I have taken my dog to Dr. Hardy to get a tooth pulled plus teeth cleaning and everything was great. I recently had to put my dog down which was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Everything went well. Received his ashes in 2 weeks. No complaints except I wish I didn't have to do that. read more

Good : They have lots of availability for spay/neuter and the price isn't too bad. : Vaccine price is also comparable with other vet clinics. : Staffs are nice. Bad : If your animals are getting vaccinated here, you won't be able to go inside with them which I find it's quite odd. : We scheduled our puppy to get spayed here but we accidentally gave her food in the morning. ( They never told us what not to do before the procedure or even communicate whatsoever). I went to the clinic to let them know and wanted to reschedule but staff said it's still ok to proceed with the surgery and even went to confirm with the doctor. That really pissed me off. First, they're extremely expensive. Was quoted a ridiculous amount for a neutering. Around $800. AMPM clinic in Norwalk charged me $170. I experienced a few issues with this place: 1. Called to make an appointment, left a voicemail and they never called me back. 2. Called again, waited awhile for someone to answer. I asked what they charged for Vaccines but was not informed of the "Vaccine wellness exam" 3. When I arrived for the appointment there was no one at the front desk and she didn't come out till about 15 mins later when another customer came in. 4. I was then given an estimate of the vaccines, which included a mandatory $26 "Vaccine wellness exam," I was not informed of this when I called. They are basically charging $26 to check your pet's temperature. I've never experienced this so called fee at any other vet's office. Seems like a scam charge. 5. Just an FYI, when I walked in there was just one other person in the waiting room, by the time I left every seat was taken. On the positive side, place smells & looks clean. read more

Because we did NOT have an appointment in fact we had an emergency, YES AN EMERGENCY because Coco had what appeared to be a bee sting because her face had started to swell after coming in from using the potty and playing in our backyard.. At 4:11 pm is when I called which was immediately after I had taken notice to coco being swollen in the face, asked if they had any openings I was told no but I can bring her in and not even kidding AS SOON as we stepped foot in , the lady at the front desk told the lady in the back "CoCo is here!" And not even a minute later we got called into the room... we are extremely THANKFUL, GRATEFUL & APPRECIATIVE for Dr. Hardy and his staff I've had HORRIBLE experiences with vets, not trustworthy AT ALL because I KNOW that these days they seem to prey on your desperation and emotions to find out what's wrong with your fur babies as well as you wanting to fix whatever issues they're having~ to ME it's been a complete money Scheme BUT I honestly feel safe bringing all THREE of my babies here! Not the first time for us coming here either... but this UNEXPECTED EMERGENCY and the way they had us in and out, and coco back on the road to basically instant recovery HANDS DOWN was the icing on THIS vegan cake ( also pricing wasn't bad AT ALL ) Photos will be enclosed and it will be from the time we were on the road to Evening Pet Clinic and once we returned home... I came here with my doggy for the first time. I was recommend to come here by a family friend. So I had high expectations however, the wait time was excessive and the veterinarian was very rude and dismissive. They took my pet away to a different room to examine them without me. Which was suspicious if you ask me. Then the veterinarian came in and I mentioned my concerns to him and he was like oh yeah I don't know. How don't you know??? I would never bring my pet here ever again. The staff was very kind and nice. In my opinion the veterinarian there just wanted to take all the money he could and he didn't care about the animals worst experience ever!! read more

Wonderful people, they helped my dog! She was having a very bad earache that came on overnight they got her right in helped her out. Her Doctor was so nice and was so patient with her (she is part Pit bull/mastiff) She was feeling much better afterwards! I could totally tell and very reasonable prices too. Without Dr.Grain this place has gone completely downhill he truly loved and cared for your pets like his own. Went in to get my dog's vaccinations up to date which took almost two weeks to schedule and we had a concern about his teeth. Customer service was lacking and just for the "check up " it was 50 dollars . They do not administer the shots in front of owners which is a little nerve racking. Dr.Hardy walks in no introduction without any bed side manner for less than 3 mins to give a diagnosis that was later quoted at 1500-2000 dollars for my dog to get a cleaning , I express I really would want to avoid anesthesia in any treatment. He word for word scoffs and says "well i cant help you...." even if that were true that is no way to speak to people worried about a cherished member of their family. Will be seeking other options , and will update this review to prove there are more a vet can offer than a 2000 dollar procedure. read more

Dr. Grain is the best. We have gone to him for 10 years. He has treated a possum, a canary, numerous dogs and cats. He has always been fair and honest never taking advantage of a desperate situation. He's always said it's not my job to keep this sick animal alive. Dr. Gain is very knowledgeable in all aspects of veterinary science. He is willing to take time to share his expertise and experiences with his patient's parents. After many years of practicing in our area, Dr. Grain has decided to take a well deserved rest and retire. In his place, Dr Hardy is taking over the practice. He is a capable, young veterinarian. He is both gentle, caring and thorough in his examinations. I know that he will carry on with Dr. Grain's love and care of our pets. In addition the office staff at Evening Pet Clinic are caring, accommodating, and knowledgeable in the care of pets. I highly recommend Evening Pet Clinic for your pet's needs. great and quick service for my small dog who had an injury from getting bit by a larger animal. the clinic was relatively clean but dusty. the total cost was still expensive- $56 office visit, $250+ for meds, but it was comparable to other vet clinics i've been to. they are not child-friendly. read more

My first time at the clinic I did not know that I was not going to be allowed to be with my pet during the doctor's check-up, which I think is a red flag. Dr. Hardy lacks any kind of manners which makes for a very uncomfortable experience and an unwelcoming environment. He does not seem to express care or empathy (which I'm sure he has since he is dedicating himself to animal care.) Client-services act more like a retail store than an animal hospital. My dogs skin is really bad. I took him in today. The newer dr was argumentative... I had certain theories as to why my dogs skin was the way it was and the dr. talked to me like I was ignorant...I'm here to figure out why my dog is chewing his skin off. I spent $160 and got no answers. The rescue where I got my dog they said he was part lab... the dr said he wasn't then offered no guess as to what he could be. My family has been coming to this clinic for over 33 years. Dr. Grain was wonderful, he was very good with our pets, and listened to our concerns. Dr. Grain has recently retired. There is a new Veterinarian. I'm not sure if I like him because I've never met him. You are no longer allowed to go into the examination room with your pets, the assistants just take them and go, and bring them back when they're done. You're not given an assessment on your pets health. If given medication, you're not told which side effects to look for if any. The customer service has gone down. I called for a week before someone actually answered the phone. When calling it would just ring about 6 times before the answering machine would pick up and say goodbye When speaking to others in the waiting room everyone had the same complaint, some even complained about their Pharmacy not being able to reach the office about refills on medication (about 4 different individuals). When I brought my pet in the girl at the desk ignored me for about 5 minutes, finally she said, have a seat, I'll be with you in a minute. I understand she was printing out a receipt and writing something down, but it would have taken 5 seconds to acknowledge me. I use to have such confidence bringing me pets here. Not so sure this will continue to be my Veterinarian office and this saddens me. The staff is a reflection of the business, this reflection is not looking very good. read more

Every time I call here the girl is extremely rude. I called regarding my sick cat on today Monday and she said no we can't take him in, keep in mind he hasn't been eating and throwing up the last 24 hours. She mentioned they don't have an appointment until Thursday. I mentioned I needed to have him seen before and she said she couldn't do anything and it's up to me of I want to take him somewhere else. My dog was there to get shots we left came home and she couldn't breathe face swell up I didn't know what was wrong. I called the office back they were close had to rush her to the hospital found out she had an allergic reaction to the shots. The problem that I had I should have been told this could happen and what I should do not 288 dollars later. The vet had no concern at all his statement was you would have had to do that anyway. Never asked about my dog until I stated that's all you have to say WOW . We've been seeing Dr. Grain for many years. He is a most caring and expert veterinarian. My three small, aging dogs are comfortable here, and not afraid. The staff are friendly and caring, and everyone is top notch at their jobs. My favorite thing about Dr. Grain, in addition to his veterinary expertise, is that he has a big booming voice when he speaks normally, but speaks to the animals in a teeny tiny voice. It's adorable, and it works. Love, love, love this vet and we travel 7.4 miles to see him, when there are plenty of vets closer. He explains everything very clearly, doesn't overcharge or try to do more than necessary. As others have said, Dr. Grain is AWESOME! read more

Dr. Hardy takes great care of my cat. However due to Covid, you're unable to go inside where your pet is taken since it's so small. However, Dr. Harvey does come out and talk to you about his observations and what he did. There's a 3 people inside the lobby rule which is also fair because the lobby is super tiny. ((warning graphic)) We found a kitten hit by a car and bleeding in the middle of Cherry, a few blocks south. I quickly scooped her up, and drove to the nearest vet. As I walked indoors her tail completely degloved, and I was holding a little kitten with a skeleton tail, who was bleeding all over me. I went to the front desk, and told the lady that this is an emergency, and this kitten needs help. She looked annoyed and said that the office was booked for the day and told me to go to a humane society. Thinking that perhaps I wasn't willing to foot the bill, I told her that I was happy to pay for the cat's treatment. She looked even more annoyed, insisted that I go elsewhere. I asked if she could tell me where, and she rudely said that they don't keep that kind of information on hand. She sat behind her desk, and began typing. By this point there were pet owners in the office, all upset over the sight of my dying cat. One man shouted that she has to be kidding- this cat needs emergency help. And a kind old lady referred us to the VCA. Honestly, the cat needed serious medical assistance, and I'm not even sure if this facility would have been able to provide any real help. However, the lady at the front desk was incredibly rude and unhelpful as an animal was dying in her waiting room. And because of this I would never give a place like this my business. read more

Dr. Grain retired and someone new took over the business. The young lady who answers the phone is rude and it appears as if they just plain don't care about their customers. The girl who answered the phone told me they have no appointments available for a month and if it's an emergency then go to the animal ER. I asked her if she can just call me if someone cancels and I'd be willing to drop everything and come over and take the spot. She said no. This will be my second time coming to this pet clinic because it is walking distance to where I live and my first experience was with Dr. Grain and very pleasant person very easy-going just had to get my cat examined and get a prescription for his food. My second visit I was a bit different due to Covid and I had Dr. Hardy to look at my cat to get his shots and of course his prescription food again and also my dog which need to get his ears checked because I believe it was infected and of course it was indeed infected so I asked him to give me the best possible care he can give me for him and he explained to me what he was going to do and that was pretty much it and I went ahead and did it, before they were about to do everything one of the ladies that work there came in to give me a quote on what they were doing and how much it will cost and the pricing isn't that bad. Overall the experience went smoothly and both my pets are doing fine. Dr. Grain was recommended to me so I made a 10:15a.m. appt for my puppy to get his shots. Unfortunately, Dr. Grain had retired and Dr. Hardy had taken his place. I arrived for my 10:15 appt at 10:10 and called to check in. By 10:50, when no one had called me in, I called and asked Veronica how much longer it would be. She told me it would be about 20 more minutes, which would make my wait an hour or more. My puppy and I had had enough and we left.
