I get my finger nails done by a private tech and I've never experienced what I have now been experiencing after getting an acrylic pedicure here. My tech who uses LEGAL monomer strongly feels MMA was used due to the damage my natural toe nails are now facing. Well, the 5 nails I have left after the other 5 fell off due to my nail beds being so abused. They also put tips on ALL my toes which is now something I know is a HUGE NO NO. They were able to get in and luckily got to set by each other during their pedicures but, they were separated during the manicures. Overpriced, rude & low quality. I booked online with a specific nail tech and ended up with a completely different nail tech. This was after waiting 10 mins to even be greeted. Once I was greeted, I was told I was looking at dip nail polish colors, not gel and was given the correct colors to choose from. I had a photo of a design I wanted and the nail tech said it was possible. See picture below for how terrible the design was. I told him I wanted specific colors for the design and that I didn't like the pink but he continued to use the colors he picked for the design. I can't believe they would even send someone out the door with such awful looking "flowers", not to mention charge someone for the design. The polish was also completely messy and all over my mail bed (see photo). Don't waste your money. read more

Finally caved in and decided to write a bad review of a place I frequent often with my friend and received terrible services. I finally decided to do a dip manicure at this place because they do really good job on pedicures. However, we had a nightmare experience for our manicures. I grew out my nails to be about an inch long, I asked for a small trim to make my nails even. After approving the length, she decided to cut them super short and I had no length left, it took me almost 2 months to grow them this long. Towards the end of my dip manicure, she became very aggressive to where every cuticle was bleeding. My friend's acrylic manicure was so terrible, it looked like she was wearing high end press on nails. To add on this awful manicure, the product was not even and very lumpy. The woman who did my manicure also did my pedicure, again, she was very aggressive. The salon was very packed and we had no chance to speak up about these issues. read more

i would rate them a zero if it was possible. i have been there before and it was great - not this time! (Sorry for the length of the review - i'm REALLY not happy with what they did!!!) 1) i called to see if they would put a clear coat of gel on top of regular polish. After checking with someone, i was told they would, but it'd be charged as gel - no problem. i get there - they don't even have clear gel, and at that point it's too late to go anywhere else. 2) i told the woman my nails didn't need to be shaped at all - i wanted them as they were. She starts filing the sides at an angle. i said again i didn't want the shape changed - she asked "not even a little?" and i emphatically said absolutely not. She said ok and started the sides again. i pulled my hand away and asked if i could have someone else or could she stop the filing. She moved on to the woman who came in with me. At this point i had to file my nails back to the square shape i had said i wanted to keep, drastically reducing the length of them. 2.5 Oh, yeah - she didn't like that i wanted the length of my nails on each hand different from the other (the same on each hand, but my my dominant hand shorter than the other). She started to move the clipper towards my longer nails and i had to stop her then. 3) So she does the polish. Big spaces between my skin and the side of the nails, which i know from experience when my nails catch on something, bend, etc. - this will cause them to rip from the unpolished part. So - home for an hour and the polish is coming off. Total waste of money. 3.5 Reason #2 to remove the polish: my nails had to be filed down so far on the one hand to get them square again that you could now see my finger at the top of the nail, which DID look ridiculous then compared to the other side. And (I'm sure related to my insistence about what i wanted), they asked me to pay b4 they started on the polish, which i thought fine - we were the last appointments of the day (btw - there wouldn't have been enough time to finish IF we had wanted gel), but then i noticed that they didn't ask the 5 women behind us (3 different parties) to pay. Turned out to be a very expensive hour, so save your money - go somewhere else! read more

If you're looking for that up to date modern review here it is. They accepted me as a walk in, the place was busy and clean, calm lighting with nice ppl. The receptionist/ assistant was well versed in both languages which isn't necessary but helped with check in and I witnessed when customers had specific requests he'd go and help translate without them having to ask (very attentive!) While I was in the process I overheard ppl chatting with their nail techs like they were best friends, some were likely regulars who I heard knew the techs by name. So friendly. I got to see the folks sitting next to me leave with incredible nails as well. Now for me, my nail tech was very sweet (didn't catch her name unfortunately) she really really took her time on each nail during each step perfecting it, which is a good thing, I'd rather it take longer and look perfect than be rushed like at a lot of other salons. She asked permission to cut my real nails, She looked at my reference picture multiple times to make sure she was still on track and she accidentally drilled the side of my finger once and immediately apologized even though I didn't feel it lol. They have cool built in dryers at the desk you sit at and when my thumb didn't dry all the way and the paint smeared she quickly happily redid the nail. I'll definitely be going back, maybe for a pedi too. My only warning or FYI is from what I saw they only have curved tips so I definitely would've gotten mine longer if they had straight. I am home visiting family and needed to get nails done for a wedding. Did research in the area and found this spot. Sad to say I am leaving extremely disappointed. I called twice this morning to confirm our 445pm appt. We arrive at 430 only to find out that the receptionist wrote it down wrong for 545pm. We were understanding. Miscommunication and accidents happen. We waited 45 minutes to get in. Finally when it was our turn and the technicians rushed through our services. I haven't had my nails done in months (COVID) and they rushed through barely cleaning up the skin on the sides of my nails. Poor filing. Then I went in for my manicure with Daniel (or Daniel) and he rushed my entire manicure. Worst filing job ever. He argued with me when there was extra skin he didn't clean up. He said "well if you keep picking at it" and my response was "well if it was cleaned properly- there would be nothing to pick at!" I felt so uncomfortable having to ask for the attention to detail that I am paying for in the service. I let him finish and then had to tell Lou the manager before I left to still clean up the poor file job and extra skin that needed to be cleaned up. I said to Lou "you know we waited for 45 minutes"....he interrupted me to defensively say that it was a miscommunication. Understood. However it was a miscommunication and mistake from your employee. Not me. And regardless of the mistake, when customers wait as patiently and kindly as we did - you would think they would put more effort into making our experience a good one. It was not. It was rushed. It was uncomfortable. Won't be back here. My mom who lives in town or myself next time I'm here. As a small business owner myself, I am disappointed. I use to LOVE this place which is why I booked an appointment to get my nails done here for my wedding. The pedicure I had was great. But from there everything went bad. I wanted to get the powder manicure to make sure it stayed for the wedding. The actual color isn't awful but the shaping is not great. Nails are uneven and different shapes. After I was done I went to my car after I paid. I noticed there was paint still on my finger (not on my nail) and it was stuck to underneath my nail to my skin. I went back in and they filed the paint that is on my finger (the side). And then I asked "should it be stuck to my skin like that?". To which he said "well since your nails are so short (they are not even that short) that will happen" as he quickly filed the ends which ended up doing nothing in reality. I left fairly upset but figured I can file them when I got home. I then realized later in the day that they didn't even cut my cuticles or did any type of manicure treatment. So I called to which I was basically told "that isn't included". So I paid $57 for the color to be stuck to my skin, nails uneven, and not even get my cuticles cleaned up? FOR MY WEDDING DAY?? This should have been communicated early on. I am honesty disappointed in the response I was given along with the service. I am debating on getting my nails redone somewhere else now. I am so upset considering I told them when I booked and when I was there that this was for my wedding and this is the care I got - not to mention I don't even live in St Cloud anymore so I traveled from Minneapolis because I didn't want to try a new place before the big day. Finally! A great nail spot in the St. Cloud area! It's sparkly, brand new, and very clean. The decor is chic and spa-like and a wall divides the manicure and pedicure areas which is nice. Spa music plays instead of the typical TV playing trashy daytime shows, but there are televisions mounted in case you're into that. They use disposable implements whenever possible and have these basin liners for the pedi tubs which operate with a removable, magnetic jet for sanitary purposes. The staff are all courteous and very well put together and the owner came over for a little chat and to thank me for coming. Tai performed my pedicure and he did an excellent job with a great massage. I just went with the basic pedi today, but I will be back for some of their enhanced versions when I have more time. read more

All of the great things mentioned in all the other reviews are true. This place is excellent. My first visit was very busy but Evol has a lot of staff to keep up with the customer flow. I had Tina and highly recommend her. The manicure was very good, quick, with great results. The pedicure I got was the $55 'most popular' option per the menu, and worth every penny. Massage chair, feet and leg scrub, massage, lotions, and nail maintenance. All of the items/ lotions are high quality. Extremely good customer service. Very clean and calming environment. Came here based on the reviews. My pink and white fill in was great, it looks good, was pretty quick. My pedicure however was not good, especially for $50. My feet are still rough, she barely used the pumice to scrub and get the dead skin off. I told her I was having pain on my toes and she said she would try to work on it, she didn't. Highly disappointed in my pedicure, especially after the rave reviews I read. I had to come back to my hotel, soak my feet and use a pumice stone to get rid of the rough spots that kept catching on my sheets. The salon was nice, clean, and very busy. Evol Nails & Spa is lovely. My mother came into town from Chicago to visit me, and I wanted to take her somewhere for a nice pedicure while she was here. However, being new to the area, I didn't know where to go, so I turned to Yelp and selected Evol. They did not disappoint! When we came in, they had just celebrated 7 weeks of being open. The spa is clean, well lit, and has a soothing and upscale design. The services are priced extremely well - we are used to Mario Tricoci spas, which offer a very basic pedicure for $50-60 depending on location. At Evol, Mom and I got specialty chamomile pedicures featuring special scrubs, lotions, and a hot stone massage for $60. Service is attentive and friendly; the manager and attendants are all family, and it really feels like a welcoming place. So to start of, this put a damper on my day to say the least. I made an appointment for a pedicure and a new full set. The pedicure was fine, but could have done a better job scrubbing my feet. I felt like after I told the lady that I only wanted a regular pedicure she didn't want to do the best work anymore... Moving on to my nails I had gotten them done at a different salon and they weren't my style so I wanted to redo them and to redo them they needed to soak off my nails but didn't. (This really irritates me) Every time I go to Evol and have a pair of nails and want them off, they use an acrylic nail tip to pick at my nail and lift it up which is uncomfortable and not the greatest service. The lady filed them down and picked and then decided to wrap them only to lead to her pulling each one off after they were on for 2 minutes at the max. My nails were thin and did not look good after the stuff was off and so she didn't buff them out or anything just put the new ones on. Before we started to put the acrylic on, I asked if we needed to use any different products for the style I wanted and she clearly said no. She then did an alright job putting it on. After the nails were ready to be painted I showed her my picture and she was good with what I wanted. She does a full color to 2 nails on each hand then does a triangle style on 1 and it was crooked and she thought it was good so we should keep going, but I had to awkwardly say that I didn't like that and she needed to try again so she did and did better on the other hand as well. Next, the picture called for ombré nails and so this is where I say should we use the dipping powder and she says no and tries it with the regular gel polish. It looked horrible. She used a paint brush type thing that looked like a fork and tried to smooth it out to look ombré. It did not . I then tell her that I do not like the way my nails look and we need to try again or do something. She just sits there and was like whatever. The manager came over and talked to me and said that the ombré needs to be dipped and so she has to do that before the acrylic WHICH WAS WHAT I ASKED AND SHE SAID NO. I was extremely upset here and she just kept saying that we do a full color on all and be done which I didn't want. To end it we just do a full color and diamonds. I usually am happy with the outcome of the appointment at Evol but today was a bad day. It took her 3 hours to do my nails when it should have been done in like 1 and a half too. And to top it ALL OFF... I was getting these done for my high school graduation in 2 days..... I really hope that Evol employees see this and realize that they need to step up their service and be accommodating to what people want from them.
