I chose Select Fencing based on their positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience has not matched that. Early in the process, they removed a gate I had specifically asked to keep. I let it go at the time, but in hindsight it reflects a lack of attention to detail on the initial installation. I wish I had paid closer attention at the time of install. While the fence looked great at first, multiple issues have come up within six months. There are nails protruding through several areas, some boards were never properly attached, and both gates have repeatedly failed to function correctly--we often have to force them open just to get in and out of the yard. A wooden topper has also come loose and is now flapping in the wind. To their credit, they did respond to my initial concerns, but new problems continue to surface. Taken together, this raises concerns about the overall quality and durability of the work. I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the installation before considering the job complete. read more

Casey and the Select Fencing crew are all fantastic! My wife and I could not recommend them enough after installing a 4 1/2 foot black aluminum fence around our backyard. We have received compliments from several neighbors walking by. Where to begin... First off, we compared several St. Louis companies, and Casey had the best pricing. He came over to give us a quote, and I immediately appreciated his honesty, attention to detail, and not being pushy. I did not feel like I was being sold on something. After installation began, Casey had an accident (off site) that put him in the hospital and into emergency surgery. Because of this (understandably!) there were delays on finishing the fence. Casey was so apologetic and sent us regular updates. None of this was necessary given the circumstances, but we appreciated his conscientiousness and good communication. The wait was worth it! The end product looked fantastic! The only problem: one of the gates was slightly crooked (because of the emergency, Casey was not personally able to install that gate). Instead of trying to convince us that it was normal or the best they could do or just giving us a discounted price, Casey removed the concrete and poles out of the ground and re-installed it to make sure it was perfectly level. In summary, Casey went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything. And we CERTAINLY are! Casey's character, communication, and attention to detail are all tops!
