly place to get hair cuts simply because the women there were ALL dressed very provocatively. I was embarrassed and just wanted out of there as quickly as possible. I raise my children to have self respect and my boys to respect women, THIS place does not encourage modesty to say the least or self respect. read more

My mom was in town visiting for Mother's Day and kept telling me that she felt her usual hair stylist didn't do a very good on her recent haircut. My mom has very short hair that's a mix between a pixie and a Mohawk. It's short on the sides but not shaved. She wanted it fixed so I started looking for a salon on Yelp and came across this one. I like the reviews and the pictures. We called to see if they accept walk ins and they made us a same day appointment. We got there and Marley was our stylist. She was a total sweetheart and really down to earth and listened to what my mom wanted. Instead of trying to fix it and possibly messing it up even more she told my mom to wait and let her hair grow out some more and she showed my mom how to style her hair in a way she loves. She was honest and gave great advice. We were extremely happy !! My mom made an appointment to go back and I will be making one too ! read more
