However, it was super early, but the 85% charging limit was still in effect, and I expected to charge to 100% (it's a lease!) Sigh, so I had to drive almost 3 miles to get here, and couldn't fully charge. Electrify America should program in early morning hours charging (say 3AM-7AM) to be allowed to go up to 100% at the driver's discretion, just like the programming for different prices at various times of the day, even at busy locations with limited chargers like this one!

When we arrived at the hotel there were many other guests in the check-in line too. They had only one counter open and no separate one for Bonvoy platinum members. It took us close to half an hour to complete the check-in. We got a spacious corner room that had great window view. All the amenities in the room were functional. The bathroom actually had a bidet toilet. But the shower was rusty and had low water pressure. The room service was wonderful. All the staff members were friendly. For check-out, there was some waiting again as few people were in front of us in the line. The hotel was 30-40 minutes from prime locations like downtown LA, Universal and Disneyland in Anaheim. The Sofi stadium was about half an hour away. There was an outlet mall only 20 minutes away. The Santa Anita mall was also about 20 minutes away. The parking garage was easy to get in and out from. Once we started exploring the surrounding neighborhood, we realized Monterey Park had a huge Asian community with lots of shops and restaurants all around. So it turned out to be an excellent location for us. We went to many nearby Asian spots like Molly Tea, 85 bakery, Din Tai Fung, Chicha San Chen, Formosa Aroma, many other local spots. Most of the time the ice cream is cheaper than that of Whole Foods, etc for the same product. I find random deals. Last time I was there, some hummus was only a dollar and change. It is the same size as other grocery stores that charge $2-4. The small portion salmon really comes out well when you cook it. But you do have to be careful if you do self checkout. One time, I scanned the 30% off sticker. Not only did it charge me for 30% off the sticker but it also charged me for the full price. If I was not one to look at my receipt, I would've been been charged 170%. It is sad that this location is closing next week. The last time I went, I heard the last day is 03/13. No word on what's next but one possible scenario is Whole Foods moving in. We shall see... If you want to check it out, you only have a few more days.
