Then a week before the appointment, I emailed Dan to confirm, and he said no problem. Guess what, the NIGHT before the appointment, after 10pm, I got an email from Dan's brother, saying Dan just realized he has another "engagement" at the same time slot the next day and couldn't make the appointment. Now here comes my complaints: First of all, if an appointment was made two months in advance, you work your schedule around it. I was only in town for two days to visit friends and family, and I made sure I stuck to my appointment, why can't you?! It'd be different if you have a family emergency, then I'd understand. But noooo, he had "another engagement". I was completely speechless when I read the email. Speaking of the email, here comes my second complaint--show some respect to a prospect customer, at least CALL, APOLOGIZE, and say you can't make it to an appointment you made two months before. Not only didn't Dan have the respect and decency to personally call me, he even asked his brother to EMAIL. I wish I could copy and paste the email here, but I assure you that the email was not apologetic at all. It was just a normal email, stating Dan couldn't make it to my appointment the next day because he has another engagement. Third and lastly, even after the fact, Dan didn't make an attempt to reach out to me, to again, APOLOGIZE. Sure I am just one bride and will only get married once, but I have a wedding planner and I make sure she will never recommend such unprofessional services to any of her other brides. Not to mention I have enough younger friends in Seattle who will eventually get married. In summary, again, this review only applies to their professionalism. But ask yourself, if you are a bride, do you want to hire someone that's flaky? I think not.

I was already a Guitar Center customer, having purchased some equipment and begun the journey of learning to play. Like many beginners, I was struggling along, trying to figure things out, and sometimes feeling as though I was in this all by myself. Then one day, something happened that changed the way I felt about your store. I was offered a free guitar. There was just one catch: I had to buy a set of strings. Naturally, I was skeptical. I remember thinking, "Okay, what's the catch? How is this deal going to screw me over?" But I agreed, purchased the strings, and sure enough, Guitar Center handed me a Rogue dreadnought acoustic guitar. No gimmicks, no surprises, just a guitar. I still have that guitar today. It's an inexpensive instrument, but I wouldn't part with it. What makes that guitar special isn't its monetary value. It's the goodwill attached to it. At a time when I was trying to find my way in music and feeling pretty much on my own, somebody at Guitar Center made me feel encouraged and appreciated. That meant something to me then, and it still does today. What your store probably didn't realize was that this simple gesture would have a lasting impact. Over the past two years, I have made 17 purchases at Guitar Center, totaling $19,061.63. Those purchases have included guitars, keyboards, speakers, and an assortment of other musical equipment that has brought me countless hours of enjoyment. I'm sharing those numbers not to boast about how much I've spent, but to illustrate something I believe every business should understand: goodwill creates loyalty, and loyalty creates lasting relationships. You didn't have to give me that guitar. You certainly didn't have to make a beginning musician feel like someone was in his corner. But you did, and I've never forgotten it. This is the least professional business I have ever dealt with. I tried to consign some equipment…read morewith them and everything was shady at best: 1. I was never asked what I wanted to sell things for, only told that they would sell for x amount. 2. I was never notified when things sold unless I drove to the store (no one answers the phone, and I have multiple phone records to prove this) and physically waited for someone to show up. 3. I was never shown any receipts of what things were sold for just a "i think it sold for this much" 4. Their "business hours" are literally just numbers on a door, the doors never open on time. 5. There are 0 price tags on any of the items. This means they can sell things for what they want and turn around and tell folks that have equipment consigned they it sold for considerably less. They pocket the rest. 6. There is a wall of filled out consignment slips behind the cash register which means nothing consigned is getting sold! 7. One piece of equipment that I consigned that I noticed was no longer on the sales floor, the owner told me the sales guy was "borrowing" for a gig. He "does that from time to time with some of the equipment". 8. The consignment "paperwork" was initially done on the back of a business card. That should have been a warning sign for me, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. While I have to give the owner credit for being the shrewdest businessman I've ever dealt with (he undercut me by $150 when i needed to sell everything to them due to me moving) the whole experience cost me more in gas money and wasted time than what I was able to make from the equipment I tried to sell. It's very unfortunate that I have to write this, and also given the previous bad review on here, it makes complete sense. For anyone that wants to consign equipment, make the extra trip elsewhere. If you're looking to buy, I would definitely bring someone that can negotiate well. I genuinely think these people mean well, they just run a business that is all based on their "word".

I can tend to be all business, but we wound up chatting with Adam and drinking some delicious IPAs for nearly 3 hours, and as my husband and I walked out the door he said, "I know you're going to hire him, why don't you just do that now?!" Adam met with us again a week or two before the wedding to go over the day of details, make recommendations, and continue to get a better feel for who we were as a couple. We are so glad we did! From the start, Adam was on top of things, providing us a multitude of options and just generally feeling out what it was we were looking for. We had ideas, and he helped shaped them, giving advice, and even providing us ceremonial services on top of the reception. We had a couple hours-long planning session about a month out, and he not only went through our playlist and wedding party names for pronunciation, but he also asked us great questions, like what music do our parents like, who are some of our favorite bands not on the playlist, etc., which he helped craft into an unforgettable experience by mixing in songs throughout the day's events, making some truly great remixes and stylistic flourishes that kept people on the dance floor all night long, and so much more. He even worked with us on cutting out the audio in Don't Stop Believin' like they did in the finale of the Sopranos! It was just a pleasure to have a guy like Adam for our event, who takes his work very seriously but does it in such a fun and easy manner. Neither my wife or I will be getting married again LOL, and we live on the opposite sides of the country as Adam, but something tells me we'll cross paths again, somehow and someway, because everything was perfect, and Adam was a big part of making that so.
