I admit that I came into E F R, to try the coconut cake that my dear cousin said was amazing, and looking at the picture that I saw it really did look delicious. We three came in at lunchtime, our server said they were incredibly busy today, so in hind-side maybe, just maybe we should have grabbed three slices at the first contact with our server because by the time we ordered, and ate lunch ( it took forever for our order to reach us) the cake was gone!!! Had a late breakfast here today since it's near the movie theatre. I had the florentine omelette with hash browns and rye toast. I got the hollandaise for the omelette on the side. Everything came out hot and delicious in a timely manner. The service overall was great -- lots of coffee refills without having to track someone down. The desserts looked heavenly but I was too stuffed. I'll need to go back someday and give one a try, especially the coconut cake or pie. read more

I haven't been to Eve's in several years, but not because of a negative experience. I remember how delicious their prime rib is. Anyway, our church's men's group was looming for a new spot and we ended up here this morning. LOVED IT!! There were maybe 10-12 of us, and everyone raved at how good their meal was! The pancakes looked and smelled amazing, but I had the veggie omelette with home fries and an English muffin. The omelette was DELICIOUS -- moist, a big portion, and you could tell the veggies weren't out of some bag, but fresh cut before being cooked. Same with the potatoes cut up for the home fries. Our waitress Lori was attentive and kept us satisfied, even with a full dining room. GREAT service! This is now my new favorite breakfast spot in town, and I WILL be back with friends and family! I've been here a couple of times, it's a typical diner. Today I came after my Zumba class to get breakfast. Didn't realize when I ordered mini waffles, eggs and bacon that I was getting a free side of MAGA complete with conspiracy theories (Hunter Biden, Obama is really running the country, money laundering, you know... the greatest hits). How a business would allow an angry and combative little woman to wear a Trump shirt and spout this bullshit while people are trying to enjoy a meal is beyond me. Won't be back. With my wife on a family cruise (Nope I'm not ready for a ship full of people), I invited a couple from church to have St Patrick's Day lunch with me. Just celebrated their seventy ninth (79!!!) anniversary. Both use walkers and neither drive so we're like "adopted kids". Eve's was really busy, even though we came at 1:00 PM. But we were seated right away and ordered teas. We glanced at menus but of course we all ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage meal, with salad salads. Our salads and fresh rolls came quickly. Salads were fresh, chilly and delicious. Since they were so busy we had ample time to talk while enjoying our salads. About the time we were finishing our salads our Huge plates of food came. Oh boy! Why do we have to wait a whole year to enjoy this? The corned beef was super and sooo tender I didn't need the knife to cut it. Potatoes were soft and perfect. Cabbage was just a bit Al Dente? Not quite as tender as I would have liked but I was able to saw through it in small pieces. Still crunchy, it too was delicious. And a side of horseradish, fairly mild, was a good partner for the beef. Then disaster struck!!! As I reached for a roll from the basket I bumped my tea glass and a full glass of tea went all over my side of the table, partly in my plate but mostly in my lap! I used all the napkins on our table and Debbie, our excellent server, brought more. Managed to clean up the table mostly but my pants looked like a too-late run for the bathroom! Thankfully it was a slow meal so by the time we left my pants didn't show as being soaked. Oh my. I don't think I have spilled a drink in years! Maybe I was too excited going after the yummy rolls. No pics of my wet pants and also no pic of the Coconut Cream Pie we shared. When we moved to this small Florida town 33 years ago, Eve's was just a donut shop. Then later served breakfast, again later added lunch and finally dinner. I've never had a bad meal there in all this time. And their cakes and pies are absolutely the best around. The service was quick and friendly. The dinning area clean and welcoming. They have several daily specials. I had the pot roast and it was very good. I would order it again. I did not care for the mixed vegetables. We also had salads with our meal. My sister had the meatloaf. She said it was ok but not memorable. She wouldn't order it again. The coconut cake was wonderful. All the food brought to tables around us, looked and smelled delicious . Pricing was average $14.-$15 per person. We will definitely be back. Classic homemade comfort food. I highly recommend you try it. We will be going back again today. Location was very close to Mease countryside hospital. read more

Excellent food! When i visit my parents they always take me to this little place, a hidden gem for sure! The food here is SO good! They know how to make cheese grits and eggs benedict correctly! I have been dining at and talking about Eves for near 40 years. I have brought so many family, friends, colleagues and coworkers to dine here over the years. Today, my server was still amazing, the pot roast special was delicious. Then at the end of the experience I am speaking with the opinionated person at the register go on about how covid is a hoax and climate change is a scam all the while wearing her Trump T-shirt. I have loved the folks, Miss Eve, in particular, however I am super disappointed in the interaction I had as I was handing over my money. I don't enter any establishment to be lectured on your opinions, religion, or politics. I have avoided this person in the past because Ive heard her speaking her vitriolic opinions in the restaurant before but today was front and center. A good breakfast Super friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Well, maybe not my home, but you know what I mean. We arrived shortly before closing and while it was busy, we were seated right away. They offer a good menu for good prices. When I spotted Chipped Beef I almost got it, but in the end opted for their Original Country Skillet. And I love it when I can get a pancake instead of a piece of toast, syrup is one of my favorite food toppings. Preoccupied, I didn't time it, but it didn't take long at all for our food to arrive. My first impression was the skillet was a bit small, but by the time I finished I had enough. The pancake helped - lol. I discovered while the skillet didn't seem to have a lot of home fries, it had lots of meat, especially bacon. The skillet also has ham, sausage, cheese, and a couple of eggs. Could have used more cheese. Another person with me got a club sandwich that looked great plated. Liked the place, and in reading some of the other reviews these are new digs. Pretty Solid Breakfast The eggs were eggs, nothing special. The ham was pretty good. The tomato slices were mealy. The cinnamon raisin toast was quite nice. We also had a special Cinnamon Apple Streusel French Toast. The outer parts, corners and edges were very good. The interior was soggy. The coffee was good. So my wife and I go into Eves this past Friday, we sit down at the bar for breakfast, and we are treated to this Toad of a woman berating her staff, whining about the cash register, and creating such a scene that she has most of the patrons in disbelief, I am thinking she is the daughter of the owner and has an attitude of all that, so i say to her, we don't need to hear all of your BS, my wife and i are here for a nice quiet breakfast and if you do not stop we are leaving, we had already placed our orders, she looks at me and my wife and waves bye bye, so we left and after more than30 yrs. of going there we are finished. I would warn anyone going there to think again and ask yourself what kind of person would behave like this as a business owner, and do you really want to eat at a 3rd rate dump such as this?? We recently went to Eve's for a friend's birthday party. They have a small separate room that accommodated our group well. Service was wonderful and it's challenging to handle a group of party goers after a long hiatus due to Covid. The two dishes that got rave reviews were the Parmesan encrusted fish and the ribs. I'll start by saying that some of the food here is very good. Comes out hot and well-prepared. The large omelets are stuffed with meat or veggies and are accompanied by hashbrowns or grits and a pancake or toast. The pancakes are subpar, being rubbery and tasteless. The water tastes almost like salt water so if you are a water drinker beware. We have eaten lunch here and most of their sandwiches are oversized and quite good. The food, however, is not enough to make up for the extremely slow/poor service. The inside of Eve's is lit by florescent lights and is plain, like the inside of many local diners. A bar runs on one side of the room and there are a few beers on tap. The service, unfortunately, is extremely slow and natter of fact - not friendly at all. I understand that COVID has made wait-staffs difficult to man, but there is no excuse for neglect and rudeness. We entered Eve's at 1:28 pm on a Sunday and chose seats according to the sign up front. We were finally greeted for the first time at 1:42. The server took our orders, upcharged us on absolutely everything without telling us of the upcharge, and had to be flagged down for attention. To be objective, she told us they were short staffed but we counted 5 servers on the floor in a restaurant that is small and was not slammed with patrons. All told, with so many great breakfast or lunch options in the area, I would advise passing on Eve's. read more

My wife and I came in here for the first time a few months back and we couldn't believe how good the breakfast was. They keep it fairly simple while offering a good sized menu with tons of different options. The quality of food, service and value is fantastic. We now find ourselves coming in here 2-3 times per month for breakfast and we know that when we come in here it will always be a solid breakfast. read more
