I got 5 written bids from companies that do lights. I learned a few things during the process. One thing you need to make sure of is that the manufacturer has their own installers. I've had the "permanent" light system for 5 years. It was ok for the first year but I've had constant lights dying and needing to be replaced since then. The EverLights installer came out and fixed them the first couple times, then he closed business. The parent company wouldn't recognize his work as official even though they are the ones who referred him to do the install and he was an actual franchisee. So no more warranty repairs. They treated me like a DIY installer after that point, which wasn't the case but whatever. I ended up having to buy new LED strip sections regularly and replace dead LED sections myself, which I do know how to do - I just didn't want to, which is why I paid one of their installers to do it in the first place. I've always fixed the problems as they happened even though it's a pain and is completely beside the point of getting one if these expensive "permanent" light systems in the first place... but the LEDs kept dying. And it was getting to be every few months or so. Now the controller itself has died. Says it's connected, been reset per instructions, reconnected, all shows fine in the app, but lights won't turn on at all. Just dead. It's not user error. I know how it's supposed to work. Like I said I've used it for five years. I'm done with this piece of garbage system. It's going in the trash where it belongs. read more

JUST DON"T! I have never had such a challenge, to the point of an attorney apparently being needed, to get a company to stand behind their product and its related warranty. While it may be incidental to the situation, I cannot help but wonder if the situation would still be the same if I was not a female head of the household. After 3+ weeks of the Everlights and their Dealer Success Manager assuring me that would repair my lights that have only worked properly approximately 6 of the 12 months since they were installed, Everlights turned the responsibility back over to the installer on 8/11/23. I am still waiting for my lights to be repaired so that they work as advertised as well as consistent with the warranty that is promised. Right now, I have $8,700 of permanent lighting that still does not work as well as wires hanging from the receiver. My story is this. My experience with the installer and Everlights has been stressful, dreadful, and heart-breaking as I was so excited to have permanent lighting on my house in memory of my Dad since decorating for the holidays is a favorite memory of time spent with him and this time together became even more meaningful after my mom passed away. My lights stopped properly working in April and remain non-functional. It seems to me that Everlights wants the onerous to be on the installer and the installer wants the responsibility to be on Everlights for repairs due to manufacturing issues. Not sure where this leaves me other than with $8,700+ of lights being non-functional more than have been working over the past almost year, permanent lighting that has never functioned as guaranteed when they were installed, and expensive lights that have not been repaired as guaranteed with the one-year warranty. My experience since April alone has been the following: 8/16/23 through today: It was communicated to me that all lights were replaced; however, since they were still not working properly, I was told a receiver box needed to be replaced. I am still waiting for someone to return to replace and reprogram this box; therefore, I am unable to even turn my lights on and all I have to show for the money I spent is wires hanging out of the receiver. 8/16/23 - 6/23/23: In addition to the lights not functioning properly, the bridge was unplugged both from power and the Internet; however, the lights on the upper level remained on with no way to shut them off. 6/23/23: All lights stopped working on the upper level again and multiple lights remained out on the lower level. 6/19/23: This is after Denver Illuminations was out to fix the lights on the upper level and occurred within 5 days of the repairs. Multiple lights stopped working on the bottom level. 4/24/23: Multiple lights on the upper level stopped working. Reached out to Denver Illuminations; however, it took approximately 30-45 days to get my needed repairs worked into their schedule. Before April this year, my experience was the following: 10/6/22: After the repair(s) made on 10/5, the light worked overnight and then were out again when they turned back on the next night evening. 10/5/2022: Within 2 weeks of the of the first repair, the lights stopped working properly once again. 9/9/2022: Outlet installation completed and turned on my Everlights for first time. Regretfully, they did not work as the lights that were white were supposed to be the same color pattern as the other and per Everlights, the pink bulbs are faulty bulbs and may cause issues with the zones. read more

I couldn't be more disappointed with the reliability of Everlight products. When it's all working properly it is cool. However, it's rarely working properly. I've had the system three years now and it's had issues since day one. Had bad lights replaced several times, had the power booster replaced, and have been told I need a new network bridge. Since it's past the short warranty these are all at my expense including the service call every time the original installer comes out to fix something. Sometimes, I've needed to fix his repairs. Unless you have unlimited funds to continuously pay the installer to come out and fix things do not buy this product. They say with Everlights you'll won't need to hand holiday lights every year. Trust me, with Everlights you'll definitely be up on the ladder routinely trying to get them to work properly. read more

I would not recommend Ever lights to anyone. Their product started a fire on our house and we were fortunate not to be hurt, but we were out of our home for 9 months waiting for it to be repaired. Unfortunately, their insurance didn't cover a thing because they got their wiring from China, and because of international problems, we could not recover anything from them. I can't recommend this company for outdoor lights because they have no customer service. Period. 9 months after our lights installation, we had to have them taken down because we w were getting a new roof & gutters. After 5 phone calls seldom answered, leaving messages & talking to 2 of their employees, they wouldn't take down the lights thus canceling our warranty. They got their $2700 so they don't care about customer service afterward. I can't recommend them & I am very sorry that I have their lights. Their customer service support response time is horrible. We purchased two DIY kits last year that work somewhat well. We have to power cycle them every 7 days because the lights, on the 7th day, won't come on, but we make it work (we have had our internet checked and it works great so internet is not the issue). We purchased two DIY kits this year and haven't been able to even turn them on. The wireless receiver we received this year, is different than the wireless receiver we received last year. We have tried multiple times to contact support for help with the new wireless receiver. It is going on 3 weeks and still no response. It is a busy time of year for permanent lighting; however, a 5-minute return phone call would be appreciated. We did receive a text asking when a good time to call would be, we responded and never heard another word. We hate to be "those people" but, we spent a good chunk of money on lights we can't use. read more

We live in Louisiana. First of all the initial installer was a disaster and the lights never worked. After selling out the next installer came along and tried fixing everything correctly but we still kept having problems. After that he quit answering the phone. Reached out directly to the company and finally after an abduct tries I got ahold of someone that seemed like she would help. She tried finding an installer closed to us but never could. Finally we agreed that if she sent replacement bulbs and items I would install myself. She was very helpful. She sent an access of 50 replacement bulbs for free but that wasn't enough. The bulbs either fail completely or turn red when they are about to fail. I called to get more bulbs but the people answering the phone wouldn't let me talk to the lady anymore. They told me I had to start paying for the replacement bulbs. I was frustrated when I was told this and just unplugged the system since the start of the year. As of now I have 33 bulbs that are either out or turned red. This system has been nothing but problems for the cost of it read more

We got these lights installed about 2 years ago, the installation was done by some young kid (yes only one) and the job was horrible, the lights are not perfectly straight and not consistent with the spacing. But they looked "ok" at best. They only lasted 6 months then we had to call tech support, they had to replace a transformer. That lasted 2 weeks, they had to replace many bulbs. Then after the 1 year mark sections started to die. Kept calling them and they say unplug and replugged, that only worked for one day. Every time they come out it's $50. There's exposed wires everywhere and just looks like crap. I do not recommend these lights. They do not stand by their products or installs. Do your research there are tons of more professional companies out there.. I just wasted 3,000$$ read more

Great install, had a few issues when programming my lights. Not able to get a few colors that I wanted. My issue is the customer service, I called in January and waited a month to get any assistance, I had to do most of the communication to fleet a response. The end of January they made contact to troubleshoot the issue, I paid the same day the $75.00 trip charge, expecting a call back within a few days to schedule an appointment, nope I had to call again to be told they would be there the next, folks I work full time and although I would love to be able to take any time off, I cannot. My husband took the day off to be home, I again tried to get a time, the response was, they will call you when they are on their way. My husband waited till noon, called and at that time was told all service work would be cancelled due to the weather.Guess I can only have working lights when the weather is good. Not recommending Everlights to the neighbors that are in the search for permanent outdoor lighting. read more

DON'T DO IT!! The worst investment we have made to date. The first season of lights, great. Used them throughout the year for other little holidays...just ok. The app is terrible and I had to connect to it every time I wanted to turn lights on for a birthday, little holidays like Valentine's, 4th of July, etc. Then throughout the year, the colors started looking a little off. Then came the glitching and some random lights turning on in one section of the house for no rhyme or reason. Tried to connect with Everlights to work out something, THEY WERE NO HELP!! But since then we have had to call the company every year to have them come out because they were not working properly. After 2 years they told us we needed to upgrade the bridge to allow us to operate with the new program and this would take care of our problems. This cost additional money. They do not operate as promised and when I contact the company for assistance, I get a constant run around. The communication is inconsistent and there seems to be zero communication between the installers, customer service representatives, managers, etc. They claim it was a programming issue, and someone came out to do a quick fix to go around the issue. The cords are messy, broken stucco- it has been a nightmare start to finish. I am now told I don't have a warranty on the lights as I haven't paid the balance due to not having functioning lights. Extremely poor customer service!!! I purchased about $1500 in materials and the lights did not work when I tested them. I used a multimeter to determine that the power supply was bad and contacted Everlight Support on Monday. They returned my call after 3 hours and did online troubleshooting to tell me my wireless receiver was bad and they would send a new one the next day. I contacted them the next day to follow up on the status and after 6 hours they returned my call to say that nothing was documented and they started the troubleshooting all over to again tell me my wireless receiver was bad and they would send a new one the next day. I called them numerous times the next day and they never returned my call all day. I called the day after that (Thursday) and finally got some good help. Kim offered to send both a power supply and wireless receiver along with a return label. I received them a few days later (Monday) and replaced the defective power supply so now the lights turn on. For the very expensive product, I would expect better customer service. read more

After 25 years or so of using a service for Christmas Lighting for our home, we decided it was time to enjoy permanent lighting that we could use year round and especially for the Christmas Season. We did our research, or so we thought, and purposely chose Everlights for our home. We were proactive and had them installed in April this year. They worked well for a while, but I went to get them dialed in for the Holiday as we always turn our Christmas Lights on the day after Thanksgiving and found out they no longer worked. Things happen, this we can accept. I called Everlights support to get on the schedule to get them looked at and operable. This was several weeks ago. I had to leave a message that was never returned. I called again the following week and spoke with a helpful support agent that understood we wanted to use our lights for the Holidays and said he would get someone out to us asap, they would call to schedule. About 5 days later, no call to schedule, I call back thinking it was an oversight and someone would be out this week only to find out the soonest they would be able to get anyone to us would be December 18th. My incredible displeasure was met with an attitude of indifference and no resolution. Many reasons were shared, mostly they are short handed and only have 1 tech at the moment. I was not satisfied with this and called back to speak with the owner, or the person in charge of the operation. I was sent to the support manager who confirmed December 18th was the best they could/would do, but they would extend my warranty 3 months for free. The support manager also mentioned they were speaking with a 3rd party tech that afternoon and would call me back to let me know if they would be able to get to us sooner. That was 3 days ago, no additional call back. I would suggest that if you are going to lay out this kind of cash on permanent lighting, make sure the company you choose to use has the support to service your system. Everlights does not and does not seem to really care if I am a satisfied customer, which I am not. The services we have used in the past for 3 different homes in 2 different cities always made sure our lights worked for the season. They needed the repeat business, a permanent lighting company such as Everlights apparently does not worry about next year. If they did, my lights would be working. Not recommended. read more
