All you can eat prime rib

Amazing restaurant! We were on a road trip and came across this place while looking for dinner options. I didn't read any reviews before we went; we just went. I'm happy we did. Luckily it was Friday night and they had an all you can eat Prime Rib special with potatoes, corn, plus more! The food was very, very good, my husband liked the burger, my kids loved their food. I only wish I could have eaten more... The waiter was very nice and welcoming and kept making sure we had everything we wanted too. I would love to come back with more friends a d family. The meals did add up, but considering the quality of the food and scale of the restaurant l, it was worth it.

    Crab Cakes Appetizer

Stopped in to use some of the dining credits that we had as part of a bluegreen vacation sales pitch that we had to sit through. Figured stop in here and use it. Got lunch and I got crab cakes appetizer and club wrap. Overall it was decent, food came out on time, server was attentive, and food was good. My only issue is the price, the value for what you are paying. Not a great value at all, over priced in my opinion.

The bar and dining area are separate. There is a stone fireplace in a beautiful decor. They have a quality selection of cordials, whiskey, and other liquors. They offer draft beers and mixed drinks. The menu offers daily specials buffet choices, and regular menu selection.

Oh my goodness, we had the all-you-can eat prime rib dinner tonight. The entire meal was amazing and so was the service!

This place seems ok and the location is convenient, but it is way too pricey and it is entirely too busy for the amount of staff they have. I ordered food to go and ordered two sides. The vegetable medley side is zucchini and carrots, so I ordered Brussel chips. When I got the bill, I was charged $11 for Brussels, which were marked at $7 for the side. I at first said wait this bill is wrong, but then saw $11 on the appetizer list so I thought maybe I just thought it was $7 because the vegetable medley was. I was right, the side was smaller and $7. Turns out, I was charged for a larger size and sauce, $4 more. Please see picture of size in proportion to the silverware. I can't imagine what the side portion was if this is the larger one. The sauce is basically mayo or tartar sauce with pieces of shredded cheese out of a bag. I mentioned the mixup with size before my food came, but the staff was too busy to really address it, although a sweet girl working there tried. I told them to not worry if it was going to be too much trouble and because I could see they were slammed, but did tell her I didn't mean the $11 portion and likely couldn't eat the sauce anyway because I'm pregnant. The food finally came and the kitchen wasn't able to change the order from what they told me. I will say the brussel chips are tasty, very oily though- but tasty and sometimes Brussels can go very wrong so I'm happy about that. The sauce is a no go, not only taste wise, but because I'm almost positive it's mostly mayonnaise. The soup of the day was a corn chowder of sorts, which is ok and a small bowl, more what I was expecting size wise for the price but without much in it ( it's mashed up corn in a cream base, kind of sweet) All around I'm highly unimpressed by the food, by the restaurant, by the experience. I do appreciate the girl who tried to see what she could do and the good tasting Brussels, so it wasn't a total wash, but I probably will be getting food other places moving forward.

Two words: brunch buffet. The best part? It's there every single day. It consists of: omelet station, waffles, pancakes, bagels, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, hash browns, scrambled eggs, toast, and juices. The place itself is cute and Scandinavian decorated. The furniture is made by the hotel employees and is beautifully carved. The service is incredible kind and attentive, especially the talkative hostess. Dinner here is great as well and each night of the week has a different theme. For example, Saturday night is stir-fry night and the lady they bring in for it is this adorable Korean lady who hand makes all the sauces on her own. Made with love. Another recommendation? The salmon- so fresh. I'm rating it four stars because it is pretty standard food, however delicious nonetheless. Eat here if you're staying at the hotel.

Great food and even better people! It was our first time in Boyne and it definitely won't be our last. Can't wait to go back.

High prices for below average food. Takes forever to get what you ordered and just overall the vibes were off.

After numerous friends telling me " You have to eat at Walloon Inn you would love it, the food is…read moregreat and of course the view across the lake is spectacular ". Well I couldn't get a reservation in the fall so my girlfriend and I tried again while taking a ski trip to Boyne Mountain . Yes, The location and ambiance is fabulous . We were graciously greeted and sat at table # 1 right by the windows looking out to the frozen lake truly a great table. Our waitress Janice a local greeted us and was very nice. Janice did a great job going through the menu which I will added the prices were very fare . The wine and cocktail list were also impressive with a wide offering in price and choice. We decided on a Malbec to start. Then they brought out a the welcoming taste of salmon pate on a cucumber which we both found to be very tasty . After reviewing the menu we chose to bypass an appetizer for fear of just getting too much food and not finishing our dinner . After I told my girlfriend how good whitefish is in Michigan we both ordered that instead of the salmon or short ribs that also looked enticing. . Before our entree was served we had the warm bread and garlic butter that was terrific and tempting to eat the whole basket . Our dinners were served very quickly even though the restaurant was sold out . As we took the first bites of the white fish I was extremely disappointed . The breading had absolutely zero seasoning or flavor . The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly but the breading was completely flavorless taking away from the fish. Neither of us finished the dish and my girlfriend tried adding salt just to get some flavor but it didn't make it any better . I was going to order dessert but we were so disappointed after our dinner we chose to bypass dessert . . I did order a coffee since they didn't have cappuccino. I will say the coffee was very good , but what good restaurant doesn't have a cappuccino machine . As a side note the bathroom very nicely decorated in old wine box shingles on the wall and was very clean . I gave 3 stars simply because the Walloon Inn has been around so long and highly acclaimed as one of the better restaurants in the area. This was very disappointing . I may come back with my business partner and hope my experience will be better . Until next time .

Visited again last night. Had the prix fixe dinner, two Caesar salads, the whitefish dinner and…read morethe salmon dinner. A nice wine to complement the dinner. Always worth the visit when in the area, servings were plentiful, dessert was a carryout as we couldn't touch another bite of food.
