First I couldn't get through to anyone when I called. The receptionist or person who answered sent me to quotes dept like 5 times and no one would answer. They blamed it on "high volume" of customers or whatever. But how do you not have a process to respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner? I can't wait 2 weeks to get a damn quote. I'll just go somewhere else. The person in quotes dept Sheryl was rude and had terrible customer service. She made up excuses about why they couldn't get back to me in time. I filled out their form online explaining what I wanted in my policy and a little of my situation. First I got this rude email (I think she wrote it) telling me they didn't want to talk to me and couldn't write me a policy. The email was short with very little explanation why. Then when I called AGAIN for the 6th time to finally get SOMEONE to talk to me, Sheryl rudely just refused to talk or listen to me, kept repeating over and over how they couldn't write me a policy and basically told me to go away. No solutions, no help, no suggestions on how to fix my situation. Look if you can't write me a policy, fine. I get it. But don't leave a customer twisting in the wind. At least take the time to answer my questions and give me suggestions on where I CAN get help. It's basic decency and politeness. Be warned everyone! Customer service at this place has gone very downhill recently. You're better off going elsewhere!

I knew I was getting a good rate and thought that in the best-case scenario I'll save like $20 a year on my car insurance and I will end up being insured by some small unknown company. It was time to renew my AAA for another year and I decided to give Slavsky a chance. I spent some time on the phone with them -- about 20 minutes total, I'd say. I ended up saving like $170 per year or so and the new insurance company is Mercury -- which is totally cool in my book -- I know Mercury and I trust them as much as I trust AAA. Spend 20 minutes on the phone and another 20 minutes on getting/signing all the needed paperwork to save $170? I'd do it everyday, if I could.

I am an apartment building owner. It is now almost impossible to get liability insurance for…read moreapartment buildings in California in today's environment. All the carriers are leaving the state. After my insurance agent of many years procrastinated and then failed to find me an affordable policy, I was within days of having no insurance at all. Worried, I called BPIA and spoke to Mark Woods. He was FAR more knowledgeable of the CA apartment insurance landscape, and knew exactly what to do and where to find high quality insurance. He explained to me patiently, and in detail the situation, and where we would find a provider. Finally, at the last minute, my old agent did find a policy. It was from out of state, without CA protections, and 2x the price of my old policy, with less coverage. Mark advised me that it was an inferior product and promised he would find a CA carrier with higher $$$ limits and a lower price. He made me his top priority, and searched tirelessly, and in the RIGHT places, communicating frequently along the way, as he knew I was worried. He found a CA carrier with 50% higher limits, better terms, and $2000 cheaper. Now we had to process a bunch of paperwork and answer detailed questions about circuit breakers brands, furnaces, and construction, as required by the carrier. We worked great as a team. The day my old policy expired, Mark worked with me until 11:55 PM to get all the paperwork done and submitted so that coverage would be in effect that same day. At 10:30 PM, when I said, "Mark, please take the rest of the night off and go to bed.", he said, "No. I don't want to see you go without coverage another day." He got the paperwork submitted a few minutes before midnight, showing an effective date that same day. I have to admit I have never gotten an adrenalin rush out of insurance before! Mark Woods at BPIA was the most professional, caring, hard working, dedicated insurance agent I have ever experienced. He took my need for insurance as a personal priority. I highly recommend him and BPIA without reservation.

However, BPIA was able to place the coverage in a matter of days and at a very reasonable price. I was helped by Amy Aderman at BPIA. Today I needed to increase the coverage to meet the requirements of the lender on the condo (am refinancing) in order to close escrow. Esther Lee at BPIA as able to have the carrier increase the coverage and provide proof of the increased coverage in less than an hour. After my wife was side-swiped by another vehicle, I got to experience their level of customer service when it came to processing claims. I found the process all together confusing and inefficient. I was more impressed with the how well the driver's auto insurance handled the situation. Fortunately he accepted fault for the accident, and his insurance company managed the repair process. I was impressed enough with the other driver's insurance company, that I decided to get a quote from them. This was after AllState had raised our 6 month premium, and the customer service rep could not explain why. When I received a quote from the other insurance provider, I was absolutely shocked to confirm that I would be saving over $1,000 in my yearly premium! I thought there was a mistake with the quote, but everything was accurate after a second check. I immediately requested a cancellation of my auto and homeowner's insurance policy after quite a few back and forth emails where Michael attempted to retain my business. As I saw it, I was getting ripped off by AllState, and I had no interest in their services. I made it very clear that I no longer had an interest in working with AllState at that time or the future. I made my position pretty clear to Michael during our last email conversation. Not to my surprise, I received an email communication from him a month and half later attempting to sell me life insurance! I found the email a bit annoying and presumptuous considering the obvious tone of our last dialogue. All and all, I would categorize him as a shameless insurance salesman, and the company he represents is 3rd rate as best.
