The establishment is very small, so it makes sense that it takes a while to get a table. But, it took about 20 minutes for someone to even come take our order, and even then they only came because we flagged them down. Then, a ton of to-go orders were taking priority over the people inside. It took about 2 hours to get our food after we were seated. No shade I get they're doing their best. The only thing that really made our party angry was the fact that it seemed like they were churning out to go orders and not serving the people in the restaurant in a timely manner.

Boyne Mountain always has something fun going on throughout the year, making this a great place to stop after a full day on the slopes or a round of golf. It has that cozy, laid-back mountain atmosphere that makes you want to settle in, relax, and enjoy a good meal. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart! We had two little ones with us, and she was incredibly helpful and accommodating with both of them. One of the kitchen burners was down during our visit, which meant our food took a little longer than expected, but she kept us updated the entire time. We really appreciated her communication and how attentive she was despite the circumstances! For starters, we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for the table, and it was delicious! It came with fresh bread that was perfect for scooping up all that creamy, cheesy goodness. The chicken tenders were another win -- perfectly crispy on the outside while staying nice and tender on the inside, without being dried out. But the star of the show had to be the Reuben. Holy smokes, this sandwich was GOOD! Everything came together beautifully, but that dressing really took it over the top. And, of course, we couldn't go wrong with a side of onion rings to round out the meal. Prices are definitely a little on the higher end, but when the food is this good and the service is this welcoming, it makes the experience worthwhile. Whether you're visiting Boyne Mountain in the winter or enjoying everything the resort has to offer during the warmer months, 40 Acres is a great spot to grab a bite. We'd happily come back!

This is all happening during dinner on the patio, wait staff and management did nothing. Everyone in the dining area seemed appalled. Terrible dinner. I ordered the halibut which came with risotto. So light and flaky. My husband loved the pork tomahawk. The snapper was a hit too. We enjoyed a bottle of Riesling with our dinner. Love that it was a local Michigan wine! For dessert, we ordered the Dubai cheesecake. It was a little sweet for our liking, but the dessert options were so great. Lots to select from!
