This is a great dance studio I'm sure. But I came for the infrared sauna. And let me tell you, this is probably the best infrared sauna studio I've ever been to. And I've been too many of them. What makes this one special is the attention to detail and the very personal customer service. The studio is extremely clean, I mean, impeccably. All of the towels smell fresh, all of the floors are freshly polished. Everything smells delightful. The sauna is top notch. It has a large infrared light bar, but it also has very strong, infrared light around the sauna otherwise, and on the ceiling of the sauna as well. and this one, you are also able to adjust it to other types of light such as blue, green, Amber, etc.You are also to control your own levels of heat. There is a television with prepaid Amazon prime channels. The Bluetooth speaker inside the sauna is loud and crisp, and of course you can control the levels and channels with the remote. The gentleman who helped me is named Ken. He gave me a nice tour of the studio upon arrival, and then showed me how to operate everything. He was extremely helpful and kind.Another nice thing is this sauna is very large. I was literally able to stretch out and recline. I think this will be my go to infrared sauna spot. read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but this is a poorly run business. I've taken quite a few classes here and have liked most of the instructors. The prices are about in line with other pole classes, but feel a little steep considering how... not very nice the space is, compared to other pole studios and other fitness classes at this price point (Pilates, etc.). My issue is with their cancellation policy. They charge a cancellation fee of TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS if you no-show or cancel within six hours. This is *in addition to* deducting the class from your pack (which, on its own, would be perfectly fair). So you can end up paying $74 for a class you didn't go to, when it would have been $47 if you'd gone. There is absolutely no legitimate business purpose for this, except that, I'm guessing, they're struggling to stay afloat. I even asked by email if I was understanding it correctly and why that would be the policy, since a class is already being deducted from the package, so they're not out anything. I got no response. I understand a cancellation fee if you have an unlimited membership to discourage people from overbooking and using slots that others could have taken. But to take full payment for that specific class, and then charge almost $30 on top, is just punitive. The real kicker in all of this is that I've never late cancelled or no-showed. I only found out about this policy because a guest instructor apparently forgot to check me in, and I got an email the next day saying I'd been charged an extra $27. To their slight credit, they refunded the cancellation fee as soon as I pointed that out. But I don't want to give my business to a place that would do this and I won't be back regardless. First of all, they are open. Not closed. Second, I understand rules and with many establishments I respect their rules. I got off late from work and traffic in Los Angeles is a hit or miss. I called to let them know I was late. No response. I was driving so I didn't realize the texts were coming from them. As you can see below, I replied back Aw man, okay. Because I respected their business. I didn't try to beg or make excuses. Although there isn't a notification saying you cannot be late. But their business wasn't professional enough to ensure they didn't send this to the correct person? I took a spin pole class and didn't learn any spin tricks. The whole class was choreography with a single inversion at the end. The instructor seemed confused about how to explain the tricks in the routine, and didn't demonstrate the routine first, so learning it felt like a fiddly slog. She also scolded the students during warm up (not in a fun friendly way) and when one girl tried to leave she seemed insulted. The music was super quiet. If I had to pick a word to describe the mood in three class, it would be "somber". read more

I was a loyal client at Evolve for about two years and purchased the unlimited package. At the time, I really enjoyed it. I met a few great friends and had a lot of fun. Teachers were hit and miss, but like most studios (or school of any kind), different teachers/teaching styles will mesh with different students. You just have to find what works for you.  This was, of course, pre-Covid. Going into details may not be helpful for people reading this, because who knows what things will look like in the future so specific comments may not be relevant when the studios reopen.  HOWEVER, I recently read Luis's review and at first I thought, this is NUTS. There's no way. But then I did a quick search, and yes, Lani rented out the downstairs room for gangbang porn shoots. Go to PornHub search for the production company. You'll find at least five. This was BEFORE Covid, while students still used the studio. LITTLE GIRLS used the downstairs room (and the ballet bars used in the videos) for their kids ballet class. These videos, if you look, have DOZENS of people doing their business all over the floor, ballet bars, and the thick mats that we used in inversion classes. And by "business" I mean ejaculate and vaginal secretions. DOZENS of people. Then we would go dance. Lots of skin to lots of surfaces. Using the thick mats as crash pads. This is so disgusting, I can't even process.  Lani allowed the Evolve logo painted on the wall to be left, clearly visible, during these films. Why? To get a thrill? Free advertising. It's mind blowing.  So, if you choose to go back to Evolve when studios are allowed to reopen, you've been warned. You'll be dancing on the bodily fluids of DOZENS of people. The owner of this business clearly has no regard for her clients. Absolute filth. Not to mention, these videos have seriously disturbing racist undertones. That's part of the specific genre. If Lani (a black woman) is ok with that, that's on her, but I'm certainly not. And the whole "women's empowerment" schtick of pole studios? Well, we all know porn contributes to/benefits from human trafficking and the subjugation of women. These videos in particular? I don't know, but I bet Lani doesn't know either. And I'm pretty sure she doesn't care to find out. read more

I took the twerking class taught by Sirabi. First time at the studio. I absolutely loved her class. She was so knowledgeable, patient, and broke all the steps down. I only wish she taught more than just once a week. I'm not interesting in taking pole classes. Therefore purchasing an unlimited package doesn't make sense for me. I really want to go back. However, the price for a single class is one of the highest for L.A. dance studios. I would have given it five stars for the class itself. The teacher was amazing, and her class was super fun! Staff and instructors were nice enough, but they overbooked class. Four of us had to share poles, meaning we only got half the workout and paid full price. Also since there were so many of us, we didn't get enough proper instruction/attention. The studio is sort of split up into two rooms with mirrors on opposite ends, so if you're looking at the instructor in main area, you're looking into a blank wall and can't watch yourself in the mirror to monitor your movements. I bought a set of classes off of groupon and needed help setting up my account to register for classes. You will need to take a screenshot of your voucher/code and email it to the studio to help you set it up. They did it really quickly and I was able to register for classes right away. My particular groupon was good for pole classes and/or sexy fitness classes. I was unsure of what counted as "sexy fitness classes" so I called the studio and was informed that with the groupon you may take ANY of the classes EXCEPT for their aerial classes. WOOHOO! After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email about the class and what to bring. Sensual Splits & Flexibility (Instructor: Taisha): I really enjoyed the instructor's energy. I had trouble understanding what she was doing (because I couldn't really see and my body can't bend like hers) but she did offer a variation of poses that were as effective and pushed my flexibility. Pole Poppin (Pole + Twerk - Instructor: Jame Elis): I've been wanting to try pole dancing/fitness for YEARS and saw that that this class was for available to all levels. I probably should've taken the beginning pole class before this but it's mind over matter! I'll say that some of the choreography can be advanced but you can always practice the less challenging moves until you're ready to move on. There are only 10 poles and you have to share. You'll take turns and there are some moves that you'll have to do together. Totally enjoyed the instructor's energy and would love to have her for another class. Pole Virgin - (Intro to Pole - Instructor: Lori Hirai) Lori was great! She explained some dance vocab and she split the room into two groups, one for newcomers/beginners and the other group that had a little more experience. In the beginning we did some stretches and showed us some floor moves to incorporate when you're not using the pole and showed variations with spins. For me, since I don't have a lot of upper body strength to perform them, she showed me other things I could do to strengthen my body so that one day, I can have that support to do spins. PARKING: There's metered street parking on Pico Blvd. (right in front of the studio), and free parking on Hayworth Ave (there's plenty of space there). You can also park in the back of their parking lot after 6pm and all day Saturday and Sunday. I would totally recommend trying this studio to anybody who's curious about pole dancing or some of the other classes that they offer. I've heard a lot of other girls say that they were trying the unlimited set of classes for the month for a reasonable deal. Don't be afraid to push your body to its limit, you'll never know where you can go. read more

I write reviews so infrequently but my friend and I came here Friday and we can't stop talking about it. So I just need to gush about how great this place is. I've been to a few pole studios on the east coast and in the LA area (not enough that I have any skill whatsoever, but enough to know which studios are better than others) and this is by far the best I've been to. First of all, this was the only place I've ever been to where a pole virgin class was actually full of pole virgins/people like me who might as well be virgins. There were a few people there who were much more experienced, but they were so encouraging and kind. I just got a strong vibe that this studio excels at community building. This was also the first place to let me rent stilettos and wowwwww I didn't realize how much more fun everything is in 5 inch platform stilettos. Rentals are $4 and totally worth it, especially as the shoes run like $60 online. (Not that I was looking to buy shoes after this class or anything....) I want to say Rebecca taught our class and she was great! She helped us all let loose and have more fun, even when we were struggling to pick up moves. Parking is free in the back. read more

Omg, I can't move. My muscles seriously got the most intense workout with Jamayka. I asked for it though. Told her that my inverts rely a lot on kicking my leg up to hook around the pole rather than relying on my muscle strength. So Jamayka had me do lots of strength conditioning so I can build arm and ab muscles. The class I attended only had 4 students - one for each pole. There was no specific class agenda which may be a turn off for some but I actually liked it because we all had different levels of experience with the pole. So at the beginning of the class, Jamayka asked each one of us what we would like to work on. She would spend some time with each student to work on a specific trick, then let you practice on your own while she rotated around to the other students. It was like a semi-private lesson. I was impressed by the studio space alone. I would actually rank Evolve as one of the top designed pole dance studios out of the ones I've been to. Located on the second floor, four shorter poles on one side of the room and four taller poles on the other side. Lounge area in the middle while you wait for classes to start. Lots of natural light coming in from the large tinted window (so perverted passerby's can't see you spinning around on a pole.) I also had the opportunity to take a Bellydance class. Fun workout for the abs! Shimmy shimmy shimmy :D I would like to come back and take more pole classes here. Prices are pretty competitive and I LOVE their studio space! read more

CLASSES I HAVE TAKEN: Pole Conditioning Fantasy Floor Work Pole Dancing (Pepa, Ann Marie, Fonta) Sexy Fit Stilettography Bikini Fit POLE DANCING: with Ann Marie Davies & Peppa Pou I started taking AnnMarie's classes again, so this is detailing Monday's Pole Conditioning, Fantasy Floorwork and Pole Dancing with AnnMarie. Ann Marie is a true professional. She has been doing pole and dancing for nine years and so you know you'll learn something from her. She is tough. A REAL tough cookie and sometimes yes, I am scared of her, but I know she's like that because she's trying to get the best out of you. Peppa is the Dance Hall Queen and it is amazing that she has only been pole dancing for 1.5 years. She's been dancing for several years already but pole dancing - you'd be amaze to learn only 1.5 years. She is very helpful and will spot you at any time. Very patient. I've been taking Peppa's pole class for several months (but now Peppa isn't teaching on Thursday at the time I'm there AND Mondays are freeing up for me) so I will try to take Ann Marie's class more often... and Peppa is really gentle with teaching me (and I love it) and teaches me step by step (like riding a bicycle). Ann Marie kicks my butt (in a good way) and really just tells you to do it. She told me the best way to learn is to just do it. So I did a semi-head stand (scary) and yes I need to practice (and I will) but she pushes you to do it and try it over and over, which is really helpful for me because I'm a scaredy-cat. It's kinda nice to have two different teaching styles teaching me. FANTASY FLOOR WORK with Ann Marie Davies Please bring Stilettos to this class. Be prepared to do moves SHY girls are uncomfortable with. You learn the things pole dancers/strippers do when they're not on the pole. You learn to crawl, get up, get down, roll over, spread eagle, go up and down the pole without getting on the pole, whip your hair, walk, etc. You really need to be comfortable with feeling sexy. Be prepared to get some floor burns (from crawling) - so I wear leggings or pants. POLE CONDITIONING with Ann Marie Davies Boot camp for pole dancers... be prepared to do A LOT of abs and upper body and just prepping to be on the pole. Very good workout. Will add more detail later. SEXY FIT with Nicole Rush Nicole is an amazing teacher. I'm addicted to her classes. She has an amazing body and it's inspirational. I go to her Thursday and Friday classes and her bootcamp in another studio. Yes, she is THAT good. Boot camp on stilettos The first half of the class - you wear sneakers. Then you do some cardio and muscle workout. You tone your arms, butt, legs (omg), abs (more omg), shoulders, etc. You just get a full workout. Many people will sweat. Half an hour of working out in sneakers, then we workout in Stilettos (you can wear short heels if you're uncomfy). We do some workouts with the stilettos on and then... we do Across the floor... which is dance moves across the floor that Nicole teaches. Then you learn a quick dance routine. Very fun. Very Beyonce. BIKINI FIT with Nicole Rush A shorter but STILL intense version of Sexy Fit. I did the abs routine and honestly - I work out a LOT - I was sore for two days. It could be a mixture of the other workouts as well, but it was my abs section. You'll def be ready for a bikini body with this workout. STILETTOGRAPHY with Nicole Rush If you love choreography... this is the class for you. She does a quick warm up and mini-sexy fit workout, but most of the time is Across the Floor (which is associated with the routine) and then a choreo piece. So fun. I love dancing and on stilettos it can be challenging, but you really feel sexy and grooving with this workout. SERVICE Lani and Mary - daughter/mother team - so sweet. I love talking to them and if you go often, they will remember your name. Very cute family run dance studio. :D This place does have good deals as well, so check the website often. read more

Learning how to pole dance has been on my bucket list for awhile, so I picked up the Groupon (3 fitness/dance class + 2 pole dance class) to see what the hype was all about. 1st time: 2 classes with my sister - Dance Hall Cardio with Peppa Pou: Pretty intense workout, she keeps you moving at least 45+ minutes out of the 60. You will sweat, shake your booty, and be sore the next day. - Intro/Beg Pole Dance with AnneMarie: AnneMarie is most definitely a toughie & I would not recommend taking your first class with her because she's not that encouraging. Also, even though it was suppose to be an Intro/Beg class, there were mostly students there who have obviously took a lot of classes before & knew how to do some of the complicated tricks. Our class got split in half, and she really didn't spend that much time with us. Did learn 2 spins & how to "walk around" the pole. She is very good at what she does, so maybe take her for something more advanced. I seriously felt like it was a waste of time after taking this "intro" class with her because I don't think the studio class policy set up is encouraging for super newbies. (I did notice that afterward, Evolve has a new policy not allowing adv beg/intermed students take intro classes) ...after those two classes, I was ready to hang up my pole dancing aspirations, but being Chinese & having paid for the package already, I dragged my butt out again to Culver City to take two more today. - Bollywood Dance: This class was really really fun! The moves are a little complicated & the instructor goes a little bit fast at times, but it gets your whole body moving for a good workout. - Intro Pole Dance with Emily: I love Emily!!! She was so sweet, patient and encouraging. Learned mostly introductory moves such as pivoting around the pole, back bends, "sexy push ups" & "sexy stand". I felt that this was a GREAT introductory class which focused on the basics & gave enough individualized attention to newbie students. About the studio/other technical funstuff: I really liked their easy online registration process, the studio is really clean, and there is plenty of street parking. The studio is easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled for it. Weekend classes get filled up quick, so be sure to register at least 2-3 wks in advance to get the class you want. Overall: After my 1st experience, I would've rated this 2.5-3 stars, call it a day. But I really did enjoy my time the second time around. Probably won't be back mostly because of distance so I'll have to look for a studio closer to me to continue my pole dancing education. read more

Evolve has been an amazing experience so far. I discovered Evolve after purchasing a groupon for $39 for 5 classes. Walking in to my first class I was so nervous. Not knowing anything about Pole Dancing, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Lord, I can't be more glad that i finally got the courage to go use my groupon. Everyone is so welcoming and honestly, beginners feel so at ease. What I love about evolve is the fact that the instructors work with you individually. Even though there are several students per class (up to 8) the instructor work at your pace and ensures that you get the instructions that is right for you. So far i've had the pleasure of taking a class with Lori and Emily. Both of those ladies are AMAZING and so sweet. My classes are almost over and I'm so sad since classes are a bit expensive, and for a starving grad student, a bit tough financially. However, i think i will try to get at least some classes since i love how great of a workout this is. They have an awesome 5 for $55 deal for new students, so get on that people. Thanks evolve! Just wanted to say I'm very surprised by the negative reviews about the late cancel policy, as the cancellation policy is standard for most of the pole/aerials classes I've taken around LA, especially if the studio is using Mindbody. It weirded me out at first, but it kept me on track and coming back to make my commitments as best as I could. And it's not like you're going to find a lot of LA pole/aerials studio with a different cancellation policy? I really enjoyed the floorwork classes I've taken here! I took the world's worst Spin Pole class here. There wasn't a single bit of the choreography that actually required the pole to spin. The instructor did not demo the choreography in full with music before she began to teach parts of the movement (out of order) and did not properly communicate technique for execution well (grips, inside legs, outside legs, clockwise, counter clockwise, etc.) The studio had two heights of poles, one of which was too short to be worth using and the layout of the studio is not conducive to large classes. There was too much of an emphasis on non-pole required choreography and not enough actual pole trick technique. Most of the class was done in silence (which I found odd and unpleasant). There were mirrors in the studio, but we were never instructed on what to look for in our bodies so they might as well not have existed. There was no indication of prerequisite moves for a "Level 2" class so as a dancer coming from another studio, it was hard to gauge the appropriate class or style for me. The floors are laminate and scuff easily. Would not recommend as a pole studio or dance space. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk to greet us and when I called in advance and left a message, no one returned my calls, which would have been fine if classes had time to leave before the next class began. Class started without warning and it felt like the longest 60 minutes of my life (and the pole classes I regularly take last 2-hours). read more

Now if I am being honest two years ago I called to get some information and had the worst experience and you all may or may not know I am really big on customer service so I went to the studio down the street. Fast forward, the studio down the street closed so I thought I would give evolve one more chance and I am glad I did. I love my classes and I adore my instructor Taisha. I take senual splits and flexibility and slow and sexy choreography. I love the fact that she actually instructors. What I mean by that is she doesn't just show you a move and let you figure it out. She breaks a move down and she corrects you. In her classes you feel welcomed. It is a judgement free zone and encouraging. It is a great place to get your sexy back I highly recommend her classes. read more

I absolutely love this studio. Teachers here are very diverse in terms of specialties, teaching style and choreography. Although I am a beginner (commitment issues) I have taken classes with a few of the instructors over time. The awesome thing about this place is there is a perfect class for you! Most recently I took Brynn's Pole Diva class and it was FANTASTIC. She spent a lot of time giving us individual attention and pointers and going over the routine with us. I felt sexy and confident by the end of class, best of all, in addition to being a blast, its an EXCELLENT workout. I definitely recommend this studio its the best in town for sure. read more

This studio is hit or miss. I really tried to give them a chance - many months, actually. They have some new pole instructors who may be great, but I am unwilling to stay at this studio to try their classes because I have had way too many negative experiences in the past year. They really need to work on the pole curriculum and making this place more welcoming/encouraging. Remi and Lori are very nice and welcoming but don't teach beginner classes. I think the best instructors for students who are new to DANCE (they don't teach pole) are Aliyah and Taisha. Take one of their classes if you want to feel welcome and have fun - especially if you are not already comfortable with sensual/sexy dancing. They are good at creating a positive, empowering atmosphere and I wish I could give them 5 stars separately from this review. read more

I've been to five different pole studios in la And this one provides the best customer service BY FAR. On multiple occasions I've called to ask different questions and someone always answers after the first ring. It's almost unheard of businesses today. The staff is friendly approachable and understanding. I had an issue signing up through class pass and it was resolved immediately. They also sell bottled waters for $1.00 which I haven't seen in ages. I've been doing pole for three years and it's the friendliest and most professional of studios. read more

They made me feel super welcome at my first class and answered all my questions. GREAT WORKOUT! For someone who doesn't like working out. And fun! As long as you have a good attitude as a beginner you can go at your own pace. Other classmates were supportive too. One hiccup: I was on the waitlist for another class the same week, but never got an email saying I was accepted in - but did get an email the next morning saying I had forfeited a credit by not showing up. Took the "Beginner/Pole Virgin" class. It was cool that the instructor Candice gave you moves to work up to, but I wouldn't say they were necessarily approachable as a beginner (this was my second beginner class and I'm still working on flexibility). Personally, would have enjoyed a few more moves to be able to help me work up to the more intense pole work. They recommend mats, but you use them for one minute and put them away so I don't recommend renting them from the studio. read more

i came back for my last three sessions that was part of my groupon deal. and i must say i had a blast! 1. the sexy cardio - major work out 2. beginner / intermediate pole dancing - it was fun! our instructor, Mina, she is H.O.T., hot. The moves she can do, wow - it was amazing. Mina taught us a few pole moves and we got to practice on our own and she made sure you do it right. One thing i had to complain about is the stretching was too long. i wish the pole dancing part was longer. 3. pole tricks - this class is for all (beginner, intermediate, advance) this class was taught by a male instructor, Josiah "Bad Azz"; he was cool. He taught us a few tricks and yeah, it was quite hard to do. Again, we spent a lot of time stretching in the beginning and not so much on the pole tricks. Then he didnt spend that much time on us. He split our class into two groups (advance vs. beg/int.) and he was walking back and forth between the two groups.. but in the end i felt like the class was more of a free style pole class than an actual learning pole tricks class. Overall i enjoyed my sessions. I wish the studio isn't so far. If it was located in SGV, i'd totally sign up for membership. read more
