I called for an appointment and Isabella got me in right away. She was so pleasant on the phone. I met with Dr. Hope for an exam and consultation. Dr. Hope had a high level of professionalism that I had not received from my previous vet. They took x-rays and showed me exactly what the issue was with my cat. After a surgery and some recovery time my little girl is back to her playful and joyful self. Of note, my cat has been labeled "dangerous" and "difficult to handle" at our former vet's office. I was [shocked] when the staff at Lakewood Pet Vet told me she's a sweetheart and not difficult at all. This team truly cares about how they treat animals and do so with the utmost care! I will be bringing all my cats here moving forward.

He was taken in quickly and I was initially reassured, which helped in that moment. After that, most of the communication shifted toward costs, approvals, and payments rather than clear medical updates. I understand veterinary care is expensive and estimates are necessary. However, this experience felt far more transactional, especially in moments that required compassion. I paid about $517 for basic treatment (antibiotics, patient room fees, iv fluids, vaccines, cone, and fees), but no diagnostics were completed. I was quoted $1,000+ for x-rays. Feeling overwhelmed by staffs, I ultimately left and sought care elsewhere. At another clinic, my dog received imaging, was diagnosed with a broken rib and dental injury, and received full treatment for a much more affordable price. Beyond the cost, that clinic felt far more present and personal, and the experience itself felt reassuring and grounded rather than transactional. Thankfully, he is now safe and recovering. After posting my original review, the business publicly responded and asked me to reach out directly. I did so immediately, in good faith, hoping for clarification or resolution. I never received a response. That gap between public reply and private silence is part of why I'm sharing this. That, combined with the experience in person, is what disappointed me most -- not just the visit itself, but the lack of follow-through afterward. When a business responds publicly but doesn't continue that same level of communication privately, it raises concerns about sincerity and whether the response is about resolution or reputation.

Thank you for reaching out and listening to our concerns. I would like to sincerely thanks Ambassador and their sister location, All American Animal for showing compassion during our recent visit on 02/24/2026. We are long-time patients of this clinic and have always trusted the team with our dogs' care, which is why we continue to come here whenever our pets are not feeling well. We brought Kino in because he was experiencing excessive itchiness, redness, vomiting, and was clearly in discomfort. Despite the office being very busy, we truly appreciated the time that Dr. Meina took to see him and make sure he received the treatment he needed. From the moment we were brought in, he listened attentively as I explained Kino's symptoms and concerns. It meant so much to feel heard and understood, especially when your pet is clearly not feeling well and in distress. Dr. Meina took the time to thoroughly assess Kino's condition and explain the available treatment options, ensuring we felt comfortable and informed with the plan of care. His patience, professionalism, and compassion helped make an already stressful situation much easier for both us and our dog. I would also like to thank Marisol, the manager, who reached out after we addressed our concerns and helped refer us to their sister clinic's urgent care so that Kino could receive the care he needed as soon as possible. Despite some initial misunderstanding, the office took the time to listen to our concerns and worked with us to find a way to assist in getting Kino the care he needed. That level of communication and willingness to help truly made a difference. Veterinarians and their teams play such an important role in relieving pain, managing illness, and ensuring our pets are comfortable and safe. We love this clinic and appreciate the dedication the staff shows to their patients and families. Thank you again to Dr. Meina and Marisol for taking the time to listen, support us, and make sure Kino received the care he needed.

I first went it because my cat had a growth on her hind leg paw pad that looked painful and uncomfortable. I went in and Dr. Isaac helped find some options for testing and then treatment. We discovered she had a very rare cancer and between the testing and initial treatment it was going to be expensive. The doctor worked with me to decide on an option that fit my budget and still helped my cat. Her growth was removed but it grew back pretty aggressively. I went back and got it removed again but this time it took 4 years to grow back. She survived cancer three times with Dr. Isaac but unfortunately the fourth time she didn't make it. I've now taken two street cats who have been helped by Dr. Justina. Although things get pricey fast, they've worked really well with my pets and now these neighborhood cats. I'm very grateful!

The evening before, I was denied an appointment because "the vet sees their last client at 5 p.m." -- even though I explained my cat was having trouble breathing. They close at 6pm. I ended up taking him to urgent care, where he was given antibiotics. The next morning, his condition worsened, so I went back to this clinic hoping they'd finally help. The receptionist (long curly-haired woman) told me the vets wouldn't be in until 9 a.m. and dismissively told me to "take him to an animal hospital." Her attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional -- she spoke the same way to another woman with a sick dog. Sadly, my cat passed away shortly after. I've also had long-standing concerns about how they handle animals. In previous visits, the vet techs claimed he was "aggressive," and suggested I medicate him with gabapentin, which I stupidly asked the vet to give me medication for. The vet techs always took him to the back without me. Once, during a deworming treatment, I could hear him crying loudly -- when I demanded to see him, he was muzzled and had his eyes covered with a large green restraint. I will never bring another animal here again. They charge an arm and a leg and their services are very appalling. Not to mention, the place is falling apart. Please think twice before trusting this place with your pets. Highly encourage you take your pets to Ambassador Animal Hospital near Cherry and Carson. Not an arm and a leg, and it's cleaner. Staff and vet are empathetic and were super supportive when my fur baby passed away.
