Love this Goodwill! It is big, so clean, organized, and full of great things. You can tell that they actually sort through their stuff and don't just take anything. Prices are out of control for shoes. No less than four pairs I checked on were priced at $30!! THRIFT STORE not consignment store!! They're also getting in weird housewares and shifting things around too much. Layout was much better previously. Tag days have gone up in price to $1.79 which is still a great bargain but it hardly balances out anymore. I prefer other places lately. Staff is hit and miss, some are wonderful and others unpleasant where customer service is concerned. read more

I would actually like to take this opportunity to say that Goodwill is an excellent resource to all walks of life. However, as I have on numerous occasions, found tems priced way to high, 78 for a chair, 30 for coat, 100 for a vacuum! Come on, its Goodwill not Neiman Marcus or an antique store. Every time I drop off donations or shop for something,(Bellingham, Wa. Gooodwill) I am always struck by the helpfulness and professionalism of the Goodwill employees. Yesterday it was raining and the employee had car after car after car dropping off boxes of donations. He was friendly, courteous, took my items out of my car and still had a smile for me when I shut the trunk. These employees are hardworking to say the least and deserve many kudos. As far as Goodwill goes, this is probably one of the best that I have ever been in. It was well-organized, and I appreciated how much stuff they had. The atmosphere was very cheery and active. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I managed to get some things that I needed for my Halloween costume. The prices were very reasonable, and I love their tag sales! i have been raised the right way, a thrift shopper! I always went to the local thrift shops as well as the biggies growing up in Spokane, finding all my toys and whatnot purely from thrift shops. At Xmas my family had a tradition of the "VV Santa" and just about 75% of our presents dawned the tag of VV Santa. Whenever my family would make the trip over the Cascades, me and my pops ditch out and go thrift shop hunting and come back at the end of the day with a trunk full of wonders. I owe a big part of my bombastic music collection to thrift shops. Now that I live over here most of my furnishings are thanks to VV or Goodwill as well as my shirts. Goodwill seems to consistently get stocked with great items. Check it out, you'll be mesmerized with the booty you gain. read more

I mostly drop off at this location, but I was in need of a power cord for my printer. The space has changed quite a bit since I was last in. The layout is easy to maneuver and the products were arranged neatly. While my cord wasn't to be found in the electronics section, did I find a pair of beautiful shoes for $7 and a nice cook book for under $5. The check out line was well-managed and moved quickly. I am a fan of thrift shopping! The Goodwill is an awesome place, i would say the VHS selection is my favorite part! I've pretty much furnished my whole apartment with random things from here!!! The goodwill has pretty good prices for people with a budget! or people that rater spend there dollar wise!! I use to work here a couple years or so ago, its a great place all around!!! While shopping at the Bellingham, WA store I was quite irritated when I left my shopping cart for less than 5 minutes and an employee took it and put the items I planned on purchasing back on the shelves. Unfortunately not where they initially were. I walked out empty handed, didn't find any of the items. At least they can ask nearby customers if the cart is theirs... like they do in other Goodwill stores. read more

This is the best Goodwill I have ever shopped at. The turnover in stock is constant. You seldom if ever find 'stale' items languishing week after week here. The store is clean, at least for a thrift shop, and the weird 'resale' smell is minimal. The electronics have been tested and you can trust that what you purchase will work. There are some real treasures to be found here! And you know what else? Beginning in the late afternoon, it gets a little cruisy up in there! Young, gay, male and new in town? You can meet someone who shares your love for vintage clothing here! The only con? This place is OVERPRICED. They're used goods, people, not holy relics. Sheesh. read more

This goodwill location is a decent spot to pickup stuff but the reason that I gave it only 3/5 stars is because the limited selection. This place does not have the storage capacity like other places to hold the stuff that I generally go shopping at thrift shops for . They offer a huge section of clothes that utake up about 90% of the building and that is about it if I wanted to go clothing shopping I would probably go to a consignment shop. read more

I've been to quite a few Goodwills and this one is by far the worst. I was lucky to find one cool item there in all the times I've been. The store stinks and products are way overpriced. I interviewed for a job there and was even hired. Then they forgot to call me and tell me when my first day was and I found out an hour into my first shift. There are some serious problems with management if they can't even inform a new hire of their first day before it starts. After that debacle they decided NOT to hire me. Guess I dodged a bullet, because I can't imagine working for such irresponsible management. Don't shop here. There are better places out there. read more

One of my favorite thrift stores! Great selection! Prices are a little high on some things, paying $7 for a crappy baseball cap isn't really my thing but there's plenty of good deals with a little bit of looking. Especially with the tag sales. The employees are always nice too. read more

I've been a Goodwill shopper for years, brought clients who are of marginalized economic status in to shop and have been deeply disappointed the last year as the prices have skyrocketed and the items are of lesser quality than in the past. It's gotten to the point where one can purchasenew items for close to the same price at Marshalls, Ross or TJ Maxx. I have lost all interested in supporting the store because of price hikes. =( read more

I used to be a big fan of this place, now I rarely go. They have raised there prices so much, I find better deals on new things at the mall. They price old, ratty, falling apartt Dooney and Burke purses at $60+. The fact that they sit there, unbought week does not seem to be a clear enough sign to them that they are overpriced. Worn, pilled St Johns Bay Sweaters are considered "designer" and priced at $10-15, even though the same itens are clearanced at JCP for $4.99. They no longer have $1.29 Mondays. Management is pretty unfriendly. I'd give it zero stars, but that isn't an option. read more

Always good variety. The prices have definitely gone up. It's true...they're pricing the furniture at normal, say, Target, K-mart, Fred Meyer Prices. Ridiculous. I bought an item last year and the sales lady brought me another one she found. They were different prices?? I asked her why and she said "oh, we just have different "pricers" back there. Generally this is a great Goodwill store, but my most recent visit/interaction left a little something to be desired I the way of customer service. I had bought a DVD player on 9.20.19 and tried it out only to find the play button didn't work (no remote as you might imagine). I returned the DVD player the next day, and when I got home no more than half an hour later I realized I had left a DVD in the player. I called immediately and spoke to Jacob, informed him of the situation, gave the brand and model number, and asked if they could pop the DVD out and hold it for me until the next day as I had previous obligations for the rest of the night. The response was "well *if* we find it we'll try to hold onto it for you", meaning "we're going to put zero effort into looking for it." Next day comes, I swing in and end up talking to a manager about it. After looking in a couple places and checking in the back, it was determined that the DVD player had shipped to a different store. We set up a request to find it if possible, but that's unlikely to happen. In talking with that manager, Jacob should have immediately talked to the manager when he got my phone call to straighten the situation out. Now I can maybe understand that maybe he was a new employee and didn't know that protocol (maybe...), but regardless of if you know the protocol, good customer service dictates that when you get a phone call like that, you stop what you're doing and you look for that item. It had only been half an hour at most. That DVD player was in the store when I called, and nobody looked for it. As someone who has worked retail/customer service jobs several times, I was very disappointed in the customer service I was given on something so simple as "go check the returns for a DVD player of this make and model, pop the DVD out, and hold it for 12 hours." For the record though, the manager (I never caught his name) was very understanding and to the best of my knowledge did the best he could to try to find the DVD player. read more

I was at the Goodwill Bellingham store on 3/1/18. I found 2 salad bowles taped together with 2 small plate's. I did not need the small plate's so I asked an associate if they could be split. He was a kind, soft spoken young man and very courteous. He stated i could take them to the collectible's counter and have a manager called to talk to me. I spoke with Terry about this and she stated they never split things apart. I asked if a manager could be called to talk to me and again she stated that they do not split things apart and I could just buy everything and donate back the plates. I threw up my hands and left. I did not appreciate her condescending tone of voice and her refusal to call someone to talk to me. It was not the cost of the pieces, it was her attitude. I live nearby and have donated so much to Goodwill in the past few years but will stop doing so at this time. I have rarely been treated like this but her attitude was so off putting I will never deal with her again. I had just come from Value Village and ALL the associates i dealt with were kind and very friendly. My items will be donated to them or elsewhere. read more

This is where I get most of my items in Bellingham. Large store, good lighting, reasonably clean.

Problem with this store is they have the same homely woman that gets first pick on every item that comes onto the floor. She's the picker who hovers at back of the store near the double doors waiting for new merchandise to be put out and she races everyone to the new items and is the first to pick through them. Then she calls her helper to come pick up items so she doesn't have to leave the store or the back doors. This goes on 6 days a week all day and management does nothing. It's a joke. Everyone else gets the leftovers. read more

I used to love the place, but lately I think they they are trying to compete against retail stores like Macy's and Bestbuy. I was at Goodwill yesterday and saw a of course, a donated dining set for a whopping $1200.00 and a used/donated Electronic piano for $399.00. I don't think they are a a thrift anymore, I think they forgot why people go their store..... to SAVE MONEY. They are also misleading customers that a certain color price tags will go half price on a certain week, but there are times that they changed the color of the price tag of some items before it becomes half price to avoid it being bought half price (clever idea), specially the items that they priced so high. Don't be mislead by the name thrift store........it's not a thirft store anymore. read more

So i normally make donations to the local Goodwill in Oregon where im from, but the customer service here just sucks and turned me off, iam in the process of moving into a new place here in bellingham and ended up tossing the cardboard boxes i did have, a friend told me that goodwill offers free boxes for moving so i decided since i need to do a little bit of house cleaning i could get some boxes and later return with the donations. I went into the front side of the store and the girl at the customer service seemed really energetic and told me "head straight to the back they will give you free ones", i waited in the line and when it finally came to me getting helped the lady who was working told me she "didnt have time to run inside and get boxes that i needed to get out of the way of her work area and leave." Iam totally confused as to how the front of the store can offer good customer service but the donations side doesnt. It sucks to say but this experience has turned me away from using this donation site, that kind of customer service gave me the impression that my valuables are only worth some ones paycheck. read more
