It's a beautiful restaurant. Almost a bit of a high end pub feel. It was Happy Hour so I ordered a draft light beer and California Rolls, followed by Chicken Lettuce Wraps. The rolls tasted fresh and delicious. The Chicken Wraps were tasty but had way too much crispy wontons for my liking. Wish there was more chicken instead. Regardless, they were tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. A Manager even came by to greet me and check up on me just as I received my food. Overall was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to trying other menu items including their Dim Sum.

Friday night date-night turned out spectacular after choosing to dine at JUU KU!!…read more This place was unexpectedly impressive. It had a moody vibe with red ambient lighting and an upscale edgy sushi bar with really unique, oversized art all around. Prices were fair ranging between $12 - $35 per dish depending on what you order. Service was impeccable. Our hostess, server, and all of the staff in general were warm and friendly. Our server was able to articulate the specials and entice us to try the mango salmon roll which was smoky, creamy and tropical. Sushi tasted fresh as we also ordered the salmon sashimi. Watching the sushi chefs interact with each other and have fun while preparing such meticulous meals was entertaining and mouthwatering. My absolute favourite dish was the Rock Shrimp Tempura in a creamy spicy garlic chili sauce. These were perfectly cooked and the prawns were huge and juicy...came with a hearty salad underneath them too. The dim sum deserves a shout-out as well. We ordered the Truffle Lamb and Prawn Shumai Dumplings and it was the freshest dim sum I've ever had in Canada. Reminded me of when I was in Singapore. We will definitely return!!

Just the right amount of flavor, and a perfect start to the meal. After that, we shared the beef bibimbap rice dish, along with the chicken karaage. The service was great, with the staff being never far away, but not pressuring as you enjoy conversation and food with friends. The restaurant has a cool urban. Look with various seating and interesting decor. Although you may have to look to find street parking, it is well worth the effort for a great dining experience.

I am usually drawn towards the specials of the day. I went with a friend, and we tried a variety of menu items. Chicken Karaage - Japanese classic crispy fried chicken, green tea salt, and chili mayo. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Lovely spiced skin. We also tried the salmon pressed sushi which was fabulous. Wild sockeye salmon, avocado, Japanese mint, kaiware, seared with creamy soy sauce Lovely. We also tried the chef's appetizers for the night which was good. You don't get to choose though, and I can't say seaweed salad is a favourite for either me or my friend. The prawns were yummy though. We had no idea what we were eating in the bowl. Maybe shredded pork? It was decent. The last thing we had the assorted sashimi which was really fresh. Service was fine but not friendly. I will come here again

I went to this place today and tried a few dishes with my friend: crispy tofu, tomato beef noodles,…read morepork intestines, beef noodles, etc. The food was delicious, well-made, and the only thing was my beef noodle, which I didn't take a picture of, was not salty enough. The service was very generous and kind. The overall environment is very traditional Hong Kong Chinese. And, it was not pricey at all! Six dishes in total costed me 65 dollars plus tax and tips. I ordered the Curry Beef Brisket Noodle again during my second visit because the dish left a great impression on me during my first visit. The Curry Beef Brisket Noodle is a must-try and I definitely recommend this if you are visiting this restaurant. During my first visit, I did not have the chance to try their satay skewer and I decided to order a chicken satay skewer to try. The chicken satay was good. The meat was tender and nice, and not too burnt or tough unlike some of the satay that i tried. It came with a satay dipping sauce, but the sauce was not as good as I thought. Perhaps it did not contain peanuts due to possible allergy concerns so the sauce was not as fragrant as I expected satay sauce to be. But still it was good, and the skewer wasn't too expensive as well. Great restaurant and definitely one of the hidden gems in Edmonton.

If you ask em to go out for sushi this is the spot I'm going to recommend and hit again, and again,…read moreand again. They boast a huge selection of maki rolls that can hit so many people's dietary restrictions, or palates. Our kids had quite a few they enjoyed as well! The tempura is hot and perfectly crisp. We love the shrimp and vegetable tempura the best. The sashimi our friend ordered was amazing! Served on a bed of string vegetable that was the perfect palate cleanser. We also tried the edamame beans which were lightly salted, very tasty, and quite a large serving. We also had a chance to try the grilled squid which was super good as well! Parking is available right close but since this is near Whyte Ave you just need to drive around a little to find the free spots. There totally is a baby change table in the bathroom too. I love that this place has friendly staff, and is usually not too crazy busy on a weeknight. So we were able to bring our littles here and not feel bad disturbing other tables. They seated us at a large booth and even had kids plates for our little ones. If you like sushi you have to come here!

The service is fast and polite! The restaurant is clean and the sushi bar is open to veiw the preparation if that is your thing! I have always enjoyed going here for a full tummy of fresh fish; everytime I go here, I am so hooked on their Sashimi, I tend to forget they offer other Vietnamese dishes as well, such as many different choices of Vermacelli, phô, sushi, and cooked meats; among other options. A little bonus; the server tends to bring a decorative kettle of green tea to the table to sip on as you view the menu and make your choice. Great place to go; I highly recommend!

Second time we dined here within a 10 day period and the meals are getting better!…read more The second time we came to eat we brought two more diners which allowed us to order more dishes. The owner remembered us from the first visit just over a week ago and saw we were back and ordering more dishes. I feel like this contributed to the better meal. The dishes were hot, tasty, large, and came out quickly. The first of the two meals here was somewhat uninspiring. The Young Chow Stir-fried rice was completely grey and had no appeal. The menu says it's a favourite and it's on the House Specials page so I thought it would be a winner but I wouldn't order that again. I do feel that they have cut back on the amount of meat in their dishes. This makes sense since it's the most expensive part of the dish but it does make us feel a little cheated. When the 6 adult guests are fighting for meat before it's all gone you know there isn't enough in the dish. We will be back because my family really enjoys it here.

The thing is that they were all so good. Sometimes at a multi-dish meal there are one or two special dishes and the rest are just okay. However at Szechuan Sweet Mango all of the dishes were a delight to eat: none of them were just okay, they were all wonderful. Of course I'll be back to dine here again, how could I not? Free parking is available on the lot in front of the restaurant. If it's full I'm sure that there is plenty of side street parking. The food is a unique blend of Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai food cuisines. I think that the chef selected the best from these countries to design their meals. Not only were the dishes delicious but they were all presented in a way that made them a treat for our eyes as well as our palates. Szechuan Sweet Mango gets my five star recommendation.
