Flashpool Productions - Underwater Fairy!

Flashpool Productions

A co-worker of mine won a photo session with Flashpool at a charity event. She had a underwater dog…read moreshoot with Flashpool and raved about the great experience. I was so impressed after seeing those photos, I just had to get photos of my dog too. I contacted Sarah Teveldal, owner of Flashpool, and she responded very quickly to set up the photo shoot. She coordinated the pool and was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process, including when our first photos shoot got rained out. My dog (a mini dachshund) was nervous during the photo shoot and hesitant to jump in the water- Sarah still managed to work with her and get her in the pool. She also came up with great out-of-water playing shots and was even able to get mid-air jumping shots! Sarah edited a number of photos, which all turned out excellently, and accommodated my schedule so I could have edited photos in time to order a canvas (her website offers printing too!!) before my family comes to town for the holidays. Sarah's professionalism was top notch. Her artistic touch and ability to get a great photo, even with as challenging of a subject as a scampering, wet, mini-wiener dog was outstanding. I recommend Sarah and Flashpool Productions to anyone looking for a fresh take on the "old photo session"- her range and abilities would be great for family photos, swim teams, friends, and, absolutely, for dogs. Cheers!

From the day I contacted her she was so helpful and sweet. She gave us tips and tricks to keep in mind so that day-of we would be as prepared as possible. I let her know I was not a strong swimmer and she reassured me that we could still make this work! The end results were AMAZING and truly speak to how talented Sarah is. She was able to take fantastic shots in seconds. Like I mentioned previously, I am not a strong swimmer and have a mild fear of being in deep water. Even though we were underwater for seconds, she moved around us with a swiftness that enabled her to capture magical shots. Her boyfriend was also fantastic and helped throughout the shoot. Afterwards, we received edited photos within a few days and my family and I had a very tough time choosing the photos we wanted. There were so many beautiful photos. We ended up choosing one of our photos for our save-the-dates and nearly all our guests couldn't believe we were even underwater in the picture. We had such great responses and I cannot thank Sarah enough. It was a unique and incredibly fun experience for us and I cannot wait to showcase more of our photos at our wedding. If I could give her 10 stars, I would! THANK YOU SARAH!

Annie Ray - Wedding 2010

Annie Ray

Annie Ray can make anybody look cool…read more Her "photobooth" photography style is edgy and fun, in no small part because of her incredibly likeable personality and the way she eggs on her subjects like some kind of totally cliche French photographer ("Give me more! Give me more!"). Yet her subjects catch her enthusiasm and channel their inner goofball/badass/child/whatever, striking ridiculous poses, making faces they would never otherwise make in public, even taping gross, who-knows-where-this-has-been fake moustaches under their noses to help them get into character. Yet somehow, magically, everyone looks hip and cool and funky and lively in the end product. Or maybe everyone looks totally dorky and ridiculous, but it doesn't matter, because all your friends look that way in their shots, too. Annie Ray is some kind of photographic genius. Everybody wants some of what she's got. Fortunately, she's happy to share. P.S. The photo posted above is NOT one of Annie Ray's shots. It's a shot I took of Annie Ray while obnoxiously exclaiming, "Give me more!" --- EDIT, January 2012: The photo I posted with this listing was removed by Yelp because it allegedly violated the Content Guidelines. When I inquired as to how it violated the Content Guidelines, I was told that I was supposed to "avoid uploading close-ups of other people." Uh...every single photo for this listing includes a close-up of other people. Yelp, if you're going to remove my content from your site - which, by the way, I have donated to you for free and you have made money from - it might be nice if you gave me the honor of providing me with a reasonable explanation for why it was removed. Just a suggestion.

Attention closet models! Annie Ray is your photog!…read more Some people may ask "Why do all these folks feel the need to act a fool in front of cameras?? I don't get that behavior." Well, partially it's to have a physical memory of the event and the friends we love. But mostly it's cause an Annie Ray photo shoot is like a ride at Six Flags. It's a "weeeeeee" kinda fun where you can be as adventurous and loud and silly as you dare. When the ride is over, most folks get right back in line again. And just like a rollercoaster ride, you can end up with a crazy pic of your adventure. But Annie Ray specifically as a photographer is a joy. She's ebullient, effervescent, energetic, and encouraging which is great when you are working with stoic camera shy boys like my hubby and bff. And she makes ME look good even tho I normally take horrible pictures. I can never get my face to act right (in fact, no telling how many of the 20 or so that she takes she pitches to only post a few on her site....). And she remembers people. Having worked many a Yelp party and working with countless faces, I am amazed that she remembers my name and when she met hubby last event, she was so excited and demanded we take more pictures of just us, encouraging him "Randy love Keri! Loooove her!"...which of course hubby took to mean "Stick your tongue in her ear!!". I always look forward to an Annie Ray photobooth. She is an Annie Ray of Sunshine!

Luxe Photography - It was important to me that our photographer capture the "details" and decorations at our wedding. Jennifer with Luxe did so beautifully!

Something about Luxe's portfolio stood out to me from the beginning and after looking at tons of sites of other Austin photographers, I knew Luxe was the right choice for our wedding. I particularly loved how she does just as good with natural light as she does with flash photography -- capturing pretty portraits AND fun reception shots! Jennifer was responsive, fun to work with, kind and took beautiful photos. Plus, her pricing was extremely fair and she provided a HUGE selection of edited images. My mom has a detailed list of all the photos she wanted taken day-of and Jennifer got them all! She seriously didn't miss a shot. Jennifer did so many sweet "extras" that she totally didn't have to do but did. For instance, mom was having a hard time getting a print shop to print one of my bridal photos in the correct size to have displayed at the venue. Jennifer said "let me handle it" and a few days later mom has a gorgeous print on her front door. Also, she treated me, my mom and our friend to drinks after our bridal shoot. Seriously, she was just above and beyond. I have many friends who don't love their wedding photos, but I absolutely adore ours. I would, without hesitation, recommend Luxe/Jennifer to capture your special day!

She was willing to work with us on the budget and catered our wedding package to our needs. We were also lucky enough to get a second photographer at no additional charge. Thanks, Jennifer!

Steven was referred to me by a coworker who was also in the wedding planning process, who had nothing but praises of him. Since the second we met Steven we loved him. His sense of humor, his creativity, professionalism, and even his European accent. We loved him. He was such a pleasure to work with. Steven understood and respected our family, friends and religious beliefs (catholic ceremony) and did everything in his power to make our wedding run smooth and capture all our special moments of our day. Absolutely everything was on schedule and I thank him for that. Steven showed up to the "bridal get ready danger zone" 2 hours earlier than expected to take pictures and talk about our day, he also hopped on the bridal party bus with us to share a toast and take more photos. One thing I asked of him for our wedding day was to get a picture of my now husband dancing with his 92 year old Grandmother, who he is incredibly close to. I looked over at one point in the evening and saw Steven make a dash for my groom and his grandmother who could barley walk as they shared a dance at her table. Steven knew and understood how important that was for my husband and we will cherish that picture and moment forever. The extra engagement shoot at no cost was such a blessing as well. It was too hot to work so he lets us have a redo. Steven always had an assistant with him to help which was also unexpected and they were such a pleasure as well. These are only a few of the wonderful things he did for us. Our engagement shoot, my bridal portraits and the wedding were all100% more than we ever expected. We cant thank him enough for making this time so special and affordable. He have definitely found our family photographer and cant wait to work with him again in the next month for our Christmas pictures.
