EVO Kitchen is a great spot located in Galt. They host lots of events, including some super fun trivia nights! The dining room itself is beautiful and perfect for hosting events or celebrating. Service is great and attentive! My favourite order to get from EVO is definitely their pasta salad. It's incredible! However, some of their food items are hit or miss, like their fresh spring rolls. I wanted to like this place more given the great location, sizable venue, and gorgeous outdoor spaces. But sadly, the the food is just average and the service is too effing slow. Was excited to have the crispy pork belly. It has potential, but it's just too overly saturated in the spicy tamarind sauce. The true essence of the pork belly is completely masked by this thick sweet sauce. We also had the Italian ciabatta and the ham and cheddar sandwiches. They were good, but not remarkable in any way. And to wait almost an hour for some sandwiches at lunch for a restaurant with 10 people inside is just ludicrous. Staff was friendly and ambiance is excellent, but they need to elevate their offerings to match the property and work on throughput of service. I like the food and the vibe at this place. Haven't had a bad experience yet. Food is eclectic, nice selection in craft beer, beautiful industrial interior. The waiters/waitress I find are professional and chill and personable. It's in fact one of the few places I enjoy in Cambridge I find it caters towards university students and young urban professionals. Within 2 hours the server only saw us twice. No one checked In to see how the food was. Had to wait 40 minutes between each order I placed(drinks,food,desert) the drinks were Really not that great, their take on crafty drinks were chunky and made with egg yoke. And hard to swallow. The food was alright. The pork ribs were mostly just pork fat. And the flatbread was over cooked, so we're the fries. Only good thing was the atmosphere and the wine. read more

I hate to write this because I never review restaurants (especially negatively) but I had the most appalling experience here due to their FOH manager being extremely rude... I'll expand. I'm a culinary student myself and we've had to make flatbread from scratch, consequently I know what a burnt flatbread looks and tastes like. 1/3 of our flatbread was blackened not in a good way, so I asked the server if we could refire it. She took it with no issues & even asked if id like something else because I think she had a feeling they don't like refires. Not being aware of this I just asked for the same thing just a little under. She replaced the order with no problem. Then the FOH manager comes over to tell me that this is how flatbread is supposed to look and "everyone orders it and likes it this way, by the way, but we can have it recooked underdone just for you." Super condescending, but i still said thank you. Pretty appalled at this point, I'm just ready to leave. Nonethless, we wait for the refire. Sure enough, it comes out again "the way its supposed to be", or inedible. At this point she comes over again and doubles down on it saying "see I told you that's how it comes, would you like us to refire it again or give you something else?" At that point we left. And no I didn't pay $17 for a blackened inedible wafer. So when Evo opened, we went a few times. Food was fantastic, service was amazing and the ambiance perfect. I took two friends to enjoy this place as much as I did previously and it was a total flop. Their signature dish the pot roast was horrible. No gravy, the asparagus was hard as rock, and the potatoes were lumpy. Not to mention the service was so slow and when I told the waitress about the food, she just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. Then we didn't see her again until we asked for the bill. Honestly, I went from recommending this place to now letting all my friends know that it was not the place I first experienced it to be. I love their back patio in the summer. no truck noise from the street gets back there. a variety of seating options. I was there 2 days ago. Ordered their pasta salad. very disappointed. dinner size portion. tons of pasta with a mayonnaise thick dressing. could hardly find and vegetables.Boring taste. Very disappointing for a nice restaurant. their kale salad is also a bust. they use curly kale. it takes hours of chewing to get it down your throat. will not order these two dishes again. read more

We were hesitant to go to this restaurant because of the reviews. HOWEVER, we liked it very much. Sat at the patio, the waitress was great and kind and the service was good. The menu has a lot of great options including vegetarian. The portobellosandwish was delicious. So was the stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes my husband had. Prices are more than fair for this kind of nice restaurant. Although we didn't sit inside, I'd love to come in a colder day. We are just passing by this time around. Thumbs up!! read more

I am not sure where to start... this place is very nice in downtown Galt. You get greeted with water and a glass filled up with ice , ok I am impressed. The menu is very nice lots of options other then the cookie cutter burger , nachos, club sandwich stuff ... you know what I mean...we'll then it started to go down, I get that you want me to buy local over hoppy IPA beer that I don't like but anyway I settled for a glass of wine. Not in a rush but the service was slow we were ready to ordered stared at and ignored. Make sure that you check the price of what you orde i was charged for half of an Italian sandwich for $17 and she asked me what I wanted for side and automatically said fries and I said yes. Well a 5 inch's long Italian sandwich with single layer of cold cuts + $6 French fries I was expecting Salt Bay to come out add salt and feed me every bite of it. That being said , would I go back?
