It was fine but kinda bland. And it was dry. Needed some mustard in the worst way. The drinks were fine but the best thing about this place were the two gals who wanted to be at the Penguins game but were stuck watching it on TV. They got more and more worked up and more and more creative as they cursed every fan that won an autographed jersey. They were wishing calamity and destruction on the players, on the fans, even the city that the fans came from. By the end they would have beat up a boy scout or knocked over an old lady just to get one of those things. It was awesome. Thanks ladies. You saved the night.

I got a chicken fry and cheese. The fries was under cooked. They was still white and not very much brown in color like they was cooked properly. I could still taste a raw potato taste in them. I said something to the bartender and she offered if I wanted a new one. I said no because I wasn't gonna chance something being done to the food or another under cooked fry. I ate less then half of the large fry. I expected to pay at least half of the food price because I was unsatisfied with my meal. I was charged full price on my meal. That is poor service in my eyes and I have worked as a chef for over 10 years. That would not fly at any place I worked. I will not recommend this place to eat to anyone and I will not return and give them my hard earned money for a half assed cooked meal

There is also a big patio area which is wonderful for a warm spring day, or a cozy summer night. The menu contains unique items amongst its standard fare. We went with the "Polish bowl", the " Italian bowl" and the cheesesteak. The Polish bowl contained pirogies that would rival any church lent takeaway. Accompanying them was kielbasa, sauerkraut, bacon, with side of sour cream and butter. Large portions, delicious taste. The Italian bowl consisted of four enormous meatballs. The flavor reminded me of my mom's who was taught by her neighbor who was from Italy. So very delectable. I took two of the four home and made two meatball subs from them- again, so enormous. The Grumpy Beaver does not skimp on quantity, but maintains a very high level of quality. The cheesesteak equaled two you would receive from anywhere else. The inclusion of sirloin, Swiss cheese accompaniment, and the local Mancini bakery bread ( long roll) will stand against anything you get from Philly. This was scrumptious. For dessert we chose a Dubai torte, and a banana peanut butter pie. Both did not let us down, with the heavenly flavor exploding in each bite. Our waitress Gabby was sweet and very accommodating. We will be back, and you should try it!

The owner has a 90's vibe going with posters on the wall and other decorations. Which is positive to me knowing the 90's was my time of growing from a teenager and ending with an engagement. This place had different places to sit from couches to tables and chairs. They had different beers on taps. Wife had a sangria and I had two different hazy IPA's which I liked them both. Jason sat down with us and chatted about the brewery. Told us they been here for 11 years. Told us everything the owner was doing. Positive changes. Provided us with a map of local brewery passports in the area and in Ohio. Provided some recommendations to different breweries and likewise from our end. Since this was the 80th microbrewery that we've visited in the Pittsburgh region. We almost have them all visited. Goals for 2023. This place is a good stop. They have fooleries next door and nearby to visit. We will come back while in the area. Jason was great..

I definitely need to give kudos to the brewery for making something out of the ordinary which I feel like it's a rut that I feel I fall into by trying the same and mainstream beer styles time and time again.

Attention small business owners: if you want to know how to handle a customer complaint, check with…read moreJimmy. We won't include the details here, and we don't even have resolution yet, but we're so impressed with the conversation we just had that we wanted to share it. In general terms, our daughter was picking up food with her friends last night for their online order; there was an issue; she told us about it today; and my fired-up husband decided to call. Jimmy, the owner, came on the line immediately and did every single thing you'd hope a manger would do: listened, acknowledged, and apologized. So often, managers think that by apologizing, they're admitting to something awful, weakening their case, opening themselves up to litigation, or failing to support their employees. None of that is true. The respect that Jimmy showed us was accompanied by respect for the employee in question. He wanted to know more, as he said, "not because I want proof, but because I want to understand what happened and how we can avoid having it happen again." We haven't eaten here ourselves yet, and probably never would have if it weren't for that apology. For now, all the great things we've heard about Jimmy K's were reinforced by their drive to convert a complaint into a training opportunity. It's impossible to overstate how impressed we are that an owner would take the time on a busy Saturday night to make this discussion a priority. Again, small business owners should take note of how the investment of four minutes on the phone can turn one Yelp star into five.
