I cannot recommend doing business with this company. You pay a premium for professionalism and…read moreexpediency with these contractors. I got neither. Spend your hard earned money on a better staff that communicates and schedules at a professional level. TLDR: Because of scheduling negligence and poor communication, my project for a deck and patio cover was 3 times delayed and downgraded to just a deck because of administrative issues. Ultimately it was completed almost 3 months after the initial estimate. Our 12x20 deck ended up being $28,000. I put the initial deposit down in mid April for a deck (12x20) and screened in patio cover attaching to my house. It was an expensive project (~$41,000) that we were excited to have done. They estimated completion of the entire project by mid June. After the deposit we heard nothing from them until late May for a quick measurement on our property to verify the drawings. We expected the construction timeline to be very similar to the initial estimate. We heard nothing for weeks. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I reached out at the end of the month for an update. My PM stated they were a few weeks behind-- frustrating that the information wasn't shared, but understandable given the rainy spring. Fast forward a few weeks and yet again I was given the run around. I had many unanswered texts and phone calls. It was the end of July when I finally heard back from them. Turns out the project manager assigned to me dropped the ball. The permits for the initial deck and patio cover were approved, but allowed to expire. On resubmission it was found to be a violation of city ordinance so the patio cover had to be removed from the project. The 3rd round of permitting finally got approved. At this point I was very frustrated with the 1.5 month delay and ready to cancel. They whipped up a new contract quickly and I returned it quickly. Somehow things were still delayed. Finally they began on August 27th. The crew was FANTASTIC. They worked incredibly hard and had it up in 3 work days. I cannot praise them enough, their product was great. They are the only reason this experience was 2 stars instead of 1. At the end of the project I aired my grievances and was told they could not offer any discount despite the issues. I didn't even get an apology until I asked for some sort of reparation. Ultimately there are too many other decking companies that would be easier to work with that I would not recommend working with this one.

Ground Breaking Home Remodeling LLC is fantastic. The owner is proactive, communicates readily…read morewith his customers, and is excellent at what he does. I needed deck repairs and after several disappointing discussions with well known big name contractors/companies who decided I would be best if they tore it down and built a new more modern deck at a price I couldn't afford. But then I heard about Ground Breaking Homee Remodeling LLC, who responded to my call immediately and came within a couple of days to see what I wanted done. Without discussing other companies or costs, he first started telling me what he would recommend, which would be cost effective but at the same time, repair, modernize and improve the look. I liked what he recommended but he in no way pushes his ideas on the customer unless he feels it is best for safety, longevity, etc. He listens to his customers and he truly wants to please them with the job he and his staff provide. I was so pleased that I asked him about other home repairs and projects which he provided estimates for and I moved forward with those as well. I intend to hired Mr. Jerome McCoy and his staff to do more projects on my home for the following reasons......to name just a few: He is honest; If he says what he can do, he means it - he can really do them (not like contractors who say they can but then have to look it up on the phone to find out how to do the job), he is very particular with the outcome of the project, he is very knowledgeable, will provide estimates (again which some say they will do but don't) he arrives when he says he will, and he is very professional and very pleasant to deal with. I rank this businessman and his company with all the stars available. Give him a chance at what your home needs; I think you might become a regular customer as well. Quality work at reasonable prices!!!
