For only having a brick and mortar location since May 2016 - she has tapped into a market for those of us whom want to be creative but don't want to just sit and paint. From creating your own laundry detergent to designing your own jewelry, Laurie has created a variety of class for every age imaginable. I also recently attending a Sunday Yoga and Craft class (which I believe is going to be a monthly event). WHAL offers great classes for youth and adults, for beginners and experts. I really enjoyed getting the chance to view some local art by some really talented folks! Now that this location is on my radar, I am going to be checking in so see what other events they host. I heard that they also have done photography showings in the past. The venue itself is a tad tough to find just going by google maps, but once you realize where it is, parking is super easy. I make pottery and go there to throw or hand build using clay. Jim and Mark are very knowledgeable and help with all of my questions. There's another instructor who runs painting classes. Everything was set out ahead of time, except for paint, and everyone attending was able to pick their pre-sketched painting. Care for clothes was addressed and smocks handed out. Time flew by, and even though I have the painting skills of a toddler (I know this to be true), she and her assistants were kind and complimentary. We were all encouraged to be creative and break outside the template with the materials available, so truly none of the finished products look the same. Now I have art for my one day kitchen, and it's marked on the back so I know what artist I made it under!

Once she was done she cleaned up promptly and event provided pictures and boomerangs of the event for staff to keep for memories.
