Ask about the cloud smoothies-- they look kinda like Erewhon dupes! And come with coconut cloud cream swirled throughout. I got the Tidal Wave which typically has the coconut base, banana, pineapple, blue spirulina & vanilla protein I think? I've been subbing strawberry for the pineapple & it's soo good. Next on my list to try is the golden cloud smoothie (mango) and maybe one of the coconut base bowls! The girl I ordered from recommended the Nutelloco bowl :) Service was very friendly & on a weekday morning you might have the place to yourself as this location is very new. Music was a bit loud for my liking.

I was a little nervous that this location wouldn't be as good as the ones in New Jersey, but thankfully, I was mistaken! It is just as delicious and fresh. I was impressed that the fruit was so juicy and fresh, especially because some of them are not even in season! There's definitely nothing frozen or artificial at Playa Bowls! In the two times that I've been to this location, I've had the Stupid Cupid bowl, which has a strawberry smoothie base, and is topped with coconut flakes, sliced strawberries, sliced banana, and Nutella drizzle--more like a dessert than an acai bowl, to be honest! On my most recent visit, I tried the seasonal special, the Passion Glow smoothie. I thought, for a smoothie with "passion" in the name, I couldn't really taste the passion fruit; the mango flavor was much stronger. However, it was still delicious and I loved the creaminess of the Coco Whip! Welcome to Fishers, Playa Bowls!

And they seem to really push their posts, because they pop up a lot on the feed, so I thought I'd pop over to see what's what here. Second, the cafe space itself is super inviting and decorated really nicely. There is also a little space for open mic nights, with instruments like a keyboard and acoustic guitar set out. There are cozy places everywhere to sit, including couches. This would be a great place to study or work remotely. But dang, man. Waiting 40 minutes for two burgers and an order of loaded fries ain't for me. And there was a family of six who were ahead of us who were still waiting for their food after we were done and leaving. The problem is that there is one kiosk to order from. There's no one at the counter to take orders. And there was one person in the back making food. They also don't have all of the items that are available in the cafe on the kiosk menu. For instance, if you wanted a can of Coke or Sprite or a bottle of water, you can't order that on the kiosk because they're not listed. So you have to flag down the lone guy in the back making the food. The burgers are supposed to be smash burgers, but they were just regular cheeseburgers. The loaded fries were fine -- just ground beef, grilled onions and a special sauce. Kind of like a deconstructed burger on top of fries. To top it off, it kind of smelled like sulphur in the cafe, which was a bit of a turn-off. I don't know what was going on there, but I don't want to smell that egg smell when I'm trying to eat my food. The strawberry refresher was good, my child said. They have a lot of different beverages here (which are fortunately on the kiosk menu), like said fruity refresher, hot coffee and iced coffee, matcha lattes, smoothies and other drinks. I hate to give out a two-star review, but my experience could have been a lot better, so I have no choice.
