Apparently the media department follows up on these reviews which I appreciate. Here's what happened with this specific obsteteician. She did not tell me in initial ultrasound I was carrying twins. I didn't find out until I miscarried several weeks later. Now she's telling these people I'm lying and she did tell me. I'm just in "emotional distress". Now I'm irate. This Clinic just accused me of lying about an experience both me and my husband had there. Nope. I wasn't alone, I have an actual witness. If you want a COMPETANT OB then this isn't the place for you. Any experience you have will have the blame placed solely on your shoulders. Avoid it at all costs especially Joi Findley-Smith. Absolute shit human.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We were in and out quickly, and Dr. Perona was wonderful. She showed every piece of equipment to my son before she used it... stethoscope, otoscope, etc. He's never been afraid of the doctor, but it was a very nice to know that she treats all children carefully and gently. I was a little surprised that they don't email paperwork to fill out ahead of time like most doctor's offices do, but they are a little more old school. I'm okay with that. All in all, I would definitely recommend Nassau Bay Pediatrics and Dr. Perona. I'm happy to say that we found our new doctor!

Additionally, they DID NOT have nitrous oxide available, even after I was reassured several times that it would be there. Ultimately I had to be transferred to the hospital. The midwives knew that they couldn't naturally induce my labor, and instead of sending me to the hospital right away, they allowed me to endure an agonizing 24 hours so that they could collect money. Please do your research as they are extremely understaffed and head midwife is unprofessional. I was late the only one visit by 4 minutes and she left early even though I left a message that we were stuck in traffic, but she routinely had me wait up sometime up to 30 minutes while she finished with other patients. I had chosen a different route for my birth. Additionally the older reviews, are from when this birth center was located in Pasadena at a completely different facility with a different staff - it is different now.

I met Jackie and BABC at the BIRTH Fair back in 2016, and they were on my list of potential midwives when I became pregnant with my first child in 2017. I knew I wanted an out of hospital birth, and at the time was focused only on a birthing center and not home births. Jackie is an experienced certified nurse midwife (CNM), which means that she has a nursing degree and a "masters" in midwifery, which makes a lot of people feel more comfortable, especially if they're used to birthing in a hospital. Personally it made no difference to me- both CNMs and licensed midwives are legal and licensed in Texas, but it's nice to know that if it's important to you that BABC a CNM. I toured the facility and met with Jackie, asked her my questions - because as a first time mom, I had a BINDER of questions that I asked all the midwives and pediatricians I interviewed- and she was very professional and I could tell how passionate she was about her job, and really about her role helping women achieve happy, safe births for them and their children. You might be wondering, if I liked her so much why did I not choose to birth at BABC? Honestly, the amount of time it actually took me to get from my house to the birth center was over an hour- even though it was only about 15 miles away. The thought of traveling that far at least monthly for checkups, and then being in labor and potentially having a 2-hour drive to the birth center during traffic was too much for me to handle. I ended up choosing a provider located much closer, but I gladly recommend Jackie and BABC to anyone in the vicinity looking for a midwife.

Well it heal or is at 95% but it's healing incorrectly. My toe won't bend backwards toward me without hurting and when I place my foot on the ground flat footed the toe is barely touches. The reason why is that the young lady I spoke to on the phone seemed to get irritated with me as she took my information. I finally get new patient paperwork for my 10am appointment at 10:19a. I really liked her bio on the clinic's website. They took my insurance so I decided to make an appointment. So glad I did! Everyone I spoke to was really great, from the check-in desk, to Kaylie (the Dr's assisting nurse) to Dr. Smith herself. Both Kaylie and Dr. Smith were very warm and friendly. They listened to me attentively, answered my questions and I never felt rushed. Neither were condescending to me even if I probably asked questions they hear many times on a daily basis. left feeling really taken care of.

His lighthearted jokes always lifted my mood, and his staff was equally kind and supportive. They were warm, welcoming, and patient every time I came in. My best friend had also gone to him and had a great experience, and I actually found out about him through my grandmother, who had several friends recommend him as well. I lost one and he performed the DNC. - His nursing team is long term. There must be a reason for that! - The office is clean. (This is important) - If any MD can put up with me, they must be good. I am an awful patient. I always asked him to use the same blood work from the previous pregnancy. I never followed health instructions and I was gestational diabetic. Lied about healthy eating habits. He never fired me.
