    I lost 20 lbs with Evolution Fitness Coaching and have kept it off for 2 years. I look and feel great! I was a "skinny fat" person. I did a lot of cardio (I was able to complete the Triple Crown- 3 half marathons), but I still felt fat in my clothes (not to mention out of my clothes). I held most of my weight in my belly so I wore a lot of loose tops and it would take me hours to get dressed because nothing fit right. After starting with Evolution, I learned one nutrition habit at a time and 2 years later it's proven to be successful for me. I never once felt I was on a diet or told I can't eat this or that. In my case, my first couple of habits were to actually add things, like protein and greens. We never took anything away. I learned how to portion with easy tips. And I still enjoy occasional indulgence without feeling guilty! Now the exercising! The workouts are fun! Boot camps are fun and the exercises are programmed for different levels. So beginners and experienced people can get a great workout altogether. And It's great to see my own progress in strength!!! I used to be the girl at the gym on the treadmill. Now with the confidence I've gained working with Evolution, if I'm ever working out on my own i feel empowered to be in the free weights area. Overall, they really focus on your goals, they do well working around injuries, and teach you ways to be successful in the long run, for life. Give them a try, what do you have to lose??? Besides the weight!) :)

I originally called Kate to help me lose weight for my wedding in September but I plan to keep this going for as long as possible! I love how much stronger and stronger I feel every week. KATE is very knowledgeable about all aspects of working out, she guides you through every step and makes sure you are doing the movements correctly so you don't hurt yourself. She provides a full guide specifically tailored to your fitness needs (in my case weight loss), the program helps with what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat, and there are also specific workouts for your level of fitness you do on your own. Out first meeting was more like a consultation where she gets a feel for what level of fitness you are at, and I was level beginner :) And from there she builds that plan for you. I work out with Kate 2 days a week tue & thurs and then 1 day by myself usually Saturday morning plus cardio every other few days. I had a gym membership in the past but I only ever did cardio at the gym so I am a beginner when it comes to working out/weightlifting. Let me give you an idea of how far I have come. When I first started with Kate, I could barely do 1 push-up on my knees and now I can do 5 solid regular push-ups. And that's huge for me. I was so out of breath after 1 burpee and it was so awkward for me, but now I can do 10 still winded but nothing like before! We have done all this from the comfort of my own home in my garage, with 2 yoga Matts and a couple of dumbbells. Call Kate, it's the best decision you can make for yourself! My fiancé is so happy with my results, everyone in my life has been complimenting me saying that I look the best I have ever looked. I have totally gained more muscle and it shows, I am thinner but more importantly more Toned and I could not have done any of this without Kate. If I can do it anyone can do it. HIRE KATE! She will not disappoint. She is an amazing personal trainer!

I appreciate their music choices, detailed instruction, and the way they balance encouragement with just the right amount of challenge to push us past our comfort zones. The coaching team is always clear with cues, form corrections, and modifications, which makes it easy to show up, work hard, and trust the process. I especially want to recognize Coach Michelle for her fun class vibe, positive interaction with the members, and engaging coaching style. She plays some of the best workout music, with energetic tracks that give you rhythm on the tread or rower, like Lauryn Hill's "Lost Ones," and it is awesome when she sings along and keeps the whole room smiling while we are grinding through the tough blocks. Once I signed all the forms and created my profile, the instructor for the 10 a.m. class came out and gave me a tour of what to expect, how to move between the different workouts throughout the class, where to look for instructions and what to listen out for. She was very thorough and calmed my nerves down (I don't want to be falling behind by myself in the class!) The class that I attended was divided into 3 stations: treadmill, rowing machine and floor (with dumbbells). Each machine/space in a station is numbered, so once you're assigned a number, that's the spot in each station that you're supposed to go. There's no need to "fight" over a spot with someone else. It's really organized. The instructor, Michelle, was entertaining. She's very motivating and I found myself entertained by her laughter, which took away a little of the suffering throughout the workout. If you're a data geek, you're gonna love this. They display your heart rate throughout the class (you're given a heart rate tracker to wear during the class) and you can easily see the zones in which you're operating. I'm looking forward to having my butts kicked in the next class.

There are days that focus on lower body, upper body, or full body, with some cardio as well depending on if it is a "circuit" vs a "strong" class. I had received the news that I might need knee surgery due to a tear on my ACL and Meniscus. That evening I spoke to my dear friend Ben and he asked me the following " do you want to wait and see what the doctors say? Or do you want to give your knee a fighting chance at recovery through proper physical training? The thought of getting in better shape, not going under the knife and giving my body a chance to heal was too tempting to pass. I said "YES". I then asked " what do I need to do?" and he just said "just trust me Sal". We immediately set up our workout schedule and he asked me to send him photos of everything I was eating throughout my day. Twice a week I did 60 minute personal training sessions and sent him daily photos of my meals until I refined my eating habits. I can honestly say I am not dieting. I eat what I want, when I want. I just crave healthy stuff and that is what I had been chasing for a long time; sustainable healthy eating habits. With this said I want to thank you Ben! First of all, your work ethic is contagious and the foundation to your success. Your gym is clean, not crowded, it has great energy and the team you have created is 2nd to none. Your whole team has eagerness to help and develop the talent that goes in seeking help/guidance on improving both mentally and physically. I can now say that after 3 months of hardwork in and outside the gym, that I am stronger body and mind, healthier, and the fittest I've ever been. Oh and did I mention, NO SURGERY NEEDED!! Started 2022 at 173lbs, got to San Diego Strength and Wellness at 163lbs and after 3 months got down to 148lbs. Slowly losing fat and gaining muscle. Being healthy is not easy and/or quick; it takes time, dedication, persistence, and above all, resilience to adhere to your objective. I joined because I wanted to prepare for my College Volleyball Season by increasing my athleticism and strength. My trainer Julia really pushed me. Being a former collegiate athlete herself, she knew what it takes to be successful at the next level. Despite only meeting with her twice a week, I have gotten a lot stronger and gained 8lbs of muscle going from 143lbs to 151lbs. She taught me lots of different exercises that help me strengthen my entire body, especially my hips, legs, core, and at the same time increasing my overall flexibility and mobility all of which have translated on the volleyball court. I don't think I ever been pushed more physically and mentally any where else. Look no further this is the best gym in SD. Highly recommend.

And this all came with the added package of his quick humor, customization of the music playlist (never has a trainer let me customize the music I work out to--he tolerated new wave 80s and indie synth pop, and never complained about it!). Weekly check ins are a must and really helped both of us understand how to adjust numbers if needed. I do have to say it took a few weeks to learn how to fit my favorite foods into my macros. I have had a goal to compete in NPC bikini for a few years but put it off while I was finishing school. Then, in 2017 I was in a car accident that left me with ligament damage in neck. I spent a few months rehabbing my neck and then decided it was time to get serious about competing, so I started looking for a coach. When I first met with Jon for a consultation, he went over my training history, my goals, and his background/expertise and how he could help me reach my goals. I decided a few days later to hire Jon and he created a custom plan that would help me get my strength back and build muscle so that I could reach my goal of competing. Every week we check-in and he adjusts my plan for me based on performance and results, and also checks in to see how I feel and if I need help with anything. He's always been available to answer any questions when I text or email him, and he answers my questions in depth. 9 months later I am still working with Jon and Elite Conditioning, and I am 4 weeks out from my first NPC competition. I couldn't have done it with his guidance and expertise and I know that I will be working with Elite Conditioning for a long time to come. #TEAMEC

Wish the establishment can give more trial days. My friend and I reserved a higher intensity class that was only for 15 mins ( thunder) . My other 2 friends reserved a hr (50 mins) long class ( floor Pilates ). CONs: - The room can accommodate 3 ppl per session. Looking at my friends that reserved the floor Pilates, 2 ppl will be a comfortable, 3 I think is just crowded . Same as in the room where I was at, 3 equipments. A little too tight. - cleaning equipments between sessions. Not so sure about that. Not enough time to wipe off anything. - the monitors are too high if you're doing any floor exercises. Hyperextending the neck to look up to see the video playing. - we can barely hear the recorded video. - had a little bit of an issue reserving the class from the app. - the locker, have to purchase the key from the vending machine. Can't use a regular lock. - can't use own yoga mat, we were told that we have to use their mat, that also have be rented out. - my friend and I were also not given an opportunity to attend another class ( since class we attended was only for 15 mins). There were unoccupied rooms while we were there. ( we asked, we were turned down ). - would be nice to have few trial free days or even a small fee for few days and get access to really get that full experience. - same recorded classes to follow ( may or may not be an issue to some ). - parking is going to be a challenge. - there are days where there's no staff onsite, just can't figure out the cleaning of the floor and equipments in between classes. PROs: - benefit of the infra red heat - 24/7 access - for safety - multiple cameras and alert necklaces avail for the ones that goes there during odd hours and finding themselves alone. - there are a lot of different classes that can be booked and on rotation booking in advance.
