I brought my 2018 Ford Explorer in for a recall service about a month and a half ago. Before taking it in, my driver's seat was working properly and was adjusted to a higher position. When I picked up my vehicle, the seat was noticeably lower than where I had left it, would no longer raise properly, and was making a noise that had not been present before. I immediately brought it to the dealership's attention and did not even leave the Ford lot because it affected my visibility while driving. As someone who transports my children daily, this is a safety concern. During my conversation with the Service Director, Steven, he explained that they did not yet know what had happened and that an investigation would be needed. He discussed that vehicle handling during service could be one of the possibilities being reviewed. Because of that conversation, I expected a thorough investigation and a clear explanation of how the final conclusion was reached. I was later contacted to schedule another appointment. The dates offered did not work because of my work schedule, so I asked if I could bring the vehicle in on a day I had off. I was told the service department was extremely busy and that there was a good chance my vehicle would not be looked at that day, but that I was welcome to bring it in. I brought my vehicle in, and approximately two hours later I received a call stating the issue was due to wear and tear and internal binding of the seat motor. What was frustrating was how quickly a definitive conclusion seemed to be reached after I had just been told there likely would not be time for a full inspection that day because they were already booked with service appointments. I asked several questions, including whether the condition of the seat had been documented before service, whether the seat position was noted during intake, whether camera footage or vehicle handling had been reviewed, and what specific steps were taken during the investigation. I never received answers to those questions. My concern has always been simple: the seat was functioning properly before the recall service and was not functioning properly when it was returned to me. Even if the dealership believes the issue is wear and tear, I never received an explanation as to how that conclusion was reached or what investigation was performed to rule out other possibilities. Steven later informed me that Ford Corporate would be contacted and that a Ford representative would review the situation. I was told I would receive an update afterward. I followed up multiple times by email, documented my safety concerns, and even stopped by the dealership in person. During that visit, I was told Steven was not there and that no other manager was available, that they come in when they want. It has now been over a month and a half, and I still have not received a response, update, or follow-up regarding the corporate review. At this point, my biggest disappointment is the lack of communication and follow-through. If a customer is told there will be an investigation, a corporate review, and a follow-up, then there should be follow-up. I would appreciate transparency, clear communication, and answers to my questions. More importantly, I would like this issue properly addressed and resolved. I simply expected better customer service, especially with a concern that affects safe driving and the safety of my children and myself.

Really frustrating experience -- if there are delays, customers should be notified instead of having to keep calling and waiting. AutoZone would never do this.

The entire place gave off a low-class, low-end dealership vibe where it felt like the only thing that mattered was their own bottom line, not actually listening to or taking care of the customer. I brought my friend Marcos in as a NEW potential client because I thought I was bringing him somewhere that would actually take care of him. I was willing to co-sign for him if necessary and was prepared to put $15,000-$20,000 down myself to help make the deal happen. We were serious buyers and absolutely prepared to spend money. Instead, the salesperson assigned to us seemed distracted and more interested in pushing one specific truck than figuring out what Marcos actually wanted. The guy didn't even take us outside to properly show us a truck! Imagine walking into a car dealership ready to buy and they can't even be bothered to walk the lot with you. The experience was disorganized from the beginning. I had already spoken with Chuck about coming in, yet when I arrived it seemed like our previous conversation had been forgotten. That same morning, another representative called asking if I was interested in a vehicle. I told her I was literally coming in to see Chuck that day and she responded, "Oh, that's right, that's why I'm calling." That pretty much summed up the level of attention and organization we experienced. What bothered me most was the feeling that assumptions were being made about us and what we could or couldn't afford before anyone even took the time to understand the situation. What a shame. I brought them a brand-new potential customer, was willing to co-sign, and was prepared to put $15K-$20K down to make a deal happen. Instead, the way both Marcos and I were treated made us get up and leave. We'll take our business elsewhere and cultivate better relationships with dealerships that actually value their customers and understand the importance of building long-term professional relationships. You had serious buyers sitting in your dealership ready to make a deal and somehow managed to make them walk out. That says everything about the experience.

When the DMV renewal registration came in around March 2025, it required a smog check and for some odd reason, a recall that decided to show up in that renewal that was originally issued in 1999/2000--a 26 year old recall! We had trouble getting the vehicle to pass smog and had to balance my now-late father's deteriorating health at the time, meant we had to place everything on hold. My father passed in February of this year and revisited this project in July. Got the smog to pass in late August, but then hit the roadblock with the recall. Enter, Mr. David Canche. This whole process took about a month but mainly due to my availability due to work, only being available on weekends and the time it also took as the gentleman escalated from within on how to address the issue. All in all, I had to step in on a day I thankfully had off from work and complete some paperwork. To my understanding, that paperwork was forwarded to GM, who then closed the case with the DMV and removed the recall requirement. I waited a little over a week before I called the DMV, just to ensure enough time was given to have their systems update. I called the DMV this past week and indeed, we were in the clear to pay the renewal registration and receive the updated registration and associated tags. From the moment I arrived, the staff wasn't particularly warm or welcoming. Instead, the entire experience felt very impersonal. The facility itself didn't help. The place felt incredibly outdated and uninviting. Between the décor, seating, and overall atmosphere, I honestly couldn't decide if I was sitting at the DMV, a gas station, or in an old hospital waiting room. There was nothing comfortable, polished, or remotely premium about the experience. It was actually pretty pitiful. I understand that a dealership service department doesn't need to feel like a luxury hotel, but there should still be some level of pride in the facility and an effort to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable, especially when people may be sitting there for an extended period of time. As someone who is brand new to Chevy, this was definitely not the first impression I was hoping for. I'm already starting to wonder if this is simply what I should expect from most Chevy dealerships, but I'll be trying another location for my future service needs before making that judgment. Coming from years of owning a Mercedes-Benz Fletcher Jones and having my vehicle serviced in Newport Beach, the difference in the overall experience is worlds apart. It actually makes me somewhat regret my purchase. When you invest in a vehicle, the ownership experience doesn't end when you drive off the lot. Service, hospitality, the over all dealership maintenance and how you're treated afterward are all part of the experience you're paying for, and unfortunately, this fell very short of what I'm accustomed to.
