I fell in love with this shop the minute I walked in the door. What an amazing large selection of quality women's clothes and accessories. This new location is vibrant and inviting. I really appreciated how well organized and how easy it is to find what you are looking for. I love to browse until something strikes my fancy. This is a fun shop to do just that. I am making this my new shop for all my consigning and shopping. Prices are fair and reasonable. Staff was very efficient and friendly and very personable. been going to a few consignment shops for several years. Recently I found out about this place but then realized I'd been before but at the previous location, King st I think. it was in a little house and the owner was named Diane. I was so sad to hear she had passed away, she was terrific!! I never met the new owner and didn't know the shop was still operating but at new location with same name! Last summer I decided to check out the new location. I just got out of my car and saw 2 ladies exiting, each with a bag of clothing. I commented that there must be a lot of good stuff inside and one lady just said don't waste your time! Amy has gotten so picky and rejects more items than she accepts!! I first discovered the Clothes Rack on Instagram where they posted staff members modeling some of their newest clothing brought into consignment. I purchased a designer piece online and when I came in to pick it up, I asked myself, " why hadn't I discovered this place earlier?" They had a wonderful selection of women's clothing and I was able to find designer clothes at a small fraction of the cost. Although I only came in to pick up my online buy, I ended up adding a Free people sweatshirt, Eileen Fisher knit tank, and even a new pair of Croc sandals to my purchases. The staff was really friendly, helping me find accessories to go with my purchases. The store is well laid out and I liked being able to find my size at each rack easily. read more

False accusations of shoplifting. I walked in here and was immediately told to leave. When I asked why the owner refused to tell me and eventually said she didn't feel comfortable with me in the store. The second I pull out my phone she ran over to call the cops and told them that I was shoplifting. I never stolen anything here before in my life. read more

This review is directed towards especially to prospective CONSIGNORS. Several years ago, I discovered the Clothes Rack and sold a lot of high end clothes and shoes with them. I also became a regular customer. The owner was friendly, although the store seemed to attract a lot of "hangers-on", i.e. women who regularly hung out near the cash register and discussed/complained about their life situations. Not very professional or pleasant to listen to! My trouble began when a handbag I purchased there absolutely fell apart right after I bought it. I complained to the owner, and suggested she give me a credit, or re-consign the bag, but she refused. Then, soon after I consigned a selection of items, including some jewelry and expensive unopened French perfume. When I stopped in several days later to see if she had decided to consign them, or let me pick them up, she informed me that they had been left out with the donations for pick-up! My loss! I complained and asked for an apology, some restitution or even a partial store credit as I was such a regular customer. She absolutely refused and said she was under no liability to give me anything. The last straw was when I asked where a pair of Emu sheepskin boots were that I had consigned; I saw they were no longer on the shelf, but I had not received my portion of the sale. She said that they had not sold, even though they were no where in the store. I went in several times after that, scouring the store (it is not that large) to find the boots and solve the mystery! When I finally confronted her, and asked for my money, she told me that they had probably been stolen, and it was my bad luck! She was under no liability to recompense me for my loss. I finally complained in an email to her, explaining the situation and she informed me that she had found the boots out in plain sight (?!??!) and sent them to be donated!! This was too much bad customer service and lack of accountability for me, and the next time I visited the store, the clerk told me that the owner had said I was no longer welcome in the shop! I have never, never been treated with such disdain by a shop of any kind, and my girlfriends have all encouraged me to give her the Yelp she deserves! Steer clear! read more

If you have any desire to be treated with even the slightest bit of respect, please do not go here. I went to consign five pairs of shoes and asked to be called about the pricing before my items were put on the floor. I even took a photo of every item I left because I had a bad feeling from the start. After a full business day and no call, I went back to make sure the owner didn't donate my items like she did to the other yelper. When I arrived, four pairs were already on the sales floor at prices I wasn't comfortable with. The biggest problem is she lost one of my items before they ever even made it to the sales floor. It has been ten days and I have gone into the store multiple times to seek resolution but she still has not owned up to an understandable mistake. I understand that items get lost. What I do not understand is the dishonesty of asking for my name and number just to keep sending me away and hope I never return. Enough with the excuses. To top it all off, she said the pair of purple Croft and Barrow flats I also brought in were the tan Vera Wang flats that I've been looking for. If the color, the brand and the quantity of items weren't enough of a difference, the photo I took beforehand and her own security cameras can clearly prove a distinction. From my personal experience, I've learned the owner has two reliable associates but she herself lacks respect for community members who choose to support her business over more popular consignments stores. I made a huge mistake by not trusting the previous Yelp review. Very untrustworthy business practices. read more

I was so pleased to be introduced to this consignment store! It's rather unassuming from the outside, so I was honestly surprised at the quality and variety of clothing. I've now bought and sold a lot of clothes there. I really like how they organize their clothes by both size and color. The (new?) owners are lovely. I Had not been in awhile, I had been kind of turned off by the owner so was pleasantly surprise to see it was under new ownership and she is a delight! I enjoy shopping in this charming little cottage. It is just full of wonderful clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses and some house décor. The owner is very selective on condition of clothes so you know you are buying good stuff. the prices are very good and sizes go up to 4x/5x. I, myself am plus size ,love the large selection. I love this store. For several years now, I have been consigning my clothes and getting my fees in cash/check or using the funds to purchase "new" clothes,. The new owner (took over 2 years ago) is great and always calls me by name when I enter the store! I never worry about dropping clothes off there. They are properly displayed and sold. The Clothes Rack is my favorite consignment store. I just read Julie's review and can't imagine the owner acting as she said she did. I've been consigning there and shopping there since the store opened. I agree that the store is small....but has that cozy at home feeling. I've been there when Cindy has had to tell customers when she couldn't accept some items and she did so with the utmost respect. I consigned a leather coat there and it never sold. It had been stolen. I didn't expect Cindy to pay me for it. It is right in the contract that the store is not resposible and she can't possibly store items when they are not picked up on time..as stated it is a small store. I have told many ladies about this store and they also love it. The owner Cindy is very friendly and helpfull. She is also very honest.....to the question asked " Do I look good in this?" her reply has often been "No I don't like that on you" If you haven't shopped there or consigned there please give it a try. Don't let one persons opinion scare you away. There are always two sides to a story. read more
