I am Sylvia, and on July 10th of this year, I had a sleeve surgery that would change my life for the better forever! better health etc. I am an attorney who graduated from Seattle University School of Law and I have since moved East to a different state, but after the birth of my youngest son when I was 39, I could NOT get my weight under control no matter how much gym time, personal trainer time, proper balanced diet, professional diet, ie, Keto, Atkins, Isagenix, HCG.... I modeled in my 20's and early 30's and really was NOT one who fought fat imbalance (normal weight was 135, but I have high muscle mass) till after the birth of my last child, (full term weight was 219 lbs, and climbed to 233 before surgery). Not once did I feel I was just another number, not once did I feel a lack of compassion. AT ALL TIMES IN MY EXPERIENCE THUS FAR, I HAVE FELT FULLY SUPPORTED, ENCOURAGED AND POSITIVE!! Truly professional ALL THE WAY AROUND, from appointment staff to all other medical professionals I have interacted with....Kim, my dietician, Jillian or Esmiralda, my medical assistants, or Faun, the receptionist. I particularly have high regard for Sunny who shared her personal journey with me and was so kind in comforting my panic over hitting a plateau in my weight loss!! I am NOT one to sugar coat ANYTHING, so rest assured, I am NOT exaggerating about my direct experience with this clinic and staff! I started my journey with Eviva a little over two years ago. I was researching weight loss surgery centers in WA and Eviva was very highly rated. After my consult with Dr. Harris and my interaction with staff, I felt this was the best place to have my life altering surgery. I worked with a nutritionist for 3 months prior to surgery, due to insurance requirments. After losing 160+ lbs I have also had two plastic surgeries so far, also performed by Dr. Harris. I am beyond pleased with my results from all surgeries. I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am with my decision to go with Eviva. Everyone I have worked with, surgeon, dieticians, nurses, patient coordinators, billing department, front desk staff have all been professional, helpful, and supportive. The company did go through some changes last year, as many companies will during their lifetime. Throughout that I never felt that the standards of care were negatively impacted. I have never had any issues with billing. I am seen promptly for my appointments, I've only had to have an appointment rescheduled once due to a surgery and it was handled quickly and professionally. For all my surgeries everyone I came in contact with in the surgery center were positive, professional and clearly happy and I felt that I was well taken care of and in competent hands. My experience with PSSC was AMAZING!! Dr. Landerholm and his staff were professional, courteous were there for me every step of the way. I had the lap sleeve done in June 2012 and I have lost, and kept off 100 lbs! I had researched the lap sleeve before I decided on it and Dr. Landerholm's staff was very informative and available for questions or concerns at any time. PSSC makes sure that you understand everything and even 2 years later they are still available to me. All of his staff made me feel comfortable and confident. On surgery day, they were super attentive to make sure I was comfortable and not stressed. My insurance did not cover this and I had read about this surgery being performed in Mexico for half the cost, however, I would urge anyone considering this to not go to Mexico because at PSSC you are treated like family, not a commodity. I wanted the best of the best and my health is of utmost importance. It is not a time to bargain hunt. The follow-up care provided by PSSC is second to none. During the times I had concerns or issues, I was glad that my doctor and his staff were LOCAL and available. It made such a difference in my recovery. These poor reviews are very sad to me. A lot of assumptions and terrible things are being said that are simply not true. I've been a patient since 2015. I've lost over 140 pounds between Medical Weight Loss and Surgical Weight Loss. I've had skin removal surgery and have been trained on how to eat and maintain a healthy lifestyle with their bariatricians and dietitians. Have I had struggles over the years? absolutely! Have I had appointments be rescheduled? sure. But have I also had to change appointments myself, yes! This company is no different then any other company who has hit hard times and had to make changes. And yeah there has been a lot of changes at Eviva and the landscape has changed, staff has changed one of my surgeons is no longer there and they have gotten smaller but as they stood by me through my struggles as my landscape changed and I got smaller or I failed and gained at times and felt defeated, I as many others have stood by them in their hard times. Their doors aren't closing, they have been making a lot of great positive changes that I can feel when I walk in the lobby. It feels happy again, I'm greeted with smiles. There is a feeling of family and comfort even with new faces saying hello to me because this place helped me save my life. The staff has had to deal with a lot and they are amazing! I had lap sleeve surgery on April 22nd. After reading the other post with 1 star I had to respond. I agree the office staff isn't 100 percent on the ball, and they've been rude or pushy, but these people saved my life, I followed their directions and my life is better for it. my surgery an my wife's surgery went awesome, I wouldn't change a thing, they did great. Any problems I did have were taken care of promptly. 5 years later, in retrospect, the surgery saved my life, it got my wife past her fertility issues, now we have a wonderful baby girl, but the billing habits and referral practices were shady as hell. I paid a lot more out of pocket than I needed to because the clinic required I use their psychiatrist who wasn't properly licensed so I couldn't get reimbursed by my insurance. The clinic offered me $2000 off my out of pocket for meeting a weight loss goal which would allow me to have surgery in their clinic, I did so and they still billed me for the money and despite me bringing it to their attention sent it to collections, despite the fact they made me prepay for nutritional and other follow up appointments I never went to or used. These guys are definitely for profit first, still 5 stars, I'm still down 200 pounds, looking good, but most importantly a father to a 2 /12 read more

I received my Lap Sleeve (Sleeve Gastrectomy) in September 2018, and my doctor was Dr. Landerholm. Making the decision to get surgery was one of the hardest choices I've ever made, but I'm so glad that I did. I wanted to hide the fact that I was getting surgery from my friends and family because I always pretended that I was happy with my weight. When I finally told them about it they could not have been more supportive of me. Dr. Landerholm was incredibly empathetic to me and really understood everything I was going through. I have lost as much as 80lbs during my cycles of dieting and exercising, only to gain it back. I started off at over 300lbs. I'm now down to the low 200's. I've lost more weight than I ever had in my life and am still dropping. It's amazing, I feel like the inside mechanics that have driven my obsession with food and overeating have changed and I CAN CONTROL IT NOW!!! I haven't felt healthier or more confident in my life. The front desk staff is amazing, always happy to see me and I'm always so impressed that they remember who I am and compliment me on my progress! My biggest complaint is the waiting time at each appointment. I'm always told to go early, and then when my appointment time comes I have to wait even longer.... read more

I have been a patient with Eviva since 2007 when they were PSSC. Originally had a LapBand. After 10 years, I needed a revision done and Dr. Stewart took me in and cared about the issues I was having. After thorough testing, I decided to have my LapBand removed and the VSG performed. Best decision ever! Now a year post-op, I'm down 100lbs and close to my goal weight. I decided to have skin removal surgery and only thought of Eviva as the care I received has always been excellent. Dr. Harris evaluated me and gave me my options - of which I chose the Fleur de Lis. I am now 3 month's post-op FDL (15 months post-op Sleeve) and loving the new me!! Yes, Eviva has gone through some changes this past year, but have taken in all the feedback and are actively working on improvements. They care deeply about all their patients. Although I am thrilled with my overall results, if I ever need/want another procedure, I will come here for sure. read more

The doctors and staff at Puget Sound Surgical Center are amazing! I walked into Dr Billing's office the summer of 2012 and weighed almost 380 lbs. I could not walk into most shops and buy clothes. I could not find shoes that fit my wide feet. I felt fat, ugly and was sure my husband was ashamed of me. Almost two years out I have lost 140lbs. I can now walk into any store and buy cute clothes and shoes. I am not embarrassed for my husband to introduce me as his wife. More importantly is how the quality of my life has changed. I recently went for a 20 mile bike ride after not having been on a bike in a decade. I walk around town and my husband has to tell me to slow down. I was raised by a doctor and an RN, and I can tell you that this practice is special. When I found Eviva, I was 405 pounds and struggling to even walk through a grocery store without back pain. Today - I've had a Sleeve Surgery, a Gall Bladder Surgery, and two plastics procedures through Eviva - and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone - and HAVE done so! I cannot say enough great stuff about PSSC. They have literally changed my life, for the better. Dr. Billings performed my bariatric surgery in June of 2013 and he was great. Very personable and warm, and boy does he know his stuff. But he wasn't even the best part. The support staff from my first phone call, to the insurance coordinator, to the nurses, nutritionists, personal trainers, and everyone else behind the scenes were the reason we chose PSSC above everyone else. I elected to have a lap sleeve operation last year. After reviewing the procedure and consulting with my primary care doctor, I decided to go with Dr. Crouthamel at PSSC. Prepping for surgery was straightforward. I appreciated the lengths Dr. Crouthamel and his staff went to in order to minimize the risks of this surgery. It took me about eight weeks to get to my surgery. It's hard for me to imagine how things could have gone better. Everything was professional and organized. Surgery was not bad. I had very little pain or other negatives. I am grateful to Dr. Crouthamel and all of the other professionals at PSSC. My experience was flawless. I'm 3 weeks out from having the Gastric Sleeve surgery at Eviva. I'm so glad I chose this clinic as well as my surgeon, Dr. Landerholm. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure I had the tools to succeed. The surgery itself went very well- my only input would be that I would have loooooved to have stayed overnight instead of going home the evening of my surgery. I was physically fine, but it would have been awesome to have been taken care of by the nurses instead of going home. I am very happy with the care and treatment I received at Eviva Medical in Shoreline. I decided to have the sleeve surgery and met with Dr. Stewart. From the very beginning, the whole process was easy and informative. It's a sensitive subject to go in and talk to someone about your weight issues. But, the staff I worked with was so kind and non-judgmental. I had surgery with Dr. Landerholm and his support team 11 months ago and it was the best experience and I have had wonderful results that have changed my life forever. I have lost a total of 131 pounds and have gained back a lifetime of health and improved my health by 100%. The only thing that is negative is the Nurse Practioner Named Bridget Scott-Fletcher was very rude and impatient at my three week re-check after my Sleeve Procedure last June. 26 months ago Dr Billing and the entire staff at PSSC saved my life. I sit here today almost 150 pounds lighter and living a full life for the first time in at least 25 years. 5 months ago I went back in and had Dr. Harris remove the excess skin left behind from my weight loss. I have my surgery in June 2018 with Dr. Landerholm. Everyone at the Eviva clinic was wonderful and encouraging. They took great of care of before, during and after the operation. I have lost 78lbs in nine months and couldn't be happier with my results! My weight lost result in lowering my cholesterol as well as reversing my diabetes. I had a gastric sleeve with Dr. Brandon Vanderweil at Eviva in 2020, and then a revision to bypass in 2021. Dr. Vanderweil and all staff at Eviva have been WONDERFUL! I was so nervous about making the decision to go forward with bariatric surgery, but I am absolutely thrilled that I did it! My weight at surgery was 240 and I am now down to 150. My BMI is now normal! My only regret has been that I didn't make the decision to see Dr. Vanderweil years ago. I don't think I've ever felt so cared for by a medical team before.
