My front bumper was damaged when a truck scraped my car. I brought it into Fix Auto due the great reviews. I was not disappointed. The customer service was wonderful. I picked up my vehicle and it was spotless inside and out. Highly recommend this place. read more

I have had two great experiences with this place. The first time, everyone I met was friendly and really good at going over all the details. The work was good and they scheduled me as soon as possible (last minute during the holiday season). I didn't write a review after the 1st job, but that experience led me to my appointment today. I went to get a quote for minor damage. The guy at the front desk (also very nice) went to take a look and just popped everything back into place. I made fun of myself for not trying that first and went about my day. I really appreciate their honesty and they didn't charge me for the unnecessary appointment. read more

Unfortunately, I got side swiped and brought my car in as this specific shop was recommended by my insurance. They were prompt in taking my car in and kept me in the loop all throughout the repairs. After a couple days, the right side of my car looked brand new! I am super impressed with this auto body shop and would recommend them thousand times over. read more

I cannot recommend Fix Auto enough. Even though you have to crash to end up there, Marga will explain things clearly, and help with the overwhelming insurance process. I was in a rental and on my way in less than an hour. My car was done early, which was a nice surprise. Upon pick up, each and every detail was explained. I hope to never need them again, but if you do, go to FixAuto! read more

Great experience at Fix Auto. They were super friendly and finished the car before the estimated time. My car looked amazing afterwards. Thank you! read more

I backed into something like an idiot and needed to fix the rear damage to my Toyota. I came across Fix Auto and chose them for the repair. They did splendid work. My car looks like new. Marga and Warren took the time to explain everything and give me all the options. I really appreciate that. Price was fair for this perfect work. Turnaround was as promised. Thanks again Fix Auto! read more

My experience with Fix Auto was not as good as I expected, given their high star rating in Yelp. They had my car for an entire week, stating that it would be done for sure by end of day Friday. Well here I am at 6:30pm waiting on Friday evening, and I get a text saying it will now be 7:30pm. Great, now my Friday night is taken up waiting on these guys. I expected better. read more

Update: This team is consistently amazing! Unfortunately my car was hit again (twice in as many years) but the upside is at least I knew exactly who I wanted to take it to. Working with Fix auto in San Mateo was even better this time. I had a work trip scheduled so I asked if I could drop off the car Sunday night and pick it up when I got back so I wouldn't have to deal with a rental. Not only did they work with me to make this happen, they stayed on top of the insurance carrier and dealership (needed re-calibration) to make sure they had it ready for me when I got back. Smooth as butter, and the car looks better than when I bought it. Seriously, it's a shame that you need auto damage in order to work with these guys, but if you do find youself in that situation, this specific fix auto shop should absolutely be your first choice. read more

Jake at Fix Auto San Mateo is a gem. This review has two parts: 1) Someone sideswiped my car in a mall parking lot while I was inside and did significant damage to the front and side of the car. We chose Fix Auto from the limited list of collision specialists our insurance had approved, so we had low expectations. I called the shop, and Jake was sincere about how long it would take to get an assessment appointment and a repair appointment. When we brought the car in, Jake was friendly and detail oriented. Throughout the process, Jake, Marga (the owner), and another gentleman whose name I can't recall were patient with me. After they finished the repair, they even spent 20 minutes with me going over the list of repairs and replacement parts. They were gracious when I noticed two small errors during that review process, including one scrape they had failed to repair. They even sent out a special repair company to my home a few days later. 2. One week later, I damaged my car in the exact same spot that Fix Auto had just repaired. I called Fix Auto, and Jake suggested I come in that same day. I went in the following day, and he repaired the problem himself right away in about 10 minutes! He didn't charge me a cent. At the time, funds were tight for my family, and his generosity and kindness still bring tears to my eyes. From now on, we'll be loyal Fix Auto San Mateo customers! read more

My car got hit in a parking lot and this location was a preferred body shop by the insurance company. I decided to come here after seeing the positive reviews. Jake helped with the logistics and kept me in the loop via text messages. They also make it easy when renting from Enterprise as you can just leave the rental with them when picking up your car. Timeline for repair was as quoted. Car looked brand new afterwards. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

Had a dented hood and a damaged rear end (bumper, hood, broken taillight) from a runaway cart in the Home Depot parking lot. Fix was friendly, kept me up to date about the schedule, and got it back looking great. Its been more than a month now and the paint job looks top notch as were the repairs. read more

I could not ask for a better service! Friendly, informed and professional from beginning to end! I was kept in the loop almost every other day as to the progress being made and was given a blow by blow description of the work done at the end. Oh, I forgot to mention, they gave me a complimentary wash inside and out!! Who does that, right? read more

I would like to thank Fix Auti who repaired my car, especially Marga, for being very caring and problem solver.

My Honda was involved in an accident and my insurance recommended me to Auto Fix. I couldn't be more satisfied with their customer service, communication, and professionalism. My vehicle was very close to a total loss and I'm thankful for Marga, Jake, & her team for taking on this big job. My vehicle was done a lot quicker than I had anticipated and looks even better then when I bought it. I will be recommending Auto Fix to all of my friends and family. Thank you for giving me a true five star experience. read more

I went to get an estimate on my vehicle. The person who help me was nice, however when I told him I will be paying out of pocket and not to deal with my insurance. He ask this lady, I think it's he's wife. She's probably the manager. When I told her that I won't be dealing with insurance. She just abruptly gave me an attitude! She's very rude and snobby. I will not recommend this place. Fix your attitude first! read more

Our vehicle was severely T-boned by another vehicle and had serious damages. Fix Auto successfully repaired our vehicle to pre-accident condition. Vehicle looks brand new. Additionally, Marga, Warren and her team proactively kept us informed throughout the repair process and went above and beyond to help us deal with the other party insurance. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and answered any questions and concerns we had. Highly recommend them for auto body repairs! read more

5 stars because that's all they allow. Jake and the owners provided outstanding customer service. I could not be happier with the work they did. knowledgeable and honest. I had my car recently repaired by the team over at FIx Auto and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. Jake and Marga explained the process, worked with my insurance directly and coordinated with my rental car company. Jake was knowledgeable and caught items that needed repairs which another shop didn't. There was a true directive to help and to deliver a top notch experience. Jake communicated with me my via email quickly and the shop handled my repairs in a few days. The car came back like new and they did a wonderful job everywhere. Top notch, fast service, keeps you in the loop, honest, dependable and most of all great work. Highly recommend this shop and will continue to share with family and friends. read more

Horrible Service, just told by my insurance (AAA) that they are refusing to service us because they are asking our insurance for money for taking pictures of my Car for 5 minutes, (the AAA General manager had never heard of any automotive place doing this in his 20 yrs doing this), They have done zero work on my car and don't even have my car in the shop, simply stopped by and was hoping to get an estimate and was just told it was a total loss on the spot. Now we have to go somewhere else despite this place being recommended to us by so many people, truly disappointed. read more

I went in to get an estimate for my tesla and she informed me that they weren't working on teslas at that time. The reason I'm writing the review is because Marga proceeded to give me information on where I could get estimates both with sister companies as well as their competitors. We then had a conversation for 10 minutes about what to expect and how to tell a quality job from one that cuts corners. Marga went way beyond my expectations. She could have simply said sorry and pointed me to one of the other Fix auto locations and that would have been just fine. The fact that she took time to get out of her seat and walk me to my car to take a look and arm me with knowledge makes me want to leave a review and do business with Fix auto in the future. read more

My new car was rear ended and when I brought it in here Warren was so helpful! Even with the parts being a bit slow to arrive, Warren and his team got things done and I couldn't be happier. Prius Owners! A solution for swiped Cats. I'd gotten a couple of posts on Nextdoor about car vandals who swiped the catalytic converters from Priuses. Then it happened to me! I'd been parking my Prius across the street from my house on upper Harbor Blvd. in Belmont. Last Tuesday I started my Prius, and as soon I put the car in motion, the engine emitted a very loud, throaty roar! I backed it up and parked it, not knowing if I'd damaged something. Then I looked on the ground in front of my car and saw the telltale sign of cat swiping: a bolt with a spring on it. I called around and found out that replacing the cat costs around $3K! So I put a claim thru my insurance company. I'm paying the $250 deductible (comprehensive coverage) for the repair, plus only $75* to install the Cat Security Shield that I purchased and had delivered to the repair shop. In my research, I found that several local muffler & repair shop owners had designed their own protective cages or shields to prevent cats from being swiped for their precious metals. (Toyota apparently puts a large amount of palladium, rhodium and platinum in their Prius catalytic converters.) But they were asking around $300 for their protective devices. The repair shop I chose for my repair, Fix Auto in San Mateo, referred me to Cat Security. A muffler shop owner in Roseville designed the Cat Security Shield. The demand for it has grown so great that he closed his shop and is just making and selling the Cat Security Shield now. He makes them for 2000-2020 model Priuses. It's normally a $200 item, but he's running a sale until the end of November for $160. So, I paid $174 including tax and had it sent (w/free shipping) to Fix Auto San Mateo. They got the parts & did the job quickly: I took my car in on Wednesday afternoon and it was done on Saturday. (Yes, it's safe to drive your roaring hot rod Prius a few miles to a repair shop; you don't have to get it towed.) Prius owners, take heed! Swiping cats is very profitable, takes only a couple of minutes, and is quite common now. But with a shield on it, thieves will avoid your car, as it takes around 30 minutes extra to drill thru the rivets that hold the shield in place. If you ever leave your Prius on the street overnight, take my recommendation: Go to GetCatSecurity.com, buy your Cat Security Shield, and get it installed! *Fix Auto gave me a low $75 rate to install the Cat Security Shield because I was having repairs done with it. read more

I want to let you guys know what experience that I had at this place I got into an accident on April 1 of this year never knew of this place I received the best service Jake Montinola gave me a estimate then I brought it in he was so much explaining everything to me. I did go through my insurance though, but I got a Rent-A-Car easy and my car was done in 3 days. they washed my car and cleaned. It's so good I am very happy to know this place. Thank you to all the wonderful employees read more

Got into an accident about 3 weeks ago going home from work and damaged my BMW's front passenger's side (headlights smashed, bumper damaged (why do cars have METAL bumpers anyways? I guess there are no real 'bumpers' these days!), and my front hood was bent and half-popped off!) Given the angle of my accident to my car, there were a lot of parts needed to get repaired. I am very particular on any work done on my car since I took care of it (1st owner) and ALL maintenance (even oil change) was at the BMW maintenance facility. When I learned the BMW facility does not work on collision repair, I had to do a *lot* of research on which facility I wanted to trust my car to. I made some calls and finally decided on trying Fix Auto San Mateo and I was able to talk to Marga, she was very friendly and was able to accommodate me and helped me through the process. I was hesitant to even drive my car to her shop and she offered a tow service and coordinated with me on my crazy office work schedule! Her team was very communicative and reached out to me on status of my claim as things develop. When it was finally repaired, I couldn't pick it up on the weekday due to all sorts of personal schedule issues but they accommodated me after-hours! (Warren was even able to give me details on how to care for my new paint job (Something I never even thought about!). I was also very happy they were able to secure all genuine parts! I'm so happy with their service and would highly recommend them! (Marga, Warren, Thanks so much!) read more

I got an estimate and they think because I'm a woman they could try and rip me off. They wanted to charge 6x as much as another shop to repair my electric window on a Fiat! All kind of added charges like pre and post diagnostic check, mechanical Labor and auto body labor. The shop who did my repair charges for the part and an hour of labor. Trying to change for pre and Post diagnostic codes is an utter joke. Go somewhere else ladies as they think we are fools! read more

I came to Fit It, because the reviews were so positive. I was expecting to have a great experience like the rest of the reviews I had read. I came in to get an estimate on the damage of my car after an accident, and was told I'd hear back within 24 hours. One day passed, I called to check in, and was told I'd hear back later that day. It's been 4 days since I've gone in, and have YET to get a response. Business is busy, I am understanding of that, but no communication whatsoever is absolutely unacceptable. I'm really disappointed with my experience here, and I found another shop who reached out within 6 hours of me going there to get my car checked. read more

Love this place - I go here for all my auto body needs! Been going here since they were Kline Collision. These guys are the best! Friendly, quality and efficient service. I chose Fix San Mateo initially because when I called, they didn't treat me like a little girl who didn't know anything about cars, the typical reaction I get when visiting a garage. My car has been hit twice in the last two years by others while I am parked at work and a few other shops I consulted made it seem like it was my fault for other people hitting my car. Warren made me feel respected and welcome and gave a reasonable quote to get my car repaired, as well as a quick turnaround time. Everyone at the shop is friendly and treat you like a human not just a number. They even called me to let me know my car was ready in advance of the time they had initially told me. They care not only about the car but also the service they provide. Whenever I pick up my car, it has been cleaned and the workmanship is excellent! I had a check engine light that came up recently and the dealership was going to charge me a crazy fee to get it repaired plus I had to drive all the way to Walnut Creek from San Mateo. I asked them if they could take a look and if there was a person nearby who they trusted would help me. They invited me to their shop and had a mechanic nearby come and check the car out at no charge and also introduced me to him (he is also fantastic!) The team is honest, thorough and great at what they do! Highly recommend to anyone needing to get any work done! read more

Marga & team at Fix Auto San Mateo were fantastic - cannot recommend them highly enough. Had a number of repairs needed, and there was a difficult part to source. Other places couldn't get the part in any reasonable timeframe while Marga came through, and the repairs were all completed very quickly - Fix Auto not only provided a shorter estimated timeframe than others, but finished the work even sooner than they estimated. Great communication throughout the process, and high quality work on the repairs. Getting your car repaired isn't the most enjoyable of tasks, but it was actually a pleasure working with Marga and the team there! read more
