This location never answers the phones. Dont bother calling, i have tried multiple times a day,…read moredifferent days, and waited for over 30 minutes for NO ONE to answer the phone to even say "hold on". Showed up right after i hung up and employees are just sitting there at the back desks. They told me and another customer that they do not like to answer the phones it's a hassle. (We informed them we had tried calling). Meanwhile the phone was still ringing in the back. I've been renting here for over 2 years because it's closest to my business. Tried to rent a box truck today and they did everything short of a background check. Wouldn't let us rent without a utility bill, must have proof of address with the primary DRIVERS NAME AND 3 references. Gloria tried to inform us this was "standard procedure" but in the 2 years renting, I've NEVER had to verify that much. Using a debit or credit card. Last time being 2 weeks ago. Also you can not rent a box truck without a major credit card. Only trucks & cargo vans can be rented with a debit card. Gloria was a pain to deal with. I'd rather pull out teeth than to deal with her again. She lacks customer service. Tried to be condescending. And "explained" to me that for the past 2 years (even when the manager assisted me) everyone was doing it wrong. I live in Los Angeles, my business is in commerce down the street. Gloria also informed me I'd have "better luck" with the location closest to my home instead of this location. Edited to add 07-01-2022. I placed a reservation after speaking the the manager yesterday. Again, this is the closest location to my business. Manager helped me since the truck i reserved was out of stock. Told me to come in next day, that'll he'll have a truck ready for me. Came in today and Gloria was there by herself. Stating she refused to help me because of my "unacceptable" review. And to go to another agency because she saw my review and doesn't want to service me.

This place came up on my internet browser so I gave it a try. Paul was very helpful and made the entire transaction easy peasy. They had inventory available right away and went above and beyond my expectations. He also made sure the inside of the truck was clean and ready to go. I highly recommend renting from this place. They truly appreciate their customers. Prices are very reasonable and their trucks are clean.

We went there with absolutely no help from two ladies working there. They sent to another location to get the biggest truck. But after we got there we were told they only had the 20 foot middle sized. We called back this location and they said 'we told you it was that size.' Nope, we wouldn't have gone 30 minutes out of our way to get something we didn't want. However I called back Paul, who was lovely to speak with and did end up getting me the biggest truck in Long Beach. Which saved our move. Had it not been for his diligence we would have been behind. I made a phone call to the brothers over there and they had me in a RV with less than a 48 Hour notice. The vehicle had a missing dipstick tube, a real safety issue their own mechanic waved off with "just don't insert it too far." A propane leak forced me to shut off the system mid-trip, which meant no refrigeration for my sister-in-law's insulin and three unplanned nights in hotels. I thought that would have been the hard part but turns out that was the easier part of our trip. When my dad returned the vehicle, the woman working the counter refused to even look at the paperwork, told him "that's not my problem," when he described the issues and wouldn't give me her name. When he started taking photos of the RV to document the return, she ran out, shouted profanity, and shoved HIM, then called 911 and told the dispatcher he was intoxicated and threatening her. None of that was true. Two Downey PD officers responded, and did not cite, arrest, or asked him to leave. In fact, they asked if he wanted to file a charge of assault. I later learned she is the actual owner of this Xpress Auto Rental location, not just an employee, which makes the behavior even harder to excuse, since there's no manager above her to hold this accountable. My dad is in his 70s and it was really hard to witness this business owner screaming, pushing and falsely claiming untrue things. Cruise America corporate reviewed my complaint and refunded the full amount we were owed, which tells you they took this seriously. I waited to review until the complaint was settled but if you are considering renting here, know that this is who you'll be dealing with, and does someone like that really deserve your money.
