I had done my research prior to buying a package from ALS, and thought I was making an informed decision for my provider. The package I purchased was for upper lip and brazilian. Initially they had me coming in every 6 weeks, which I have since learned was entirely to frequently for my personal hair growth cycles, and the laser they were using was an older model, the point and click kind. It was painful, and I had no decrease in lip (stache') hair growth, and the bikini/brazilian was still a patchwork design after 6 treatments, with a LOT of hair left. Frankly, I looked like I had mange down there. :( Since they closed, I have turned to Aloft Beauty for my services. Pit hair . . . GONE! Lip hair . . . well, almost GONE! Bikini/brazilian, finally smooth! The other big difference for me was the level of discomfort, so much less with the rolling type of treatment. They are using the Soprano ICE, the latest and greatest, and believe me, it is a highly noticeable difference!! Prior to receiving certain medications, patients are required to pay in advance, which I understood and complied with. I paid $400 six weeks ago in preparation for today's appointment. As usual, I received both a confirmation call and text message the day before confirming my attendance. Today, I arrived, checked in, and sat in the waiting room for approximately 50 minutes before finally being called to the back and informed that my medication was unavailable and would not arrive until next week. What is most disappointing is not simply the inconvenience, but the lack of consideration and communication shown to me as a long-term patient. Had someone informed me within the first 15-20 minutes that the medication was unavailable, I would have understood and shown grace. Instead, I was left waiting nearly an hour with no transparency and ultimately no service rendered. I spoke with the office manager, Dr. Agesi's husband, who was apologetic, and I appreciate that. However, after being a loyal out-of-pocket paying patient for three years -- especially since my insurance is not accepted -- this experience made me feel as though my time, commitment, and loyalty meant very little. While I cannot confirm what happened, it honestly felt as though my medication may have been given to another patient. Regardless of the reason, the situation could and should have been handled with more professionalism and courtesy. This experience has left me deeply disappointed.
