Several ganged up and had their husbands chew me out as well. There is no phone #. Nobody to talk to in person. Maybe if there had been a real person to talk to instead of just on the computer, it could have been more personalized. They also lost my application. We waited for them after a few days and lost another dog in the process because we were waiting on them. Then when they found it said my husband and I would not be a good match for a corgi because he needed a furry friend. He would have been an only dog. Word of warning their requirements are tight and not flexible when placing pets. I get that, but they never really tried to explain why we were denied. We were upset. Like a lot of organizations like this they tried to defend themselves by saying I was just bitter and should just move on which we will, but. In view of all the nasty comments and loosing another dog in the process we thought that other people out there should be fore warned. It would have been more professional if they had just apologized instead of bad mouthing me on the computer. They have some cute pets, but some of the volunteers are treacherous. They should treat potential pet adopters with more respect if they expect donations which is the only way they survive. No donations from us because of their bad behavior. We also feel because we are an older (WHITE) couple it could have been age discrimination. Otherwise, they would have thought twice about what they said to me on face book. Had not been to Petco before but with the covid my furbaby needed her vaccinations and rabie shots…read morebecause everywhere i called was booked...she also neededa haircut and bath but they were booked a month out. But I didn't know they didn't have an actual clinic but it was a nice setup. I was told when I arrived to text and let them know I was here which I was about 15 mins early for my appt. I waited about 20 mins until they finally called and said I could come in. Which I did and found it was several people waiting so i waited my turn inline about another 15 minutes or so. Once it was my turn they weighed Remy and then i waited about another 10 minutes until it was her turn to be seen. The girl explained the different packages they had and I made my selection. When it was her turn they checked her out thoroughly and informed me of a couple of other things I was not aware of. The process was early and quick and we will be back.

Most of us are familiar with our local county animal shelters, but I had never heard of Cats Haven…read moreuntil volunteering with a group of friends. Cats Haven is Indianapolis' oldest no-kill, free-roaming cat sanctuary. It cares especially for elderly cats or those with special needs (missing limbs/eyes, genetic disorders, etc). I would estimate in this three-story house they have at least 100 cats. {Did my fact checking - on its website, it says 300 cats are in its "network" - meaning living in the shelter or in a foster home or feral cat colony in the community). They do adopt some cats out who are well enough to be adopted out, but for most of the felines, this is the place they will live out their days in comfort, basking in the sunlight or by the fireplace. For awhile, it kept its location a secret in an effort to prevent midnight drop-offs of unwanted cats {they do not take cats from the public}. Now it seems the address is more public, largely because it is in greater need of donations. Its most recent fundraiser was the Purr-Fect Cup Cat Cafe. It looks like it is hoping to introduce more of the community to its work in the coming year. Cats Haven has an open-door policy, and anyone can drop in during business hours. Fair warning: the place VERY much smells like cats {what do you expect - there are cats everywhere} but I am impressed with the quality of the facility and how dedicated its staff is. I hope Cats Haven will see continued success!

When i first arrived here at cats haven for the open house, I was impressed with the number of cats roaming around the yard and house. These cats are all older and some were injured or crippled. They all seem so friendly and appear to be well taken care of. A caged area out back let's the indoor cats get outside through a clever ramp system. Without this shelter, many of the cats would be euthanized because of their disabilities. It seems like an awfully big responsibility to care for some of these cute little critters, but I understand the passion that makes it all work. This place works mainly from donations and if your a cat lover like me, you need to get in here and see the great things going on and give them a hand.

Halfway through the 2nd kennel we found a pretty girl just waking up from her nap The place was total chaos with barking dogs. She just sat up and wagged her tail. We had her brought outside and we hung with her for about an hour No pressure from the staff at all. We finally decided that we had stumbled on probably the perfect pup. She's home with us now and I do believe she is very happy. She was surrendered by a homeless person who could not care for her anymore. So we will shower her with love and kisses for as long as she is with us.

We were simply looking at the dogs in kennel 3, specifically near Lobo. She comes in and says "Yeah…read morethis is what we're not gonna do" and goes on a rant in a rude manner. Many other people were sticking hands in, getting near, but we were the only ones getting yelled at. I told her she could've said it nicer and she states "Well it's loud in here, so it's the nicest i can say it". This is not the first time service here has been terrible, people here are quite rude and ruin other's days. She also stated she would kick us out, she went over the top. If employee have bad days they should know how to deal with those feelings, not take it out on customers

Her organizational skills are lacking also. When I spoke to her assistant to schedule the first time, I asked for a fax number to send the boys vaccinations, and after taking the time to do that, this woman had no idea how to access her faxes for some reason, and I had to bother my vet's office again. I took my two teacup Pomeranians here ONE time. One of my poms had a pretty, full coat when he went in, and when he came out, half of it was gone. I specifically asked that he not be trimmed too much. My husband thought we should give the groomer another chance. When I came for a second time, and asked her not to cut it short like last time, she argued with me, swearing she didn't cut it short. Now maybe she defines "short" as shaved to the skin or something, but his hair was so much shorter, that we had to put him in a harness one size smaller. Never had that with another groomer. Not only that, but however she cut his hair, it is not growing back. She basically wrecked his coat, and is trying to blame the dog, saying he has "coat funk" (which our vet says is made up groomer jargon). Rather than blaming the dog, all this woman needed to do was to listen to me when I told her not to cut too much of my dog's hair off. Instead, she had to be right, and had to have the last word. She refused to listen, was rude, and kept repeatedly using this term "coat funk." The final straw was when she said "I didn't give your dog coat funk." No lady, you gave him the crappiest hack job of a hair cut he's ever had, and wrecked his coat. You did that. Not the dog. And I will let everyone know that this is the last place to take a dog you care about. If your dog has any kind of double coat, I advise you to go elsewhere. If you have any special instructions you want implemented, go elsewhere. If you want to be listened to, go elsewhere. You and your dog deserve better.

She is a very shy and anxious girl and has ALWAYS hated going to the vet. By happenstance we had to find a new one and decided to go with City Way. FRIENDS!! From the moment we walked in, we were treated with care and kindness. They didn't force Daisy to do anything (I'm used to them holding her down as she looks at me, terrified) and gave her EXCELLENT care!! They had fantastic ideas and suggestions. They gave us plenty of time and made sure that all of my questions and concerns were addressed. I could seriously cry tears of joy writing this. It feels good when others care for your loved one like you do. I am so happy that we made the switch!!!

Fast forward to yesterday, and my poor dog dislocated her hip. My wife called city way at 2pm, and they were unable to see her at any of their six lications. Unfortunate, but understandable. I take my dog to the clinic, they pop her leg back into socket and put a tape sling to immobilize it. Fast forward to this morning and she has already worked the sling off. We give city way a call and they state they don't do ortho. Weird, but okay. My wife calls with advice from the vet for shelbys pain meds and giving her benedryl. It is now 4 hours later and they still haven't gotten back with us. I could not recommend them less.
