BUT we know that what did not work now does work! Thank you, Booms Welding!!! - - - We ordered a pellet smoker and the first one that was delivered was clearly damaged, seemingly before it was put in the box at the factory; the manufacturer sent us a replacement, and since the first one was too big to send back, they let us keep it. The smoker is upright, similar to a dorm or hotel refrigerator (but bigger), and the damage made it out-of-square... it was tilted just a bit, and that bit was just enough to prevent the shelves from being supported on all four corners... if we were to use it and to put meat on it to cook, a sizable amount would have made the shelf tilt and fall. We had met Joel before, searching for help on another home project; Joel was very friendly and helpful; while the part we needed repaired couldn't be repaired (we ultimately found an unexpected replacement...), Joel was straightforward... he clearly understood our ask and shared why he wanted to help but just couldn't. That impressed us. So when we needed the smoker repaired, we called Joel. He came to visit and to determine what to do; Joel suspected that welding a couple metal pieces inside the smoker would provide the support that the shelves needed. We just needed to get the smoker to their shop and their welding equipment. We took the smoker to Booms and dropped it off. Within an hour they had it repaired... they were able to straighten the frame and to then make two welds to hold it in the straightened position. The repair was done so well and so professionally that, when they showed us the two welds, which they painted, in the bright outside sunshine, we could barely the repairs... the smoker, with the welds, looked like brand new. Due to some dates being pushed up, I needed those bars to be cut down sooner rather than later. I emailed info@booms and had a response within the hour. They asked me if I wanted to bring the bars in or have them pick-up; I chose to deliver them directly to Booms and the gentlemen I spoke with said he should have them done by the end of the day. He notified me later that afternoon that they were done. I just picked the bars up and they look amazing. Exactly what I needed, just as specified. I am very pleased with the work performed by Booms. I let it go at the time, but in hindsight it reflects a lack of attention to detail on the initial installation. I wish I had paid closer attention at the time of install. While the fence looked great at first, multiple issues have come up within six months. There are nails protruding through several areas, some boards were never properly attached, and both gates have repeatedly failed to function correctly--we often have to force them open just to get in and out of the yard. A wooden topper has also come loose and is now flapping in the wind. To their credit, they did respond to my initial concerns, but new problems continue to surface. Taken together, this raises concerns about the overall quality and durability of the work. I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the installation before considering the job complete.

After looking through the windows of my house for about 3 weeks I decided I wanted new windows. I called several companies. The last one (there were 4) to show up was Maris. The salesman walked the perimeter of my house like all the rest. The salesman spoke outside like all the rest. The salesman arrived on time like all the rest. What made him different is that instead of selling me some windows he sold me a gutter. He mentioned that my right gutter looked bad...asked if I got water in my basement at all and then told me that it might be wiser to get new gutters than windows. I was sad and didn't have the money to get a ton of windows and knew that I probably didn't have the money for 2 gutters. Not a problem. They worked with me. Sadly, the salesperson whose name escapes me was super nice and understanding. When the installers came to do the work they were very fast and tidy. They were super polite. Maris EVEN sent people to fix a spot that leaked on part of the other gutter. NICE company. Why the 4 out of 5 then? Well, I wasn't called as to when the installers were coming. It would have been nice to know that rather than them just show up. Would I recommend and use Maris again? ABSOLUTELY!!!
