They'll tell you any issues they see, and they also tell you your scalp type and what it needs most. They take you back in a room where you lay down and give you scalp and head massages, use variety of products, and really take the time to give you great service (hair extensions are more). When you're done, they take you to the dryer room and you get tea and cookies. Such a nice way to end the experience. The drying room has really great, high level accessories (Dyson) and my blow out looked wonderful. I don't live here but I'd highly recommend checking it out!

I've had massages at high-end resorts like the Waldorf Astoria and The Cosmopolitan, and this experience exceeded them. I chose the Thai/Swedish combo and opted for the back-walking technique (gentle), which was incredible. What stood out most was how attentive and skilled the therapist was. She didn't just follow a routine -- she assessed my body, identified tight areas contributing to my pain (especially my glute/back), and adjusted her approach in real time. She communicated throughout, starting with lighter pressure and increasing as my muscles loosened. The stretching and mobility work were unlike anything I've experienced, and by the end of the 60-minute session, my pain dropped to about a 2/10. You can tell when someone is just going through the motions -- that was NOT the case here. She genuinely cared about helping me feel better. I will absolutely be back.

So that's why when I reached out to Katy Massage Center, I asked them specifically about working on the feet for foot pain/aches. This was the response I got. While I understand that miscarriages and loss can happen due to unrelated reasons, the lack of TACT that this person (I assume its the owner? I'm not sure) had was appalling. There are a million other ways to say that massage may not cause a pregnancy loss or preterm labor. I was so offended. And then their "apology" was anything but genuine. It was more like a way of saying "I don't want to work with you, leave me alone".

I was actually seeing the alternative medicine doctor inside the same space, Dr. Taite, when I first met Dr. Julianne. She was very friendly, kind, and welcomed me with a great smile even though I wasn't even her client at the time! We had a great conversation about studying abroad, so I was impressed even though I wasn't seeing her that day. Fast forward to this week, I officially had my first session with her due to a recent car accident. I have to admit, I was a little nervous going in because I have seen my boyfriend's back being treated by a chiropractor before, and it just looks like...let me just say you have to know what you are doing if you need to realign someone's body like that. Dr. Julianne did a wonderful job. She helped me calm down, relax, and I didn't even feel it when she would readjust my back. I also really like and respect the fact that she told me we will have to go through this first session to see how my body is before we continue talking about the treatment plan. I am all for this approach just because like she said, all of our bodies are different.
