Alex is AWESOME. I am not impressed by most people and I don't find most people very interesting but Alex is both impressive and interesting. I love his comprehensive Dropbox full of sheet music for his students which he regularly adds new material to. Alex has a great Google Doc "lesson journal" which works very well for him to summarize lessons and give homework and for me to take notes, jot down questions, etc. Alex has real answers to my questions and really personalizes the lessons to what I want to learn. I imagine that I'm not a typical guitar student and some may even consider me "difficult" (because I'm very curious and I want to study and understand everything) but Alex takes it all in stride and builds off of it. We tried. My son went as a beginner for piano lessons. I, too, play piano, so I taught him some…read morethings so he'd be more comfortable in a new environment; he has ASD. What I dislike is that there wasn't any real curriculum, just a book that we were told to purchase that doesn't explain anything-and he was expected to play without being told anything. Again, I taught him some things, so he was able to play from the book, but what if I hadn't taught him anything? Then what? I have a friend whose child attends there. Her other child attends Ted Brown. She never mentions anything about Cappella but goes on about how good Ted Brown is. That's curious. I know that Cappella produces wonderful results, I'm just not sure how, as this was not the case for us.
