He is very well educated as well as personable with a great sense of humor. He descovered that I had squamis cell carsenoma and suggested I get a biopsy..I did and he was right. He saved my life when I had been to 3 other drs and they did not see it. I had the cancer removed and have been cancer free for a year now. We started the cycle in June with a donor egg that looks like she could be my daughter. and as I went every week Melissa and Cecillia became part of my family. They are on top of things and know everything about every prolem or question you might have. I must have called them a hundred times and they always gave me the answer I needed. The clear Lake office is awesome. They always called me if there would be a delay in my appointment so I wouldn't have to wait long. I had to go to the Piney Point office on Fondren three times but it was very busy there and It didnt compare to the love and care I received at the Clear Lake location. We are expecting twins ( thanks to my 19 yr old egg donor) and are in our 12th week. The babies are due in the 1st week in April. We are so excited and feel so blessed to have chosen Houston Fertility Institute Clear Lake! Greg and Jennifer

She was very understanding of my wishes to try and do things naturally as I wasn't in the place for IVF, and given this being a fertility provider I never felt they were pushy at all, just simply let me know my options which I loved. Fast forward I came to her at 33 just to check up on everything to see if things improved and it did. My thyroid did back back a little high which hypothyroidism runs in my family - It wasn't too high to be a major concern but fast forward 4 months I became pregnant unexpectedly and she did recommend starting the thyroid medicine to protect my pregnancy and I agreed. My thyroid levels are normal and I feel really good again finally. I appreciate her as a doctor to allow me to try to do things more naturally but also letting me know when it's necessary to go the medicinal route. She was always so kind and patient and a sweet doctor!

We…read morechose to go to the Kingwood office even though it's much further for us since we live near the Woodlands bc it was available first. We were never offered a virtual appointment nor told they had a policy about not bringing children which they do have come to find out but only because it's the doctor's preference not for any covid related factors. The day prior to our appointment we get a voicemail bc my wife is working and I return the call. I tell the receptionist that I'm returning a call to confirm our appointment tomorrow and she replies she's not sure who called me or why and that her computer is slow so she will have to try to look it up. I reiterated that it was to confirm our appointment tomorrow. She confirms the location and time and I confirm the cost. The next day we arrive at the appointment, my wife and I and our toddler (in a stroller). We check in. She takes all of our temps. We go in with the nurse she does weight and blood pressure and says she's going to go see if the doctor is ready. So the nurse comes back and says the doctor is ready (there's is literally no one else there) and she says the doctor would like it if the baby can wait in the waiting room and insinuating that I need to go too. So I'm disappointed and tell her since there's no one here we can surely sit 6 ft apart. So she goes and comes back and says the doctor wants to reschedule. At this point I'm pissed bc we waited 3 months for the appointment, my wife had to take time off from work, we drove almost an hour for it. I explain that having a family is a family decision that we both want to hear the options and make decisions. But there's no explanation or alternative solution so we left. I was fuming. Dr. Roach ended up emailing us (see attached). I replied "Dear Dr. Roach, We are so disappointed and upset with how today occurred. I, Gabrielle, returned a call to your office yesterday to confirm the appointment today, to which the person I spoke to had no idea who had called me or what for and seemed confused even though I stated when she answered I was returning a call to confirm an appointment for tomorrow. During this time she confirmed the time and location of Kingwood...no further instructions were given regarding not being able to bring our young child nor did your receptionist seemed concerned when we walked in today. As you can imagine family planning for married couple is a mutual discussion and we want to both hear our options and make decisions together. So for us attend this appointment together and then not allow me (Gabrielle) because you think our child will be disruptive or have concern for health is unacceptable. The fact the there was no offering of an immediate alternative option is baffling to me. There was no one else in your office and we could have all sat more than 6 ft apart, our child could have worn a mask but no one asked. We were tossed aside like trash. With that said had our child exposed us to anything we would have likely already been exposed as well or vice versa so the risk to you from our child is no great than it would be with us. I don't understand the audicity you have to offer a virtual visit now, after we were never given an option for a virtual visit to begin with especially given are preferred location is the Woodlands since we live in Spring and only now being given that option. We could have done a virtual visit while sitting in your waiting room but instead we were asked to reschedule after taking time from our jobs and other responsibilities and driving nearly an hour to get to this appointment. So I won't apologize for being upset at the outcome. This appointment took us 3 months to get, 3 MONTHS! Time wasted during our journey to conceive due to the failure of your office in getting our records, to never being followed up with (I have not received one call from your office other than the initial call to inquire) and then this in which your office failed to provide us with expectations for the appointment, because had we known in advance that our child was not permitted we would have gotten a sitter but not once was this mentioned or is it noted on your website. We no longer want to proceed with your office. Please remove our records, there is no need to reschedule. We will be seeking out a more professional office and making sure our friends in the LGBT community don't make the same mistake." We felt disregarded and I wouldn't waste your time with the office bc they certainly don't care for your time.

Communication here is non-existent, which will cause you a lot of heartache on top of what you're going through already. I recently moved to Houston, and my fertility journey was well underway with a doctor back home who had discussed various options with me (including costs). RECOMMENDING UNNECESSARY SURGERY. I came in to see Dr. Griffin with my husband for his specific issues because I knew I needed a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to check my fallopian tubes. Dr. Griffin recommended instead that I get a hysteroscopy because it would be less painful (in retrospect, this is hilarious and ironic)! He did not mention that this was an invasive, riskier surgery with significant downtime that costs 4X as much as an HSG (by contrast, a quick outpatient procedure with no downtime, no birth control needed, and you can drive yourself home). Instead, I was put on a birth control pill for 4 weeks leading up to the surgery, my husband took a day off work, and then the surgery center called to cancel while we were on the way midday. I rescheduled and my husband took ANOTHER day off of work (they will not start the surgery unless your driver is sitting in the waiting room and they will not let him leave to get food or make business calls). Then I had days of cramping, bleeding, couldn't have sex for 2 weeks, only to be told my Fallopian tube was blocked and there was nothing they could do about it. This procedure cost me 2 full cycles of trying to conceive as well as $3,500 out of pocket, only to be recommended IVF. I changed doctors to Plaza OBGYN, had the HSG I had originally requested, and BINGO! my fallopian tubes are both open and I was able to get an IUI the next day. Likewise, my husband's issues weren't addressed until he got a urologist. BAD COMMUNICATION AND UNREASONABLE CHARGES. Additionally, when I called HFI to schedule an appointment, which I thought would be the hysteroscopy, I was instead shuttled into one room where my blood was drawn without explanation, then put in another room where a nurse did an ultrasound on me and said I looked great. I never saw the doctor. Then I was told to pay $500 out of pocket (huge rip-off, my current doctor charges $150 for ultrasounds which he performs himself) and sent home with a birth control Rx, saying someone would call to schedule my hysteroscopy. A month later I got a bill for $4,500 from LabCorp because HFI had sent my blood off for a bunch of tests they didn't mention to me. TRYING TO GET MEDICAL RECORDS. After repeated requests from my new clinic and myself, it took NEARLY A MONTH to get my medical records so my doctor could find out which fallopian tube was supposedly blocked. The staff here doesn't return messages or phone calls. PROS. the office is nice and clean, there is good parking available, and I didn't have to wait very long in the waiting room to have my savings drained without explanation. TAKEAWAY. If you decide to go here, be sure you ask a lot of questions about what they are doing and how much things will cost so you don't get bad surprises. If you don't want IVF yet and they are pushing you toward it, get a second opinion. I hope you find all the happiness and love you are looking for and don't get discouraged in your journey. ((hugs))

I had…read more2 previous scheduled appointments that I had schedueld but had to cancel due to COIVD and being called into work. These appts were in 2021 I believe. Fast forward to now and I call to get another appointment. They said that there policy is that you have to pay a fee to schedule an appointment after 2 canceled appts. No Problem. I understand. At the time I was making the appt, I told the scheduler that I believed I had another appt for my child scheduled that day. She said she would go ahead and schedule the appt. and I said I would try to get back to her that day. She never said that if I do not call back that day, I would have to pay another rescheduling fee of $109 to change the appointment. Nor was it communicated that recheduling and canceling are the same thing. So the scheduler scheduled the appt and was going to violate their own policy if I called back that day to reschedule but since now it's almost a week until the appt, that is no allowed. So she tells me it was a miscommunication on her part but that it doesn't matter, I will still have to pay another $109 to change the appt. So I told her that if she had told me that, I never would have scheduled the appt and that I was very open about possibly having another appt for my child that day that I needed to verify. All 3 people I spoke to said that it didn't matter what I spoke about with the scheduler, that in order to make another appt I would have to pay the $109. I have made more appts than I can count with various specialists, etc over the years and this is the worst customer service I have ever had at a doctors office. The scheduler never should have allowed me to make the appt and the fee should have been waived since she did not communicate to me properly. And like I told her, she messed up so you want me to pay another fee for your mess up!!!! Needless to say, I will find another clinic. If your scheduler does not know how to do their job, nor the office recognize the mistake was made, I will take my business elsewhere and ensure that no one else I know goes to that clinic.

Due to privacy regulations (FERPA and HIPAA), I don't expect a follow-up or apology at this point. But after five years, I feel it's important to finally share this publicly for the sake of others seeking care. When I experienced high blood pressure late in pregnancy, we were advised to go to the hospital--but the promised support in emergency transitions never came. My partner and I had to navigate the ER and hospital system alone while I was in and out of consciousness from a magnesium drip. The only outreach was a call asking whether we'd be returning for aftercare--not a check-in, not a gesture of compassion, not even a follow-up to acknowledge what had happened. We later discovered documentation of a hypertension diagnosis that was never discussed with us transparently. No safety plan was made. The most guidance we received came from our hypnobirthing coach--not our midwifery team. We were also exposed to COVID-19 due to lax policies around symptomatic individuals, compounding our stress and vulnerability. While a partial refund was eventually issued, the emotional impact of being left unsupported in one of the most critical moments of our lives still lingers. I truly hope Nativiti has grown and changed. But for us, what was promised and what was lived were very different.

I went to see Dr. Mazen Abdallah in October 2017. I told him my husband and I wanted to start a family but the heavy bleeding, pain, and fibroids were preventing that from happening. He reassured me he was going to FIX the problem by removing the fibroids in efforts to start fertility process. Long story short, Dr. Abdallah sold me a dream! He put a BANDAID over the problem by putting me on birth control to stop the bleeding, gave me a narcotic for the pain and approved me to be on bedrest starting 11/9/17. I had surgery dates of 11/21/17 and 12/5/17 but he canceled it saying it's not going to help the pain--he thinks it's something else going. He ordered an MRI but still didn't tell me "what else" is going on. 12/1/17 Dr. Abdallah said he can't help me and referred me to his colleague Dr. Zied at a completely different practice. I became frustrated, still on bedrest, no surgery, still taking the birth control and over the counter pain medication, and had to start over with another physician to get the fibroids removed! Because of all the time wasted and the horrible communication between Dr. Abdallah and Lauren Reed, Head of Patient Financial Services, my short term disability was denied which left me in a financial bind with the fibroids and pain. Lauren Reed (who is NOT a physician or RN) said it wasn't medically necessary for me to be on bedrest, therefore, she can't fill out the forms for my short term disability. This was such a waste of time and I still have the fibroids! **Think twice before settling with Houston Fertility Institute**
