Sarah was very attentive and listened to what I needed. She mentioned that when the salon gets busier, everyone has a lot of fun and it can get a little loud with people, singing and laughing and talking everywhere. If I'm ever in an extra outgoing mood, I'll book my appointment for when it's a little busier and just see what that's all about :-) Drea at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Disappointed with this salon's billing practices. I was required to pay a $25 deposit to book my appointment that was in an hour, quoted $150 for a trim and toner, and paid the full $150 plus a generous tip at checkout, expecting the $25 deposit charge to be a temporary hold. The $25 charge never fell off. When I called the salon to ask about it, I was told that the deposit was deducted from the services total, however, this was not explained to me that way at the time of booking or check out. Had that been made clear, there would have been no confusion. What was most disappointing was the response: no apology, no effort to clarify and the call was abruptly ended. Based on the questionable pricing practices and unprofessional handling of a simple question, I will not be returning. I hope they will improve transparency and customer service moving forward. read more

The hairstylist did a good job on my hair. The 3 stars are for customer service and vibe. My hairstylist was completely silent the entire time she worked on my hair , this was a first to me compared to other salons I've been. No engagement of a conversation, she seemed like she didn't want to work or be there. Also, when I called that I was going to be 15 minutes late, she sighed and said "ok, I'll let her know" but with an attitude. The other hairstylist working behind us was also silent to her customer. I had gone here before and stopped going because they got water all over my back and the employee barely apologized for it. But I decided to give it a second chance. That was a huge mistake because their new policy of late charge is outrageous. I agreed to the $25.00 to book my daughter's hair cut. Something came up that we could to cancel/reschedule so I called the salon and asked if I could move the appointment she said yet but it would be another $25.00. So I didn't move it, because I didn't feel that was right, the young lady suggested that I keep the appointment and hope for a cancellation for the day of her appointment. At the time I made this call it was 24hrs prior to her appointment and I agreed. While speaking to the employee she did not once state that a same day cancellation would incur another charge and that would be $50.00. I received no calls about moving her appointment so I made the decision to just lose the $25.00 or so I thought. I called and was told it is a same day cancellation now there is another fee of $50.00 added. So that would total $75.00 for no services at all!!! I have never heard of such a thing, why not even a doctor does that. Plus I completely understand the $25.00 fee but to add $50.00 more is just wrong! I spoke with the manager who waived that second fee since I had not been informed of until the second call. Needless to say we won't ever go back to this salon. I looked online prior to coming and saw that they advertised all over color from 71-91$. I made an appointment for an all over color and nothing else. My hair is brown, and the length is just below my shoulders. I got it a bit of a richer brown color and the stylist blow dried it. I will say I'm happy with the color. However, prior to making the appointment you have to put down a 25$ deposit which goes towards your total. My total ended up being 142 and later I saw that they charged the 25$ separately. I called and said you charged me twice, and the woman explained that the total was 167$ (before tip) for the all over color. I told her that I wish that had been explained to me prior because it cost almost 200$ for an all over color and blow dry. She said each stylist has their own charges and they're on a sliding scale. To me, that's ridiculous. You should be forth coming with the total or approximate prior to starting. 200$ to make my hair brown to darker brown is insane. Like I said I like the color but would never have spent that much or made the appointment if I had known ahead of time. read more

My 7 year old daughter & I went in on 1/13/24 for haircuts w/ a blow dry & requested a beachy wave style. Brittany was amazing & gave me a DRY cut & beach wave style (no shampoo or blow dry) & it says $37-$58 on their website. My daughter got a shampoo, blow dry & beachy wave style, which says $55-$87 on their website. Both of us have shorter, thinner hair. They charged us $61 each, then applied an additional charge of $20. After emailing back-and-forth, Stephanie called me on 1/18/24 & informed me $61 is what they charge minimally for a shampoo, cut & blow dry regardless of whether they cut your hair wet or dry & regardless of your age or the hair length & the extra $20 charge was because I requested beach waves when they styled my hair. Stephanie said I should have been told all of this at time of services, which I wasn't, then told me she would do a one time refund for the $20 extra charge, which I thanked her for. I then let her know that the Evolve Salon website says a dry cut begins at $37 with which she replied "we don't offer that anymore." She said in the future when we return they won't be able to refund again. I let her know it would be helpful if they updated their website but we will not be returning to the salon because $142 for myself to get a dry trim & beach waves & my 7 yr old daughter to get a trim, blow dry & beach waves is a ridiculous amount. To which Stephanie did not appreciate the feedback & hung up on me. When a customer is trying to give someone corrective criticism & feedback about a business, that person/business should accept it & it's sad if the person they're speaking w/ gets upset & can't handle it in a professional manner. I did not appreciate Stephanie hanging up on me. I'm sorry if the truth of the matter is that your website says you offer a dry cut for a more inexpensive price & despite Stephanie saying "we don't offer that anymore," your website STILL shows that you offer it. So informing her of that, she should be open & appreciative of receiving that information & not act like a child, get upset & hang up on the customer. However, the website should probably be updated & having her hang up on me is extremely unprofessional. Regardless of Brittany being an amazing stylist, we will definitely not be returning especially when treated rudely by Stephanie. read more

I really loved the way my stylist listened to me. She also asked insightful questions. Her suggestions were spot on and really illustrated that she was listening. The salon has a system to make and keep notes so that you are not starting over when you come back. She also made a point to ask how the last cut and color worked and inquired about any changes I needed to make. It's a bit pricey, but everything is going up, so I understand. I finally found a colorist I liked ever since moving to SA (at a different salon), but not a stylist for haircuts yet. Decided to rely on handy dandy Yelp and after reading several reviews, checking out social media pages, and browsing through many photos I decided to take a risk and went with Evolve Salon for my haircut. Plus, it was close to home. I narrowed down my selection of 3 stylists from the look I wanted and examples of their work. After messaging them I received a response. Was a little disappointed with the response. There was no friendly tone to it and no "Thank you" or "We will see you on _____, Michelle!" No enthusiasm. I guess I expected more. My stylist showed up to the salon a few minutes late, but I guess that's fine. My appt was 9 am on a Saturday. I had my hair many colors, but have always kept my hair long. I came in with a bob cut in mind. I was nervous about chopping it off and this was a huge risk going with a brand new salon AND new stylist. After showing a photo of what I wanted and describing it to my stylist she went to work. She didn't talk much nor seem to care much for chit chat. I guess I was expecting to know a little more about her or for her to know a little more about me (just in case I decide to become a regular there). I'd like to have my stylist be personable, someone I can trust with my hair. In the end, my hair was shorter than what I wanted, but it turned out great. This salon is great! My daughter got an amazing trim! Just a clean up before school starts. I called, got an evening appointment the next day. Our stylist Kaitlyn is amazing. She spent the entire hour with my tween talking to her about caring for her hair and giving suggestions for styling. She received hair wash, cut, blow dry, flat iron, and gave her cute braids just like my daughter wanted. After trying a few other salons I decided to try Evolve Salon for color and cut and Jasmine simply exceeded my expectations. I explained to her what I was looking for as far as color and cut and she delivered results like a BOSS! She knew how to handle my curly but thin hair like no other salon has been able to and I am very pleased with the results. As far as the location, it is in a nice shopping area, building is nice and clean with very friendly staff. Although they welcome walk-ins, I wanted to set up an apt and they were able to get me one within two days. They have great hours to meet the demand of those that get off late from work. Honestly this was a really bad experience. The people are very nice and tried but they don't know how to do very normal 3c hair. i am still learning myself how to do my hair but from everything I found that works for my hair type and every YouTube video on the topic, they did everything wrong. The stylist used hardly any leave in product in my hair and used only a couple of sprays of mousse ???? There was no product to "clump" the curls. She then used just a detangling brush taking pretty big sections (like 6-7 for my whole head--I have a ton of really course hair--there is no way that is sectioned enough). It was a matted, undefined, straight-in-some-areas mess except for some curls at the ends of my hair. But I was patient and thought, "maybe she knows something I don't know". Nope. Then proceeded sit me just like that under a HOT dryer and then diffuse, while continuously moving and patting wet curls. My hair is already dry..i have highly porous, course, 3c mixed girl hair. The result was a huge fluffy mess that was the shape of the dryer. I thought "surely this is still several steps from done because if I got this result at home, I would know I have to reset my entire hair and start over or it's a ponytail day". To my horror, she asked me, "how does this look?" I wanted to cry. 2 hours and $100 later and my hair is worse than when I came in (I did no styling to my hair, as instructed, before coming). I told her "I can't go outside like this". They offered to re-wet it and try again. By the time the second person was done and a lot more product and some shingling, I could at least leave looking like an unhappy poodle ...which was far better than an angry Chaka Khan with a bad bob. They tried telling me the "misunderstanding" was that my hair is "unique" and needs to pay extra for the shingling (which is basically just seperating curls and a very normal process for girls with my hair type). No one who does black curly hair would use all that heat, no separation of curls and so little product. That is a recipe for an afro--and that's what they charged me $100 for. One of the girls mentioned that "Oh this is great- we just learned shingling in a class and now we get to use it" :-/ Overall, I was really disappointed. I said over the phone when booking that may hair is 3c and I am mixed. They placed me with a stylist they said knew how to style this hair type but based on the results and techniques used, I just cant see how that's true. I hope my cut comes out ok--it's way too hard to tell based on the horrific styling. ugh...I was looking forward to this appointment for weeks :( read more

She was super nice and explained my hair type and how to take care of my new color really well. I mean I gave her a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it. To start off, Marley was very welcoming with her friendly personality, when she walked me back to her chair! It's one thing to pay good money when you get great service. The second is, I've been in SA for 4 years and tried multiple salons for men's cuts and have paid up to $50 thinking maybe I just need to spend more to get better quality but I always seem to get a sub par job. I have curly long thin hair which seems to always give people trouble. So I usually hold off until I get back to my salons in the DFW or LBK. This was not the case with Marley, from her friendly personality to make you feel at home before you let a stranger cut your hair off. To seeing how every time she took the shears to make a cut, she was concentrated like she was going to battle lol! I could tell she loves her carrier and takes it serious. As she was cutting my hair I made the remark "do you trim beards?" She smiled and asked "what would you like?" I said "you're he professional make it looks good, I trust you". Too expensive for a strip mall salon, with absolutely no ambiance. The music was so loud it gave me a headache. They messed up my appointment, so I had to get just a cut, and come back for the color. Stylist left me sitting and waiting for her several times. When she put the color on, she went into the back room and didn't come back out for 40 minutes. Not that I expect her to chat me up, but she certainly could have checked on me a few times. I was starting to worry about the color processing. Not impressed. Most of the stylists were under 30. Definitely caters to a younger clientele. One of the worst salon experiences I've had. Don't waste your money. read more
